Something different about refillable mugs...

When we visited BWV last month, whenever I lugged my mug to one of the refill spots, they never refilled the mug, but always gave me roughly the same amount of beverage in a styrofoam cup - whether coffee or soda.

That's probably for health reasons, but I found it inconvenient to be toting around the mug AND then another cup. I'd often just pour it into my refillable mug and toss the cup.

This happen to anyone else at other resorts? Thoughts?

All the resorts I've stayed at had a self service counter for the refillable mugs.

This hasn't happened to me because we didn't buy the mugs last visit to BWI but that stinks and makes me think I might just buy one for the souvineer value for our September trip there.(I love coffee in them at home. It reminds me that we will be back someday ) That is pretty wasteful. One of the reasons I love buying the mug is the conservation issue too.

Did the amount they give you fill your cup? I'm just curious because I drink way too much Diet Coke and would be making a ton of trips for refills. Another reason I love the mugs is the selfservice aspect.

This happened to us at the BWVs in October 2004, but only at the candy store. The bakery and pool bar refilled the mugs directly. The cast members at the candy store explained that it was for health reasons, but weren't they also touching the foam cups they were filling for us?

Honestly, although we found it a bit odd, it didn't bother us. Many times the amount in the cups was more than the amount our mugs would hold, so more soda and lemonade for us.

I've stayed at most of the resorts, and the Boardwalk is the only resort that handles the mugs this way.
