Something Romantic to Do?

I'll be traveling to Disney World in December where I'll be seeing my LDR boyfriend (he'll be staying with me at Pop Century during my stay). I was wondering, what are some good, fun, romantic things to do at Disney outside f the obvious dinner. I really want to do something special for him. Money isn't a HUGE issue (I've been saving a little to afford something nice), I don't want it to be outrageous.

Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all in advance!

My two thoughts:
#1: If money isn't TOO much of an issue, splurge on a night at a fancy dinner, I'd suggest making reservations at Wolfgang Puck's in DTD and ask for the upstairs. While you're there, if either of you are any sort of aficionados of liquor, you can try the King Louis XIII, it's $109 a shot! Well worth it though, my DH and I did it on my birthday, definitely something I'll remember.
#2: If you're not into dinner, why not take in a show, you can get tickets for Cirque du Soliel, or even something off property from Disney and see if the there's anyone playing at the Hard Rock up at the Citywalk, if you're into music that is.
Just my thoughts, not too creative, but they're thoughts.
OH! And while you're there, if you want a good italian restaurant, I know, it's not my place, but I think Ciao Itaila is the best, it's right off International Drive, don't remember the exact location, but it's to die for IMO.

Romance at WDW just seems to happen, it's not necessarily planned. Sometimes, it just seeing your partner's inner child come out to play. I will never forget seeing Corey's inner 4 year old run up the street to go hug Pooh. It's a memory that still gets me. I love seeing that sweet uninhibited side of her, which the real world tends to bury pretty deeply. I love being able to walk around holding her hand in a place that feels so safe. I enjoy just having the luxury of spending time with her that is all about just enjoying each other and our time together, which is so limited due to her job.

Yes, we enjoy a good meal at LeCellier, Raglan Road, Kona Cafe, or Rose & Crown. We loved La Nouba too. If there are any good movies coming out during your stay, you could even have a movie date night. http://www.moviewatcher.com/theatres/theatre_information.jsp?unit=572

Happy planning!

You're going in December, right?

Catch the "castle lighting ceremony" when they turn on the "Magical Icicles" covering Cinderella's castle. It'll send shivers down your spine.

And of course, holding hands and watching Wishes or Illuminations is always romantic.

I think a beautiful meal can be the setting of a great deal of romance. For something truly outstanding and unexpected, do the degusation with wine at Bistro de Paris. It's wonderful, and certainly no the average "nice dinner out."

It takes about two hours, and you could request a window table. That would allow you to view Illuminations. :) Once dinner is over, take the long way around the WS to the exit. A lovely stroll in a nearly empty park. It's beautiful. It might be chilly, so you'd have to snuggle. ;)

I have to agree with this posting. We have been lucky enough to have many romantic surprises at WDW. One of our favorite things to do is not to plan anything and just go with the flow.

For some good quality time in December, you might want to look into eating at one of the resorts, I suggest Jiko at AKL. The Victoria Falls bar is neat for a pre and post dinner cocktail and then you can take a quiet walk on the grounds and maybe see the animals from the viewing area. We also had a nice, romantic time walking the grounds of the Poly. We got GOOD beers at the outdoor bar near the Luau and walked the beaches. It was quiet and there seemed to be no one else in the world, not to mention economical. Ironically, we had a romantic interlude at POP. We got cocktails (do you see the pattern - at home we are somewhat tee totalers, but we become members of Lushes of the World at WDW!) and walked the bridge to the unfinished section of POP across the Hourglass Lake. We had the sitting area all to ourselves and it was a cool night with lots of stars.

Hope you have fun!

This exact subject is actually how I found the DIS!

Take a look at my trip report. I went last year for xmas and new years. It was DBF's first trip to WDW and it's one that will last a lifetime! I did a number of different things to be romantic. There are many more I wanted to do but couldn't because of time or money. Vic and A's kinda sucked the money out of me :lmao:

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions! I think I've got a few ideas and will definitely not discount the power of a romantic dinner (though V&As is out of my budget). Again, thank you all very much!

B/f and I went to Disney earlier this month. We had reservations at Narcoossee's for 8:00. Had a great dinner with some wine. Then it was time for dessert...but, alas...the fireworks were about to start. So, we went to the dock to watch them. Then had dessert after they were done. After dinner, we did the Ferry ride back to MK to catch our bus to the resort. Great night....I found it romantic and magical.

So, if dinner's your thing, you may want to plan it around Wishes at MK or Illuminations at Epcot.

I guess that I have no sense of romance. I really want to learn to be helpful when this question gets asked because Disboards is not the only place that I find that it is often asked. Maybe I live in a different universe because I have no idea what is romantic or what romantic even means. I realize that some people say romantic when they really just mean expensive or sexual, but I get the sense that many are looking for something more than ways to blow a lot of cash to ensure getting laid when they ask me for romantic things to do at a Disney park or right here in San Francisco.

What is your definition of romantic? If I knew how more people defined romantic, I might be better able to help them the way that I would like to do instead of feeling like such an idiot when I am asked that question

Ok V & A's is out (that is a painful admission as this is one of my favorite places in the world to go). However, the absolute best thing to do at DW right now is the segway tour offered at Epcot. Go the the first or second tour of the day -- it is several hours before the parks open and it is simply the most amazing opportunity to be with the one you love, traveling through the park practically alone -- heck most of the employees wont show up for another hour or two. I and my partner went last year during the garden festival. We went on the 8:30 tour and no one else was with us. So we spent the entire mourning tooling about epcot with just two guides and had the most fun I have ever had at DW and that is a spectacular admission to make.

Have fun!!
