My chidren's father (my ex) is currently deployed to Afghanistan, and before that was in Iraq with only about 6 months in between. My children are teens and preteens and often do not email or write as much as he would like them to so usually about every two weeks I send him something with all their accomplishments and what they are up to. It is amazing to me that the kids will get a phone call from him and they forget everything they are doing! I got a email from him recently and he sounds a little bit depressed which is certainly natural. In it he thanked me for taking care of the kids and how much he is missing etc etc. I thought I might try to put together a CD for him with a bunch of pictures from soccer games, playing on the skateboard he sent them, stuff like that. My brother suggested having a song in the background and I can't think of a single one! He is more into the harder rock songs and everything I can think of is country or slower rock. I can't find a happy medium. I actually was thinking of putting "Carolina on my mind" by James Brown. The kids are here in NC. The kids don't have any suggestions though they are thinking. Do you have any suggestions for songs for this type of thing? I want it to be happy or uplifting.
Thanks
