Hey Rose. Hang in there. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Lawrence that is terrible. At least you know you did the right thing. :grouphug:

Yeah I know and take comfort in that and beside she was more like a mom than my grandmother

Bless you Rose not many kids would do as much as your are for thier parents in the time of need and my grandmother was an example of that ( my dads mom ) cause all of her kids would not even see her while she was dieing of cancer and kept telling her she was faking and my dad was not one of them since he was killed in acident 23 years earlier and I was the only grandkid that would come to she her every weekend and I lived 80 miles away and her other grandkids live in the same town and some lived right around the corner and wouldn't even wave at her when she sat on her porch and if you ever met her you would swear she was an angel.
So big  and hope your dad gets better soon.
Thanks, Lawrence :)
Sorry to hear what happened in your family :sad2:
Glad you took the time to be with your grandma, tho :)

This article was from a few years ago, found it online.

Approximately 12 out of the 18 vaccine doses the average American child receives before the age of two contain thimerosal. Cumulatively, that’s more than 200 micrograms of mercury, which would fit on the head of a pin. According to the EPA, dropping that pin-head of mercury into 23 gallons of water would make it unsafe for human consumption. “Think about the idea of injecting your own child with levels of mercury that are thirty to forty times what’s considered safe for an adult,” Dallas attorney Andy Waters said. “And, I think if any human being thinks about that very long, they recognize that this is something that never should have happened.”
Yes, I have heard this with the Thimerosal, linking it to autism.
If you spread out the injections for the MMR(doing it all separate), then they don't use the thimerosal and it is alot safer. THat is from some research I heard.

I know some u can download maps to keep them current, etc. figure i'll wait until "next" black friday & score.

I bought my DH a GPS for Christmas 2006. I noticed in 2006 & 2007 that the best deals on most electronics (& other stuff) were before BF. Much better than after BF. You may want to start looking a little earlier.

I agree about not making them think it is forbidden and I would never do that. I did it and I am no hypocrite. But with the alcoholic uncle being around them so much it pretty much disgusts Mikey so I try not to do it around him unless it is a special occasion.

When Chris was a senior there was a group of kids drinking at one of his friends house with the parents there. The parents plan was that the kids would at least be safe drinking there. They took all of the kids keys and would not let anyone leave. The dad had gone to bed, mom had gone to take one of the boys home. Well one of the girls had a spare key with her. This girl & another one, along with 2 of her sons & 1 other boy left the house. The girl was driving 90 mph on a little country road, lost control of the car on a creek bridge, flipped the car and instantly killed all 3 boys. Both girls survived, the driver only had a broken leg and the other girl is fine now but it is amazing she survived.

That's a very sad story. :sad1: My FIL is an alcoholic, but hasn't drunk in years. My DH has made a point of teaching our DS the difference between responsible & irresponsible drinking. He tries to stress what irresponsible drinking does to you & your family. Hopefully, it will sink in.

I love SC.

2 hr terminator tonight, guess i'm the only homie watching the series? it's very good.

Morning Fletch, Todd, & Lawrence! And everyone else!

So does anyone want to move to Oklahoma? I will give you some incentive.

Saturday our high was 75. Sunday our temps started dropping & the wind came up like crazy. By the end of the evening we had tornados, massive lightning, wind & hail. Our high for today was at midnight, 35. We now have blowing snow and have been told to expect 2 - 4 inches.

I know I shouldn't complain, especially compared to what so many of you have had to deal with. But how the heck are we supposed to stay well with such flucuations in our weather?????????? Oh well, I am sure they are wrong about the 2 - 4 inches. It will probably just be a dusting but I sure wish the wind would die down. I can hear it howling outside.

We're having the same weather here!

Yesterday it was 71 and sunny. . . today, rainy, freezing and 6-8 inches of snow expected

Hey everyone...

Checking in for the evening. Just went to the County Swimming Awards dinner and guess what....none of our boys showed up

But at least I got to go home early. Looking gorgeous and no where to go ;)

So I went to pick my old computer up at Best Buy Friday. They had to replace the hard drive & ac adapter again. They never called to tell me it was ready I had to call them. Before I went to geek squad I went back and acted like I was there looking to buy a computer and asked about their 3 year warranty and how it worked. The guy told me that if I brought in twice to get worked on then brought it in a third time they would replace it. I then went to geek squad and asked for my computer, told them it was the third time and it was supposed to be replaced. They said no it is the fourth time. I told them what I was told & I wanted a manager. The manager came, got the guy I talked to & still refused to give me a new computer.

Since we were really busy this weekend we didn't do anything with the computer until last night. Mikey turned on the computer and it is requesting boot media. There is something wrong with the stupid piece of crap again!

I am going to enjoy taking it back.

Lori - Welcome to Best Buy Computer Hell!! We had this issue last fall. Hubby was on phone to customer service and eventually scored a $1,000 gift card to buy a new computer. So far, this one is OK.

and just for those Food Network Junkies out there

http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/show_cc/episode/0,2495,FOOD_20077_55661,00.html

we just watched the one that they did at Universal - don't know when it was, but it was a Scooby cake, Popeye, betty boop and I forget the last one

I saw that episode a while ago. I normally don't like the Food Channel shows, but I enjoy their cake competition.

By the way - who would waste 6 hours at the park watching this competition?? Not me - I'm heading for the rides.

:)

That's a shame. Any idea why the guys decided not to show?

Catch you later.

I'm heading to watch TLC - Little People and Jon & Kate.

 to Rose. Hang in there.

:) jennifer

Never buy one from Radio Shack either they are worse than best buy cause I bought one from those guys and took it back after the second time they wouldn't fix it and then said they threw it out and couldn't find my work order :scared1:

Well, THAT'S annoying! Was the DF home at least to appreciate you? I would have grabbed him and had him take you out to dinner at least! Congrats on a great season at least! And a more relaxing spring coming up!

Totally agree. I even feel that way about things like MVMCP, etc. at Disney. But a lot is probably because we go so rarely. People I talk to who can go to WDW/Uni regularly enjoy the different atmosphere and activities from these kind of things. DS14 will watch the food channel for hours at a time, so I'm sure he would enjoy it! But I agree - I'm there for the rides. Although I do hope to sometime make it to Disney for free dining since I'm all about food (eating, not watching it being made!) too!

Incidentally, I can't remember who brought it up, but my husband got one of those razor sets in the mail today too for HIS 18th birthday! I actually read it carefully to make sure it wasn't like "it'll make you FEEL like you're 18 again" or something, but nope, just said for his 18th birthday. Incidentally Matt at 16 is a WHOLE lot closer to 18 than Royce! :rotfl:

Evening everyone.

Rose - Hang in there. You're doing what you can for your dad. Your family continues to be in my prayers.

Janet - your son paid and asked for fiscal advice? Sounds suspiciously like maturity is setting in.

Katie - How dare your guys stand you up? I'd... I'd... I don't know what I'd do, but it might involve shaving their heads in less than pretty patterns.

Hey to Todd, Marcie, Tammy, Lawrence, Jennifer, Wendy, Alison, and everyone else that hasn't checked in recently (Mac, Barb, Jodie, Lori, Tracie, Mary, Mike, Fletch... lord knows I've missed somebody...). I'm off to give Joshua his last dose of meds for the day and then go to BED!
