I'm the mom and it's a belated "gift" for me. We can visit on Monday, May 16th for the day. I want to do something different/special. I have't seen WOC and the dessert party looks okay. I haven't seen PTN and I don't like Disneyland food generally. I know we can get a dinner at BB or a take out and get priority viewing for PTN, but I think I wouldn't enjoy the food.

I think I'd like the food from the dessert party at WOC and the parade at PTN, but since those two don't go together, not sure if I'll do either. I really don't care to see WOC. I loved the electric parade back in the day. So, PTN might be nice to see. My 2 companions have a lot of food restrictions and it's nearly impossible for them to eat anything anywhere. They can't have gluten, which is very easy to deal with at Disney, but now they can't have nightshades, either. It seems like everything has nightshades or is seasoned with nightshades. That makes buying dinner for the viewing for PTN a waste of money.

Are there any other special things to do that are unique? We often hang out at Trader Sam's, but since that is more of a regular activity for us, I was hoping for something else. Are there any tours that offer priority viewing of PTN? Any tours besides VIP that are special?

How about a spa treatment at the Mandara Spa in the GCH? Or maybe a tour? Some of the tours do come with a light meal, so you would want to check what the options would be for your friends. PTN is very fun to watch. If you don't mind being in the second or third row for standing viewing, it is fairly easy to get a spot without too much waiting. The areas by IASW would let you watch the parade and fireworks, too. If you do a character breakfast and note the special dietary needs, a chef can discuss the problems with you and cook something individual for each friend to prevent any cross contamination. If you enjoy drinks at Trader Sam's, how about cocktails in the CC lounge? Or wine flights at the Sonoma Terrace?

I have planned a late Mother's Day surprise for mom for our first visit! I booked the WOC dinner package at Ariel's Grotto for May 24th.
