The Star Spangled Banner -- always has since I was really little. I don't know why.
Goodnight My Angel by Billy Joel -- the last lines just kill me "Someday we'll all be gone but lullabies live on and on, they'll never die, that's how you and I will be."
Billy Joel's Lullaby has gotten me ever since I was engaged! My Dad and I danced to it at my wedding! Still makes me teary....
Star Spangled Banner is a given, especially if we are at a USAF function and DH is at attention in blues.
Proud to Be an American is also on the list....
And one that makes me a blubbering idiot is the Air Force Hymn (NOT, Off we go into the wild blue yonder) but another touching Hymn that they sang at mass at the end....while DH was in Saudi for a year on remote, my Mom had to peel me out of church when they sang it,I was such a mess!.... (and DH isnt even a Pilot!!)
The U.S. Air Force Hymn
Lord, guard and guide the men who fly
Through the great spaces of the sky;
Be with them traversing the air
In darkening storms or sunshine fair
Thou who dost keep with tender might
The balanced birds in all their flight
Thou of the tempered winds be near
That, having thee, they know no fear
Control their minds with instinct fit
What time, adventuring, they quit
The firm security of land;
Grant steadfast eye and skillful hand
Aloft in solitudes of space,
Uphold them with Thy saving grace.
O God, protect the men who fly
Thru lonely ways beneath the sky.
