Something NOT to do on vacation - regardless of how good the shot might be

I like great photo ops too but

I was next to a railing on a wide part of the canyon edge but could not bring myself to lean on the rail. :scared1:

DW is still upset with me (4 years later) for taking my DD out onto this rock with me at the top of Pike's Peak.

:lmao: so here the railing is to protect the plaque from falling however many hundreds of feet?

i'll tell on myself...yrs ago we went to linville falls in nc , they have falls maybe 10 ft high in the viewing area and some rocks...i thought that was the falls ( and was pretty disappointed) and my kids wanted to play on the rocks that were right by the water. we let them thinking we were upstream from the falls, what harm could it be....then yrs later went back and realized we had been standing on the top of the big falls and my kids were playing on rocks that had they fallen into the water from would have swept them over a fall roughly 200 some ft high that is just around the corner from where we were standing...i still get a sick feeling in my stomach almost 20 yrs later thinking about it. bad mother, bad bad bad mother.
