From July 19-22 was our son's graduation present to Disneyland. Just mom and son. Dad stayed home with puppy. Sorta last harrah for mom and son before he heads to college. We have been to Disney World many times. First time to Disneyland.
July 19 Had non stop flight to LAX from Milwaukee, Wi. I had hired Tony the Limo King to pick us up. James was there to get us. Stayed at Candy Cane Inn. Our flight landed at 11am. My goal was to be in the park by 2pm. We made it in by 12:30. The hotel had a great shuttle but we never used it. Was such a nice walk. We stayed at Disneyland until it closed at 11:00pm. We were pretty tired after being at the airport by 7am that morning. We got a lot of rides done first day and had Balcony Fantasmic Dessert seating. Loved it. I didn't get to eat much dessert though because I taped Fantasmic and fireworks. Only so many hands.
July 20th Early Entry. Already at the gates by 6:40am. Between the 2 parks did everything. Closed Disneyland at 11 again. We really go every ride and show done that we wanted. Had a lunch Reservation at Blue Bayou. Split an entree so I could have Dessert. Had triple Creme brulee. Loved it. Saw Jack Sparrow in the park. He was amazing. Got our place in front of castle at about 8:15. With just 2 of us got a great spot. Got the announcement twice about possibly cancelling the fireworks because of high winds. Then got the announcement that it would be delayed. Then got the announcement that it would be starting shortly. Everyone cheered. Absolutely loved them.
July 21 Got up early again and to the park gates by 7:30. Redid everything in both parks that we wanted to do and that night saw Electrical Parade. Watched it in the back of the park so we could see the beginning right away. As soon as we saw last float come out we hustled over to Disneyland in enough time to watch fireworks again. Got great standing spots again because there were only 2 of us. I guess we were quite lucky that the fireworks did happen all 3 of our nights after reading other reports for July. Park was open until Midnite. We made it till about 11:30. It had been a long 3 days. At 18, he can just keep going day after day. At 48 I'm usually right there with him but by 11:30 on day 3 I needed a rest. At Disney World we just keep going day after day.
July 22 Picked up by Tony from Tony the Limo King at 9:30am for our flight back home to WI.
Would love to go back some day and see other things in California also, but now time to start planning that next trip to Disney World.
My son and I are disney fanatics and we both loved it. We have been taking him to Disney World every year since he was 5 years old. Sometimes twice in a year. I really do believe that when he is finished with college that he will work for the Disney Corporation. There are definitely things we like better at Disney World and others at Disneyland.
Any questions just ask. Everything went so smooth for our first time. Like I said we are Disney World veterans but this was definitely different.
