Hello!

I'm looking to get feedback on Song airlines compared to Jet Blue. I've heard such wonderful things about Jet Blue, however I just checked prices for Song and I'd save $110 flying with them and we'd be able to leave at 7pm our last day there, giving us a full last day.

I've heard both have the TV's which is great since I'm traveling with children (10 and 12), but does one have better service than the other?

Thanks!
Stacy

Having flown with Song and JetBlue this year, the $110 would be all I would need to see. All things being equal, that much savings is worth giving up a bit of the 'warm and fuzzies' we get (and which I LOVE) from Jet Blue. I just love a bargain more!!!

Money talks!

Song is very nice even though Jetblue is too. I would have no problem going to one over the other for price.

If they were the same price, I'd probably go with Jetblue.

We've flown with Song twice now and are booked for this August. We really like them. I'm curious tho....now that the Song planes have the tv's in them, if all things were equal, why would you choose JetBlue over Song? I guess I'm asking based on the 'warm fuzzies' comment. What is so special about JetBlue? There are people I know that love JetBlue and will fly only them. I was just curious and figured those of you who may have flown both could tell me the differences. thanks.

Since I mentioned the warm fuzzies--I'll take a stab at it.

Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) I dealt with at JetBlue, from the curbside checkin, to the gate agents, to the FA's, to the baggage handlers (waving at DS while he watched them out the window) to the Pilots (shook DS's hand as we were deplaneing) was just so NICE. It was a step above most customer service. When they have snack and beverage service, they leave you the whole can of soda. They have these really cool Blue Terra Potato chips. DS really liked them, and he asked the FA if he could have another bag. She brought him another bag, and then later in the flight, dropped a white plastic bag on his lap with 6 more bags in it!

They board and deplane through both the front and rear doors where it is logistically possible, so that makes that process much quicker.

I just really like the vibe with Jet Blue. But, $110 is a pretty significant amount of money, and Song is just fine too.

debster812....thanks for the reply. That all makes sense to me. We did get good service on Song and for the most part everyone I've come in contact with has been terrific. But, the whole can of soda would be nice. And those chips do sound good. My brother flew JetBlue and said it was terrific. I also have a friend that flys a lot for business and says he hates Song and always flies JetBlue. Says they are just more professional. Thanks for the thoughts.

I am not happy with JetBlue today! I booked our December tickets with them last month. Checking the flights today, as I do every couple of days, I find that both flight times have been changed. Flight times were a MAJOR factor for me. I had a 4:00 ish flight out of Boston on a Friday, (only have to pull the kids out of school a little early); and an 8:00 PMish flight out of Orlando, allowing us a true full day. Now I am seeing 2:30 and 5:30, respectively. I am not a happy camper...no warm and fuzzies here!

I know, I know...there are no guarantees; there is always the chance of schedule changes... buyer beware, right?

I'll get over it.

We booked Song for our upcoming trip in a couple of weeks. We've been flying JetBlue for a few years now, but their fares where higher than Song's. We actually saved over $200 on the three tickets.

And....JetBlue only operates out of Kennedy here in New York and Song flys out of Kennedy and LaGuardia; the latter being closer to our house.

So we'll see.

On a quick side note:

Song is hemorrhaging $. They have started to cut back on flights. I'd be very careful booking over 6m out with them.

;)

p.s. Jet Blue starts LaGuardia service in September. ::yes::

Thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure to monitor our flight for the 17th!

Great news about JetBlue coming to LaGuardia!! Thanks again!!

Returned home last night from our experience with Song- we would rather walk than fly with them again. The employees are less than attentive unless you buy the food that they are selling. We were shocked to find the flightdeck cabin opened and have the pilot and then the co-pilot come out for coffees during the flight. We will not be flying with Song again.

Jet Blue is only flying to Ft. Lauderdale from LGA in September. Are they planning on adding Orlando too? I was going to book Song from LGA for November but now I'm getting nervous now that I've heard they are having problems. FYI, we flew them from Bradley in January and had a great experience.

Regarding the pilot coming out...that happened on my Song flight Tampa to LAX (and I remember once upon a time when it was the rule, not the exception :( ), but the entire time the captain was out, the entrance to the galley/restroom area near the cockpit door was blocked intentionally by the drink cart and no one was allowed up there. I didn't really see a problem with it. I haven't flown Jet Blue and have heard great things about it, but I sure found the Song flight attendants to be friendly and attentive...and I got the entire can of soda every time!

I haven't flown Song.

I LOVE JetBlue.

IF Song flew out of Buffalo, and there was a $110 difference, I'd try Song. I'd be very wary, because I've had NOTHING but bad experiences with Delta (correct me if I'm wrong - Song is owned by Delta, no?) - but I'd give them a shot!
