i have been pricing air for my trip this fall.

i used the kayak notification and see my rate has increased by $60 in the last 2 weeks.

i didn't buy the air yet.
i was hoping for a drop in price.............not an increase.......

came back to tuck all the homies into bed.

time for forensic files, and well, i do have my priorities............

marcie, this is for you...

only 3 more work days this week.
but in your case, only 2 more as you are off on fridays.......

we are missing noses here.
head count on wednesday........

Hey...I wuz thinkin about you tonite at work...the news said southern Fla lost power due to a fire at a transformer or something like that....did that affect you? They said as far as Orlando and Daytona were affected....I know Disney runs on it's 'own' juice...but was wondering about you, DM, Tammy, Fletch.... :confused3
No...it didn't affect me. According to the news, it seemed to be mainly FP&L customers and I have Progress Energy. While some people in this area were affected, I was good.

Morning!

We're all good. Usually when they say southern Florida they are talking Miami.

You know how kids are...they get a tummy ache, or a little runny nose and think they need to stay home for a couple of days.....

Exactly - Allison - This is why we will not take DS13 out of school for a vacation trip. He misses too much with his "aches and pains" and does not do a good job of catching up with this school work.

:)

sorry....must claim to be 'square' tonite...DH was telling me a fascinating story tonite....

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Congrats...good one... you earned:

oh boy....

Sounds like you get the weather first Lori...then pass it to Tricia & Todd....just like mac gets it, passes it to Janet and she passes it to me, Mike, Tracie and Jodie :headache:

I would like to thank the Academy, my first grade teacher, my stylist, my spiritual advisor, my agent.

Seriously, I will thank Mac for starting the thread, Metro for his post, and Lawrence for his post so I could post my post. Thank you Barb!

:)

Good Morning Gang!.

We have a school snow delay here and I have a day in the office - so letting Jr. sleep in a bit. Well - now he is up and  because they "only" have a delay and not closed. Several school districts around us are closed, but not us.

Allison - Great trip and great pics. I missed THE chair outside Monsters when we were there. This why I hope to get back this summer, as I know we missed several "little" things around the parks.

Lori - hope you are able to keep caught up with us. We'll miss you while you're at the games.

Catch you later.

:) Jennifer

good wednesday hump day morning homies....

congrats jennifer.
you wear it well.......and w/ pride!

going to work soon.
i'll let the sickies sleep all day while i am gone. the sick ones at my house that is..

hi, haven't had time to read thru thread, i'll just be lurking for awhile...my mom fell (again) on Monday am (spidey senses were telling me it was going to be a dosey of a day and it was). They still aren't sure if she's broken anything or not:confused3 after ruling out hips & pelvis are now thinking knee & it's up for exam today.

Apparently, they're keeping her at least until Friday, when hopefully she can come with a walker (she hasn't been out of the bed since monday am, will need to complete rehab 1st)

problem is many old folk tend to "collect crap"; and we've been tossing stuff/re-arranging her furniture for the last 2 days (deja vu, same thing several times over the last 10 years-sigh)

as a bonus, appears as though i threw out my back, today is a break day; laundry only & dh dr appt.

that's what i get for making fun of pixie dust i suppose:guilty: , at this point we'll take all the good thoughts you can sling at us.

Good morning homies

Morning Homies!

We now have a special place at Margaritaville for our "I was here in ...". I'll post pics later.

Trip was great except for the 5 hour flight yesterday that was supposed to be just over 2. Stupid thunderstorms kept us all sitting in the airplane on the tarmac waiting to leave for over 2 hours.

Our portofino suite was lovely (no special upgrades or even any response to our email request for villa). We had a pool view and were very happy with the room. The weather was usually in the seventies. Parks weren't busy and we got to do everything.

The Pirates and Princess party was a lot of fun and not crowded. The biggest surprise was the number of adult females dressed up as pirate wenches. My son labelled them the "yo ho's". That about summed it up. We stayed at the AKL which we won't do again. What a huge waste of money that was. The room was so small (no way to fit 5 people in that room!) and we paid over $350/night. The toilet ran continuously all night which was annoying so it always sounded like someone was showering. The resort was nice enough. Disney's magical express lost our information but that worked out fine. They picked the kids up 4 hours before their flight going back which was pretty silly considering you don't go through customs in Orlando to get to Toronto.

At Royal Pacific we had a King Suite (room 1201). It overlooked the jungly area in the front and was fine. We got our welcome gift the night before we left and only after having to remind them. We had gotten our welcome gift at Portofino the first night. The little gifts at turndown at RPR were nice and the chocolates at turndown at PBH were nice too.

I think I prefer the PBH just because the bathrooms are so much larger. We found that if you walk across to the Hard Rock driveway and then through their parking lot to the parks, it is only about a 6 minute walk to Universal Studios.

