A little bored today. I'm going through itunes looking for songs about California, or songs that make me think of California(I know, I know. Songs like Hawaii Five-O are obviously not about California, but it has that beach vibe). I actually have a separate "California playlist" on my ipod. So, here's what I have...

Any other good songs about California I should have?

I didn't see California Dreaming by the Mamas & the Papas which was my first thought.

Hotel California? Is that there?...

agnes!

Sheryl Crow says she's talking about LA in "All I want to do"

I also think "Soak up the Sun" is about California even though she doesn't mention it by name.

Journey "When the lights go down in the city"

Tony Bennett "I left my heart in San Francisco"

It's not specifically about California but I always think of Wipeout by the Safaris.

"Valley Girl" by Moon Unit Zappa.

"Going to California" by Led Zeppelin

I just remembered "Do You Know the Way to San Jose" by Dionne Warwick and "I Am I Said" by Neil Diamond.

My brain keeps thinking of songs. Now I have "LA Woman" by the Doors stuck in my head.

"It never rains in Southern California" by Albert Hammond & Neil Diamonds "I am... Said I" starts with a New York boy living in L.A. They are both kind of sad though!!!

I thought this thread was going to be for a school project so being a 5th geration californian the first thing that came to mind for me was an old settler song we used to sing before the start of the school day 30 years ago. I can't rmember all of it but it goes something like California here we come, right backwhere we started from.... LOL. I guess that isn't what you were looking for though.
