Something special for the wife

If my husband bought me a Dooney and Burke purse, I would KILL him for wasting that kind of money on a purse....so you definitely have to know your wife! lol I like the idea of a nice piece of jewelry made from Pick a Pearl. That would be my first pick out of the suggestions given!

et the week play out..see what she enjoys and why items she comments on in the shops. Then get it on the last night to thank her. It will have more meaning that way because you've focused on a particularly part of the trip that she liked or an item that she saw but didn't want to spend the money for (on herself).

This! See what she points out that she likes while you're there then buy it for her! Say you have to go to the bathroom then run back and buy it!

I wanted to do something nice for my wife one year as well. After a lot of thought I called the disney florist and had the "Make her a princess" bouquet sent to POR. The bouquet is a flower pillow made of white carnations and it has a real crystal tiarra and a glass slipper on it. (when I say crystals, I mean fake ones of course). plans changed, but we were going to take a carriage ride around the resort and the driver was going to stop half way and get the hidden bouquet. Then he was going to bring it over and say " I believe we found the lady's slipper". This all changed as plans usually do at WDW and we wound up at "Ohana on the night we were supposed to have the ride. They assured me it would be just as nice there. During dinner, the head waiter came out to us and talked with us. My wife said " that was strange, he didn't go to anyone else". I just said we must be special. Our waitress was in on it and we had a plan to have the bouquet brought to us befor dessert. When the time came, we looked up and saw a parade of people coming towards our table, each holding something different. One had wine in glasses, another had chocolate covered strawberries, and they were followed by the head chef holding the flowers and tiarra. He got down on his knee and said the part about finding the ladies slipper. My wife was VERY surprised and people all around us were clapping. It was a great feeling to see her so happy and our daughter still talks about the time that mom was made a princess! Sorry such a long story but it was well worth the cost.(around 150.00) Just a suggestion...others may vary. Also, I didn't expect all the extras like wine and strawberries, or even the slipper quote, but it was a nice touch. Disney is Awesome!

I agree with the Pandora bracelet. Disney makes some beautiful charms for it. Plus it's like a never ending gift idea. Birthday? Pandora charm Christmas? Pandora charm Anniversary? Pandora charm Mother's Day? Pandora charm.

I have one and LOVE it. You could get her the bracelet (they come in everything from platinum to colored leather) and a Disney charm to go with it. You know your wife, but I opted for the leather for the more casual, everyday look. Mine is a pearl purple (purple is my thing).

You should teach my DH something!! Memory maker, disney jewelry are nice ideas. Not sure where you are dining, but you can get a Cinderella Slipper dessert (available at GF restaurants, Cinderella Royal Table).

That is so sweet! I bet she felt amazing in that moment.

I agree with this, as well as the idea for flowers... all they do is die, and certainly can't take them home as a reminder. Just the fact of spending the time with the family would be enough for me.

This almost made me cry! Good for you for doing something so special for your wife!

OP, I like the idea of a special desert being brought to you table one night and a piece of jewelry. You are very sweet for thinking of her.

You can hire a certified Disney sitter. They are great. Take her out for a night alone without the kids to one of the parks, go eat etc.

Ok, so we leave tomorrow... I want to find a piece of jewelry that you can only get at a park. She like Alex and ani... Are there any bracelets that you can only get there? What are the best parks/stores to look at?

I like the idea of the pick a pearl, but she is not very big on pearls. Any other suggestions would be amazing! She has entered total stress mode for the trip, and I want her to know that the boys and I are so thankful!

Well, my teenagers bought me a big purple Mickey head balloon. My DH bought me a beautiful tiara from an upscale store on Main Street last week.
Good Luck with whatever you do.

I'd hesitate to do something that might throw her schedule off. If she has planned in some downtime, maybe make a spa reservation (if that's her thing) but let her know about it in time to cancel. That's why I think something like a nice purse (Dooney & Burke) or jewelry would be nice. You could take her into the store and let her pick something out or note what catches her eye. Maybe even some nice Disney champagne flutes with some champagne in the room (and you can bring the flutes home). I have to confess that I am super practical so flowers in the room would be nice but I'd rather have the money for something I can take home. :P

ETA: As you mentioned the alex and ani bracelets, did a quick search and this site has a list of where they can be found in WDW with the WDW charms. Have fun! http://www.alexandani.com/blog/alex...neyland-disney-world-park-specific-locations/

I will be going to Disney with my kids over my wife's birthday. I wanted to do something nice for her. I got her Alex and Ani bracelets with Mickey charms and the initials and birthstones of our kids. I also booked dinner at California Grill for 9 PM so we can watch the fireworks after at 10 PM. Luckily, my sister in law will be able to watch our kids that night. We will also be going to Cinderella's Royal table for breakfast the following morning. I got her the royal princess package. That is a cute package that comes with a princess cake a balloon and a Tiara. think that will be exciting for her and the kids.

My wife loves Downtown Disney. She can literally spend hours in the World of Disney (everything from Disney apparel, jewelry, toys, household things, and much more) and the Christmas Shop. If she finds a special something that she really likes, but decides not to buy it (for whatever reason) I try to sneak back around and pick it up for her. I do the vacation planning, but she does so much the other 51 weeks that I like to do something to make her feel special each trip.
