Son obsessed with Jack Sparrow...HELP!!!

We are going in June and the POTC ride is closed. It's our first trip so he doesn't know about the ride. He wants a Jack Sparrow shirt before we go so he can wear it the first day. Any suggestions where to get one? Also, is the POTC gift shop open? If not, is there anywhere to get some Jack Sparrow stuff while we are there? Wasn't sure where to post this so I figured I'd start here.

If you have a HOT TOPIC they have lots of JS shirts .I just bought a PotC jacket and DD a shirt off Disneyshopping .Clairs also has some stuff like notebooks and lanyards.

The store should be open and they will have stuff at other parts of WDW with the movie coming out so you should be good.

The Bibidi Bobidi Boutique in DTD has a pirate section for the boys. I saw on the board that they have a life sized statue of Jack Sparrow and I think they also have pirate themed merchandise in that part of the store.

When in June are you going? If it is mid to late June, POC might be having a soft re-opening. I would hope for the best but prepare your son for the worst, that it is closed.

We are going June 19-25! I never thought of the soft opening! That'd be cool! Especially if there is a life size Jack Sparrow . I'm glad to know about the boutique. I never would've thought to take a boy in there!

HT had some real nice detailed action figures as well we were lucky enough to tour this boat and get a fix a few weeks ago.

If you have a car, and its not too much trouble, stop at the Caribbean Beach Resort. They have alot of POC stuff in their shop. My husband got a really cool POC shirt (though it doesn't have Jack Sparrow on it).

We just came back from WDW on Friday. The World of Disney shop at Downtown Disney has an Adventure section with pirate treasures and all kinds of POC stuff. They also had POC stuff at the Emporium in the MK. We stayed at POP Century and they had POC stuff also. If you are renting a car, try the Walmart on 192, they had some Jack Sparrow stuff also. I got a Jack Sparrow t-shirt there on the day we arrived.
We never made it to Adventureland so i am not sure if the shop right outside the POC ride was open or not.

If you have a Toys R Us by you they have POC action figures for the up coming release of the new movie.

It's actually the World of Disney store in DTD. They have a Bibbiti Bobbiti Boutique section for girls and an Adventure Room for boys. But there's no life size Jack Sparrow in the Adventure Room.

The store outside POTC is open during the refurb.

We just got back also, and yes the shop at the ride is open! We took the Keys to the Kingdom tour, and that is the ride you usually take during the tour, but we rode HM istead. But back on thought... our wonderful tour Guide Abby said that Johnny Depp comes to Disney often. I asked if he would be there on the 7th she said he is not scheduled but would not be suprised if he was! I told DH that I have to go and see!! The have an awesome board game, its a treasure hunting game. We snuck it home for DS(Christmas) Can hardly wait!

My son got an awesome Captain Jack jersey from the POTC gift shop. He also got a medallion (the missing piece of gold that Elizabeth wears around her neck) necklace that looks just like the one in the movie. They seem to really be promoting all things pirate, so I would think the gift shop would be open.

There is a "villains" store on Sunset Boulevard at MGM that for some reason stocks a pretty good amount of POTC stuff.

There's a story in a newsletter I got from DVC that says Jack Sparrow will appear three times in the ride when it reopens, and the pirate ship captain will be replaced with Geoffrey Rush's character.

Lol...probably for the same reason that I am obsessed w/ Will Turner, I suspect?

Anyway, yes, you can still get PotC merchandise there. My suggestion is to try the stores in Downtown Disney (the one w/ the water-squirting Stitch outside). They recently renovated it to make it PotC themed and there are load of shirts, themed toys (including J. Sparrow figures) and even animated statues there.

Just wanted to add that we just bought my son 3 POC t-shirts from Target over the weekend. I don't think they had Captain Jack, but they were POC. One of them has a glow in the dark skull and crossbones. They were pretty neat.

If you take your son to DisneyQuest, there is a virtual PoTC attraction there.. Pirates of the Carribbean : The Search for Buccaneer Gold or something like that. (I know I screwed that name up...)

Get Out! Glow in the dark skull and crossbones!!!!!!!! He'll have a grin so big you'll be able to see it in the dark! I'm going to look for that one before we leave. I'm not going to tell him it glows until we get on RNR and point it out!