Simpsons is still undergoing a lot of work. Not much to show there. The Harry Potter area is coming along nicely. We've got pictures from the top of Flying Unicorn which I will post later.

All in all, a great trip.

Thanks for the report Damo. Looks like your sister was right. Last time you did get the Villa because of her. Who did you email that didn't answer.
Good that the Pirates and Princesses thing still isn't busy. We went the first weekend and stayed at AKL but didn't pay as much.
Was your RPR room a remodeled one?

Was your RPR room a remodeled one?

I emailed Juanita and got no response. Some response would have been nice even if it was to say there was no occupancy. My sister's "connection" to Paul Leclerc must have meant something.

Our RPR room was remodeled. It was nice. I think they should change the pullout couches though. They are looking a little tired. Other than that, the room was in good shape and looked refreshed.

Sooooooo, since he forewent the anesthesia, our boy starved for no reason?? ....or wouldn't he have been allowed to eat/drink anyways? :confused3 (never had a MRI...sorry...I don't know....)

Yes, I starved our boy for no reason. The empty stomach thing is strictly for the anethesia. But, let's not mention that to him, 'kay? :rolleyes1

Oh yeah....did he get a treat or something for being SO AWESOME!!!? :confused3

Oh, yeah. He got to choose whatever restaurant he wanted on the way home. We don't have a lot to choose from in our little town, but we pass one of just about everything on the road to Atlanta. He picked a combo KFC/Long John Silvers. He thinks it is funny that he can get fried chicken (from KFC) AND popcorn shrimp (from Long John Silvers) all at the same time. :confused3

What movie did he choose to watch? Hard to believe how they 'amaze' you out of the blue.....that means he's growing up :rolleyes1 Tell him we are all VERY proud of how big a boy he handled himself! Let's just hope the results are favorable! ;) Any idea how long till you hear something? Does he have to go back to the ped. neuro...or does that depend on the results? :wizard: :wizard: (How's everyone that was sick? Carol? Mom? Deb? YOU?)

He picked Peter Pan off the list. I'm not sure why, but it was his choice. The movie played until just after the kids arrived in Neverland, and he was all done. He was in the MRI machine for about 25 mins.

We won't know the results until we go back to the ped neurologist. We won't go back to see her until after we've had the EEG, which still isn't scheduled yet.

I'm fine, just a lingering cough and still tire out too quickly. Carol is good and set to start chemo this Friday. Deb is fine. Mom is still sick. I guess at her age it takes longer to shake it? I dunno. She's been back to the doctor and he told her there isn't anything else they can do. Her body just has to fight it off.

Awww, Janet. I hope things go as well as they can for your mom. Not a good time to have back problems. Well, there is never a "good" time to have back problems, but when you need to do stuff... yuck.

We woke up this morning to temps in the 20s. If you are keeping track, it was 77 here on Monday, 65 and thunderstorms yesterday, freezing and snow flurries today.

Yes, I said snow flurries. As soon as they started falling, the boys lost their collective minds. Normally, if a dozen flakes of snow fall in a row, everything in Georgia shuts down. However, since they pulled the trigger too early last time (remember when we were the only county in Georgia that closed school?), they did NOT close school today. All of the counties around us (who didn't close last time) ARE closed.

Joshua told me that this is the WORST SNOW DAY EVER!

It's not like there is much snow on the ground. Just enough to confuse the spring plants that were starting to do their thing:

Daffodils.jpg

But, trust me, if they hadn't been stupid about closing too soon before, schools around here would be closed today. Oh, well.

Hi all-
Quick fly by....
I'm sorry I can't catch up again and respond to everyone :guilty:

Random thoughts....
Watched AI last night w/ Chrissy(she wasn't really watching the show, she was playing on her Nintendo DS). Matthew and DH were at cub scout pack meeting last night.
Anyways, there are a couple of hotties last night. THe one Australian dude- I think his name is Michael Johns. Says he is from Georgia, but I think he grew up in Australia.
And that 17 yo, David Archuleta. He was the last to perform last nite. Wow! He is good!! He is definitely going to have tons of girls trying to call him!
He is a little cutie! When he sang Imagine, the way he sang it made me cry, even before I saw Paula cry on tv. I was crying with everyone else, it was so good! What a little Italian hottie!
Another guy I thought was real good was Luke Menard- he looks like Orlando Bloom a little bit. Well I think he does.
The guys really have some competition this yr.

Other random thoughts...
I want the show 24 back on and ER back on!! :headache:
They were my faves as well as AI.:thumbsup2
I know the writer's strike had all to do with them being off tv. I think ER may come back in April, but not sure.

Gotta go to a reading and writing event at school tonight w/ the kids.

Ok, hi to all!
Gotta run, hope to bbl.
