I'm sure we've had this thread before, but you might have some new ones or new people might have some. What songs make you cry?
My three main ones are:
If Tomorrow Never Comes
Still Holdin' On (Clint Black)
and
Tears In Heaven

James Taylor Fire and Rain, everytime I hear that song, I am in tears before it ends.

The two that do it most for me:

Could I Have This Dance by Anne Murray...tears of joy as that was our first dance at our wedding. My DH and I may not dance much but he's been my best friend for going on 13 years and I cherish every day I have with him.

The Star Spangled Banner - I choke up every time I hear it knowing how many lives have been lost defending this great country of ours.

I'm a dyed-in-the-wool metal/punk guy.

But "The Good Stuff" kills me. (It's a country song. Don't know the singer's name.)

Maybe it's because I have a new daughter.
AHEM... (Back to punk/metal stance.)

Let us never speak of this again. ;)

"The Good Stuff" is Kenny Chesney and it is an awesome song....made me cry the first couple of times I heard it, too.

Amazing Grace especially when played on bagpipes. There is something so mournful and sorrowful about the bagpipes anyway, and this song, oy. Kills me every time.

Fire and Rain, got to me today...I bawled my eyes out.
Creed's HIDE does it too...
as does Tears in Heaven and Let the be Peace(religious)

To Where You Are - by Josh Groban

The song came out when my dear grandfather died. I tear up every time I hear it!

I know it's odd, but Pink Floyd's "Wish you Were Here" kills me. I found a tape in my brothers room with only this song on it. It was right after he died.

I don't think I'll ever hear it and not cry...

There's also a song that came out about the same time by the "Escape Club" but you never hear it any more, now I can't remember the name of it... That's going to bug me all night!

My Top Ten tear jerker songs, in no particular order:

1. Butterfly kisses by Bob Carlisle (just because)
2. One More Day by Diamond Rio (I love the Dale Earnhardt tribute remix)
3. Angels Among US by Alabama (just because)
4. I'll Be There by the Escape Club (makes me think of my dad)
5. Go Rest High on That Mountain by Vince Gill (my dad again)
6. I Will Remember You and Angel by Sarah McLaughlin
7. Don't Take the Girl by Tim McGraw
8. Please Remember Me by Tim McGraw
9. Tell Me I Was Dreaming by Travis Tritt (Sentimental favorite sad song)
10. Nothing Compares to You by Sinead O'Connor

I love sad songs. :)

OH MY GOSH!! Jules, that's it!! You posted this the same time I did. That is just too weird for me!!!

Thank you anyway!

The Baby by Blake Shelton. OMG, the first time I heard that song, I was a blubbering mess. I am my mommas only baby.

Most anything by Red Sovine tears me up. My all time favorite is Daddy's little girl though. I think this is because I never knew my dad.

I will buy you a new life by Everclear because it is pretty much my life. My husband bought me a new life.

It's your love by Tim McGraw because it is my song to my husband.

Don't take the girl still chokes me up too. It came out when my stepfather was in ICU after a very bad car wreck. There was a father and his newborn baby living in the ICU waiting area because the mothers organs had started shutting down. They ended up pulling the plug on her. I can't hear that song without thinking of that beautiful baby girl with a head full of cold black hair. Whew, here come the tears now.

Come What May from Moulin Rouge

Gollum's Song from Two Towers

To Where You Are:Josh Groban

Time to Say Goodbye by Sarah Birghtman and Andrea Bocelli

Amazing Grace

Star Spangled Banner
