Well, I am just looking around for some new dig cams, and the Sony Cybershot DSCW55 caught my eye. It looks real shark and slick, but wondering how are the pictures. Just seeing if anyone here has one and could upload pics since there is no where online to do that. Thanks!! :cool1:

My wife has a Sony Cybershot- not sure of the model number- but here is one I took with it yesterday since my Nikon is in the shop. Fun little camera.

Thank you- I looked online- that is the camera you mentioned or at least looks just like it. It takes movies too- I took full length mpg movies of a couple roller coasters too. We had a blast.

BUMP - anyone else have any comments about this camera? I looked on Cnet and found this review:

7.4/10 Very Good
The good: Solid image quality and performance; brushed-aluminum faceplate is a pretty touch for a budget model. The bad: Plastic body; review button is not easy to press. The bottom line: It's not the fanciest camera, but quick performance and solid images make this sub-$200 shooter a worthwhile pick.

But I am also looking at a Fuji (my current digi-cam is an old Fiji Finepix, so I am familiar with them and have found it to be a good brand):

Fujifilm FinePix F40 Digital Camera
7.2/10 Very Good
The good: Very nice image quality at lower ISOs; effective face detection. The bad: No optical or mechanical image stabilization; slightly sluggish performance; no aperture-priority or shutter-priority modes. The bottom line: Fuji's FinePix F40fd is a nice point-and-shoot that produces decent images, though it's a tad slow and lacks image stabilization.

TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use it as my p&s. I find sometimes I don't really want to lug out my SLR. It takes nice pictures and the lag between pictures is much less than with my older p&s. I don't have any pictures online, but I can see what I can find for you. It might not be until tomorrow though, sorry.

Personally, for a point & shoot, I think it's a great camera. I like the quality I get with it.

Good luck. :goodvibes It's fun but hard to pick out a new camera!

We have an excellent SLR, but we seldom bring it anywhere (although we did get some super shots at the National Zoo last year) b/c it is so much more work to take pic with it than a P&S. I am thinking about bringing the SLR just in case we decide to go all out, that and the Cannon camcorder (although with just DH & me, I don't know that we'll be making too many home movies).

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
