Hi,

Just got back friday from WDW. We gate checked the stroller and when we arrived in MCO it was dimolished :(

Was going to be a pain as the baby is 4months old and the stroller was part of her travel carseat system.

Anyway, went to the Delta baggage office which was right at the baggage claim area and yippee I was the 1st one there. I explained what happened and showed them the stroller and they tried to talk me into renting a stroller and they would order the parts for mine, ummmmm no way, you broke mine and I am getting a new one. They actually were very helpful after I stood my ground and they authorized me to spend $200 on a new one and they said all I had to do was fax a copy of the receipt for the new one. I also had to leave them the broken one.

Good thing we had rented a car cause we drove all over looking for one I liked.

Of course I am still waiting for the money BUT they were helpful. They also said it would be safer to repack the system back in the box and check it on the plane which we did and it was fine.

We have traveled alot with the kids and this was the 1st time I have had a problem.

WOW! Sorry to hear about your old stroller, but I am so glad that the airline came through for you.

I need to write to Song about a similar complaint. My son uses a companion chair, which is an adult wheelchair without the big wheels on the sides (so he could not push himself). If is much lighter to lift in and out of a car,and to push then a wheelchair. We boarded Song at LaGuardia. Imagine my surprise when I looked out the window from my seat, and saw them piling up about a DOZEN strollers on TOP of my sons chair, to use my sons chair to move the dozen strollers over to the loading area of the plane! I SWEAR this happened. It sounds like I made it up! I closely looked at the chair, and saw no damage, and of course, I was in a rush to get to WDW, and said nothing. (We also landed late at MCO, like 9pm, so we were all tired). The arms are covered in a vinyl, and easily could have been torn, IMHO. Not to mention the weight on the air filled tires of the chair.

I need no compensation, I just want to complain about the procedure!
