Morning All!

I couldn't get on the DIS last night or this morning. Was it just me?

Yeah. . .heard dh yell. . .looked up at ole Jeff was SMASHING the wall. He's ok too. Does anyone else have a husband who cranks it up?? My dh feels the need to do that EVERY TIME they have crank it up. . . and I mean he cranks it up. He was sitting right next to me and yelling and I couldn't hear him. The kids came running and the dog started barking and his collectibles were vibrating and all hello was breaking loose. . . plus the windows were open to the balmy 70 degree evening :cloud9: He goes "just like being there". I said not it's not. . that's WAY lounder than being at the track :scared1: :scared1:

RED FLAGS ARE BORING

Well I am the Nascar fan in our house. DH really doesn’t watch so I don’t have to worry him turning the surround sound up. Thankfully!

The COT is down right dangerous on the Vegas track. They were closing in on 200 mph during the practices!

They are probably going to have to make it a restrictor plate race to keep the speeds down, but I don't know if that will help with the drifting and sliding these guys are doing in the turns.

Barb, a bunch of guys got speeding penalties (driving too fast in pit row). There are VERY FEW left on the lead lap.

Very dangerous. Something has to be done before there is another tragedy because of their so called safer car.

What was the deal with all the pit road penalties!

:rotfl: i don't do the worm

do like to watch the antics of those that do;)

we never tippled in front the kiddies in the past...my standards have lowered dramatically:lmao: jr's going to be 15; figure he can handle seeing me kill a couple beers. Better to show him responsible boozin (or at least not drinking & driving) Think making it a big mystery like my parents did isn't the best idea...which is why i was sneaking off with all my friends sharing bottles of boones farm @ the age of 14 - had to taste the forbidden fruit?)

DS did find it comical on the cruise when i got my 1st fruity drink of the day, took one sip & it tasted like pure alcohol, almost spit it out...kept cutting it with fruit juice from the drink station. Stuck to a vodka & tonic from then pre-dinner.popcorn::

lori - i hate storms, be safe

Oh what a scary thought. I would have to be drunk to the point of passing out to swallow the worm. Since it would then be impossible to do I guess that will never happen.

I agree about not making them think it is forbidden and I would never do that. I did it and I am no hypocrite. But with the alcoholic uncle being around them so much it pretty much disgusts Mikey so I try not to do it around him unless it is a special occasion.

The storms weren’t bad here at my house, just some lightning & hail. Actually more hail than I have seen before & lots of rain in a short period of time.

Here's a LV track story. . . dh and I went to Vegas sans kids  for a week in the spring of 2006. We went to the track for dh to do the ride along, but it started sprinkling, so they were not doing the program that day. There was no one else around and the guys working the program were hanging around in the garage playing cards and they let me and dh go into the garage and check out all the cars. . .I literally couldn't get dh to leave. We were there for like 2 hours just looking at cars and motors and talking to the guys. We went back the next day and he got to ride and the guys were glad to see him and got out the #8 car for him :thumbsup2 It was really nice and I couldn't believe they did it. They gave him an extra couple of laps and prolly went a little faster than they were supposed to. He LOVED it. Everywhere we go he does the ride along. Next, he says he's going back to all of them and do the driving program :confused3 Guess that means I get lots more vacations.

Yep, lots more vacations for you!

oh - and dont' tell anyone - but thunder and lightning freak me out :scared1: :scared1: - I am totally paranoid and will cry at times if stuck out in them :guilty:

Then you would have been really freaked out here last night.

ERIC DID GREAT! After finishing 7th in the region, with his team 4th in the region, he was just hoping to get some experience at state. Last year he finished 69th (usually about 140-150 kids qualify from 5 regions). Well, he came in 10th and qualified for the countdown round! (Where they get to compete on stage with buzzers and all) - top 10 kids made it! He beat the first kid he went up against, but lost to the next person, so ended up 9th overall and got a big trophy.

Then his team came in 4th overall out of about 38 teams! Totally weren't expecting that! I was busy taking pics of him and trying to text them to dad and they called the team up! Really cool! The kids were obviously on their game that day since to be 4th in the region and then 4th in the state was a huge jump! And for Eric to go from 7th in the region to 9th in the state was a big leap too - he beat out all but one of the kids who had beaten him at regionals! So we were all really excited! :yay:

Way to go Eric!!!! Sounds like a great weekend.

Thanks Barb,

We aren't working with a Realtor yet, really just going to open houses and such and checking stuff out online. Its a very dry market right now and everything is such garbage in our price range.....

i will happen tho....

You have the right attitude for it. Good luck to you.

How did your brother do this weekend?

You just can't go to Mville and NOT have a MARGARITA :confused3

I will mention that Bubba has seen me drink....but I don't think he 'understands' when I've had a little much....I do a pretty good job of hiding it :rolleyes1

You don’t have to worry about that. They know I will having my margarita’s at Margaritaville. Both of them have seen me drink, it’s just not something I do often.

