This is so exciting! I haven’t stayed at the Swan since 2011 and to have a newly freshened room makes it that much better.

Not likely but always worth asking. If none, ask what price might get an upgrade. Possible low cost depending on occupancy. Always worth asking for both.

Almost always Zero chance and even Titanium Elite or Ambassador Elite have problems at the Swan or Dolphin or even the new Swan Reserve. They are resort level properties vs just a regular Marriott property.

I'd say it depends on what type of upgrade you're looking for. If you are just wanting to go from a no view room to a resort view room, I'd say your chances are good. I always book no view rooms and I've always gotten rooms with what I consider to be good views. If you're wanting an upgrade to a balcony or a suite, that's probably not going to happen. Having said that, I did get upgraded from a no view room to a 1 bedroom suite last year, but it was only a 1 night stay and I let them know that it was my birthday. Also am Platinum now, but other than that 1 time, I haven't noticed any difference in the room type or view as when I was Gold Elite.

Hello everyone!
It has been 13 years since my wife and I last had a Disney vacation. My daughter just graduated from College and my son has enrolled in the Disney internship program for the fall semester of his junior year. We have decided that we owe it to ourselves to plan a fun trip for just the two of us (and we can hopefully visit our son somewhere in the parks.)

We are planning for the first week of November and want to stay at the Swan. I am looking for room recommendations that will give us a balcony view of the BW, waterway and walking path. We are going to check with...

I've been upgraded to a resort view room at both S/D during my last couple of stays as gold, but it's always been during times where rooms are not sold out. I always do mobile check in so I can see in the app when I get my room that I was given a resort view room (I always book no view).

Always book what you want and expect no upgrades- and that goes double for Swolphin. Even if they are available by some fluke- lots of people staying will be higher status than you. The higher your Marriott status the more likely you are to be aware of, and gravitate towards, Swolphin. Especially Plats and above as they get the breakfast credit. Frankly that leaves gold so low it’s barely acknowledgeable.
