I kind of hoped they played that at the bar at the Disneyland Hotel....got thrown out of there once, no last call music, just a "you have to leave now" and that was at 1:30 am, 30 minutes before they are legally required to close. Disney being Disney, they don't want any violations. We were at the Grand Californian in December, our server says the policy is the same. Also said they had to take out the mini bars from the rooms because of how many under age people were getting drunk from that liquor, then passing out in the lobby or bar.

When I was in high school in the late '50's this was the last song at the sock hop. I think it could apply to a bar also. Indiana taverns closing time is 3:00 am, so the song really applies to that. I'm old and the closing time hasn't meant anything to me for 30 years.
The bar I used to go to in college would play "American Pie" as the last song of the evening. We would all put our arms around each other, sway back and forth, sing at the top of our (drunk) lungs, down the last of the drinks and as soon as it was over the lights went on and the staff all shooed us out the doors.
A popular band on our party scene in the 80s and 90s used to close the night with their own rendition of "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye". The whole crowd would sing along to the chorus, especially towards the end of the song when the chorus is repeated over and over, and there was always a huge drumroll at the very end. It was a fitting close to the night's festivities.