:rotfl2: Hang in there....you will get used to it....hopefully quicker than a couple weeks  Just have to find "your" number. ;) When DH & I were dating, and he was sleeping over my house, he had a hard time getting used to sleeping in my waterbed. Now, according to him, it's the best bed in the world.... And, just like you...when I first got it, I had to find the 'temperature' that was suitable for me. Too chilly...too warm :headache: ....found MY temp! :thumbsup2 ...it IS the ONLY bad thing about going on vacation...we really miss our bed :sad2:

Yep, it takes some time to find the right temp on a water bed. Do you adjust it any depending on the time of year it is? I used to make mine cooler in the summer when I had one.

 smart idea! I've always told DH that if Bubba is underage and wants to drink, I'd rather him do it here at home....rather than out and involve 'vehicles' :rolleyes1

As long as that is done with a brain, which I know you will.

When Chris was a senior there was a group of kids drinking at one of his friends house with the parents there. The parents plan was that the kids would at least be safe drinking there. They took all of the kids keys and would not let anyone leave. The dad had gone to bed, mom had gone to take one of the boys home. Well one of the girls had a spare key with her. This girl & another one, along with 2 of her sons & 1 other boy left the house. The girl was driving 90 mph on a little country road, lost control of the car on a creek bridge, flipped the car and instantly killed all 3 boys. Both girls survived, the driver only had a broken leg and the other girl is fine now but it is amazing she survived.

OUCH!!!

Ya turned the lights off too quik... :headache: stubbed my toe....

Nite ch'all....see ya tomorrow nite....

Oh...and if you don't see me all day, it's cuz dinner is rushed for 6pm soccer game tomorrow..... wish us luck....we're gonna need it :rolleyes1

Good luck Bubba! Have a great day Barb!

GIT UP!!!!!!!!!!!

GIT YOUR SORRY @#&*! BUTTS OUTTA BED.

RISE AND SHINE!

SOME OF US HAVE WORKED A FULL DAY BY NOW!!!!!

Are you reading my sarcasm?!!!!!!!!!

Love it! Thanks for the wake up!

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

thanks for the alarm Jodie - That is the kind of stuff that I need to get Court out of bed :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

no napping on the couch - get your butt to bed!!!

It’s what Ally & Mikey both need.

barb - i'd hang my kids up by their shorthairs if i did catch them boozin
slap.gif
...especially if they stole my stash. We always let them have a sip of whatever vino/champagne etc. on holidays to try & demystify it. Don't think either of the older 2 binge, etc. Seems to be acceptable practice with this generation that you have a designated driver or stumble home on foot:thumbsup2 . Good luck on the game tonight!

Isn’t it great to know they actually learned something. When Miranda & her friends are going out they either have a designated driver or they go by pre-arranged cab.

she loves her sleep - and would do real well working a midnight shift.....she's a flippin' night owl :upsidedow weekends are fine because she doesn't HAVE to get up at the buttcrack of dawn.......during the week is a bit different though, especially since I don't want the school giving us trouble about taking them out for vacation - they need to be early to school - be good little students
3.gif

Same here. Actually that would work better for me too!

Our mornings are pretty crazy here - I get up around 5:30 and throw in a load of laundry, make coffee, wake Kait up for the first time at 6-6:15, get online check email/DIS, wake Kait up for the second time at 6:30, she gets up and drags her butt to the bathroom to get ready......meanwhile Frank wakes up on his own by 6:45 and comes downstairs and wants to be fed. I make breakfast for him and start riling Court at 7, 715, 730, at 7:40 I take Kait to school, 7:45 keep on Court. Jim gets up at 8 and by then I am screaming for Court
8.gif
she gets up and starts stomping downstairs, eats and gets dressed. Jim is up showered and out the door by 8:20!! I take Court to school at 8:30, come home put laundry in the dryer, clean or whatever and have to take Frank to school at 12:15.

That's our schedule. Most mornings end with me like this
1.gif
1.gif
BUT there are some mornings that things flow and we get out EARLY (yes, even Court:laughing: )

Oh my goodness. What a morning! Mine both have to be at school at 8:15. I start waking them up at 7:15. Mikey leaves about 5 till and most mornings I get Ally out the door at 8:05. Every once in a while, particularly Mondays, we don’t get out the door until 8:10-8:15. She isn’t really “late” until 8:25.

BTW, the post race inspection of Carl Edwards car looks questionable and he may get docked a few points.

Oooops!

Morning All!

I couldn't get on the DIS last night or this morning. Was it just me?

I had lots of trouble with it again last night but figured it was from the storms. Maybe it was both.

Morning Fletch, Todd, & Lawrence! And everyone else!

So does anyone want to move to Oklahoma? I will give you some incentive.

Saturday our high was 75. Sunday our temps started dropping & the wind came up like crazy. By the end of the evening we had tornados, massive lightning, wind & hail. Our high for today was at midnight, 35. We now have blowing snow and have been told to expect 2 - 4 inches.

I know I shouldn't complain, especially compared to what so many of you have had to deal with. But how the heck are we supposed to stay well with such flucuations in our weather?????????? Oh well, I am sure they are wrong about the 2 - 4 inches. It will probably just be a dusting but I sure wish the wind would die down. I can hear it howling outside.

So I went to pick my old computer up at Best Buy Friday. They had to replace the hard drive & ac adapter again. They never called to tell me it was ready I had to call them. Before I went to geek squad I went back and acted like I was there looking to buy a computer and asked about their 3 year warranty and how it worked. The guy told me that if I brought in twice to get worked on then brought it in a third time they would replace it. I then went to geek squad and asked for my computer, told them it was the third time and it was supposed to be replaced. They said no it is the fourth time. I told them what I was told & I wanted a manager. The manager came, got the guy I talked to & still refused to give me a new computer.

Since we were really busy this weekend we didn't do anything with the computer until last night. Mikey turned on the computer and it is requesting boot media. There is something wrong with the stupid piece of crap again!

I am going to enjoy taking it back.

it is snowing and the daylight savings time begins this weekend.

can't remember last time we switched to dst we didn't have snow on the ground.

stayed home from skool today.

 AHHH I need someplace to RANT

Rant one . My dentist called he isn't coming to work on the 19th of March and now wants to resechdule me for the 24th of March  . I am so confused :confused3 as to what to do . I really want to push it off till school is over and I don't have to be inconvienced by taking time off of work etc. Also now I have no ride to the place and home. SO if I am not feeling pain anymore should I go the only thing is I am wordering if flying would agravate it ?? Anyone know?? I know there are a lot of :teeth: teeth issues here . :rotfl2:

Rant two ...

MY :surfweb: printer/ scanner /fax machine is giving me a hard time . It is annoying because it is also where I download my pictures from my camera's memory card. I wanted to post the new photos of our bedroom and now I can't because it isn't reading the pictures. :confused3 ... WHY ..I don't know but I am pretty sure it is something one of my DD's touched because it usually is .

I need a drink. So who was that making drinks last night ?? Maybe a trip to :worship: starbucks will make me feel better??

Gotta go shop for the kiddies . My DD's broke their hair straightner and need a new one , DH needs pens for school and a special battery for his video game and well DS needs pants that are not floods on him .:thumbsup2 He must have grown a few inches or my dryer is amazingly good at shrinking only his stuff :rotfl2: .I guess I should do this :laundy: instaed of the dryer huh ?

Be Back later .

I love SC, FL any where but NYC . I hear SC is warm today . Just got off the phone with one of my Dear Friends that lives there . Hope you are having fun there . Wish I was somewhere warmer .

What is with the teeth and/or computer issues on this thread?

Lori - Go get 'em. It is ridiculous that you have had it in to be fixed that many times and it still isn't working.

Mary - I don't know if flying will bother your teeth or not. I know that a bad sinus infection can make your top teeth hurt (been there done that). I know that flying when you have ear or sinus issues is painful (been there done that). But, I don't know if there is a connection between the teeth and flying.

I hope you get the computer issues worked out soon. We love pics around here!

My oldest daughter put hers off for several months. If it is not hurting maybe it would be okay. Did you ask the dentist? Maybe they could tell you if flying will bother you.

My morning has been fun. (I'm borrowing Jodie's sarcasm)

Brad decided to give the boys Peeps for a snack last night (I guess he turned his dad brain off). Daniel managed to smash his one little Peep all over himself, his clothes, and the carpet.

I was SO not in the mood to face it last night (remember I was enjoying my Capt & Cokes), so I pulled off the globs that I could get and left it. This morning, I started trying to deal with stale, sticky Peep goo.

This stuff won't come off. I mean, it is like glue. I scrubbed Daniel's pants and finally got them to this point:

PeepJeans.jpg

You will note that there are still white splotches on there, but they are headed for the washing machine anyway.

The carpet... wellll... let's just say that I had the bright idea to "heat" the goo in the hopes of loosening it. Hey! You know what happens when you iron Peep goo on your carpet? It gets harder and smells like burnt cat hair!

Anybody know how to get burnt Peep goo out of the carpet? :headache:

OOO Peep Goop ... I would think that you could use ICE to get it off. It could kind of work like getting gum or wax off the rug. I guess it is worth a try .

I spoke to DH while he was at work he says take the day after Easter. My sister (works in a dental office) says to take it too . It may be painful to fly and well we don't want to ruin our trip to USF/IOA:thumbsup2 . So I am looking for my other sister to get home from school and see if she can take me to the dentist. I am sure her school is off the day after Easter so it may just work out after all . If not DH says he will take off for me . Now that is LOVE ladies  .

Got one bit of good news today , the store I :worship: as much as starbucks ....Coach sent me a Coupon for 25% off and it starts this Saturday and it is MY B-Day so I am going to have to go spend my gift card. That I still have . I am a little thrilled :yay: :woohoo: . At least it is good news and not anything else.

Ok really leaving this time be back after DD 's bowling . Wish us luck we really stink and we need a win .
