Well gang - I am stuck on page 110 for now. Gotta get ready for my 6th day of work. Also, looks like I may need to put in some time tomorrow to get some of our bank audits done.

Janet - I said BANK AUDIT!!!!!! Here are some    to make you feel better.

Catch up on the rest of the thread this weekend.

Will have to tell you about our American Idol pool at work. The young'uns have me hooked now.

:) Jennifer

Got to agree - the clown was a whole lot scarier than the "real IT". I read this while hubby worked midnight shift - I went to bed and stayed there. Silly me, I thought as long as I am in bed and all body parts covered (no feet sticking out), that clown could not get me.:lmao:
:rotfl:

Another of my favorite short stories is "Word Processor of The Gods"....did anyone read that? Excellent and very thought provoking. That story was from "Skeleton Crew"...the whole book is good.

Morning Homies!!!

Yesterday wa a snow day here too....had my 3, plus DH stayed home and had the little girl I babysit and her bigger brother :upsidedow Full house so to speak.

Lori - I cannot get over those pictures :scared1: It is amazing - how do the kids feel now that they have been detoxed? I am afraid to think what would come out of me :lmao:

penny - barb got my back and made my pick (thanks barb :thumbsup2 ) that reminds me....need to pay for our season tickets (Sunday game plan :lovestruc )

marcie - I agree with the others that if this is indeed a "once in a lifetime" thing, then sure....do WDW. But if they truly want to save some money then no need for the hoppers and waterparks.....just the base tickets. Not too sure but I think that KSC can all be done in one day - why another?? Use that for Sea World (which has $57.95 all ages tickets and when you enter you get the second day free).

tricia and barb - hope that you guys are feeling better.....hope the sickies don't find thier way here again either

todd - any luck with the rescue groups?

jodie - hey ..... I don't do bribes :lmao: :cool1: I will just sick 'em on you when you least expect it (and I agree with Barb - have to get a pic of jodie and the beans) does mike know that 3 other families from the dis will be on vacay at the same time as you two? we need to pick a day that we can all get together and meet up.....what time do you guys get in on the 27th?

Oh - and did you decide on a car yet???

Lawrence - hope you are feeling better. we are also a family that uses the refund to plan our BIG vacation. we take 1-2 shorter ones during the year and use hotel points and whatnot (budget travel so to speak) but the spring one is the biggie and we splurge - not too overboard - still use AAA in the parks, are picky with stuff we buy (although with the Kwik E Mart selling simpsons stuff who knows) and always look for the cheapest airfare, but its still the BIG vacation.

janet - that video link is EXACTLY why I wash my cups in the rooms before we use them :lmao: blech :scared:

mac - hey homie  hope everything is going well!!

katie - I know you are with brother watching him swim....but those pics would be nice to see :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

rose - great to hear fom you guys - check in anytime - don't worry about what we blabbed about 100 pages ago :lmao: :cool1: :rotfl2:

mary - sorry the snow messed up the delivery of your bed  Oh well, we can wait for pictures.....some mummy dust so that Thursday comes quickly.

need to get some more coffee, will continue to ketchup later (but I think I have covered almost everything)

Morning Homies!

It is a beautiful day here. Too bad I don't feel up to enjoying it yet. I still have to catch up on laundry, including washing all the bedding now that we are all on the mend. I don't want to sleep in the germ beds any more.

I'm hoping to channel the boys energy somehow. Since Daniel just dumped an entire box of legos on the floor, I'd better think of something quick.

Are you sure that stapling his pants to the deck out back isn't an option? :confused3

You know...I still haven't made it over to KSC yet. I really want to go one weekend but there never seems to be time. There is a Ron Jon store at Festival Bay Mall on I-Drive too. :rolleyes1

I really enjoyed it when we all went together way back when. I was really surprised when they both came back to our resort and they said they didn't enjoy it much. :confused3 Dh's dad even worked on the Apollo program. :confused3 :confused3

My sister has been to the Ron Jon on I-drive. If they feel the need to do it again that is where they will go.

Hey Jennifer! Good to see you, even if it just for a drive by on your way to work yet again. Hope you have a good day.

Wow what a house full and on a day they were all stuck inside!:scared1:

Well the only did it yesterday evening. In fact Ally went right to bed afterwards. Mikey did say that his knees, legs and shoulders weren't hurting him like they usually do. During baseball he is always hurting so that was a big plus! May have to keep one of those machines here.

Janet - I forgot to mention yesterday that we finally got to see a shuttle launch from the beach @ BCV's last summer. It was really kewl!

Hey Marcie I keep forgetting to tell you this. If it is 25 here and the wind is not blowing that would not be cold to me either. So it really isn't that strange. Or is it?:confused3 :confused3 Maybe I'm just strange.

Oh, and have the email notifications caught up YET? I had 97 messages in my email this morning! :scared:

Time for a Carol Update
:surfweb:

Carol was supposed to start her first round of chemo yesterday, but she woke up with the flu. Mom has had it for 2 WEEKS, so it is no big surprise. Deb got it last week, now Carol. She called her doctor, who phoned her in an antibiotic and such. I hope she shakes it quickly so they don't have to postpone the chemo again.

If anything good came from it, Mom was finally motivated to go to the doctor yesterday and get something to get rid of hers. She's got an antibiotic, cough syrup, nasal spray and eye drops. Why eye drops? Oh, it turns out she has pink eye too. :sad2:

lets talk food
'k?

we have chicken noodle , turkey noodle, beef noodle, and tuna noodle. anyone done it with shrimp, like a creamy sauce over noodles? or got a similar recipe?

Yeah, it's always late for us when they are racing in California.

Okay, I'll give you TWO choices and you can pick which one sounds more to your taste buds.

Shrimp Stroganoff

1 package noodles (take your pick... wide, fettuccine, whatever)
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1/2 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 can (10-3/4 oz. size) condensed cream of shrimp soup
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste

Cook noodles according to package directions.

Meanwhile, in large skillet melt butter and cook onion until tender. Add shrimp and continue cooking until shrimp is done. Blend in soup and milk and heat through. Stir in sour cream and paprika and heat, being careful not to boil.

Serve sauce over hot cooked and drained noodles

OR

Cheesy Shrimp & Noodles

1 package medium egg noodles
2 medium onions, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
2 ribs celery, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 cup butter
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
3 cups half and half
1 1/2 pound uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
2 tablespoons minced fresh flat-leaf parsley
8 ounces Velveeta, cubed

Cook noodles according to package directions.

In a large saucepan, sautee the onions, green pepper, celery and garlic in butter until tender. Stir in flour until blended. Gradually whisk in half and half. Bring to a boil, cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.

Reduce heat, add shrimp, jalapeno pepper and parsley. Simmer, uncovered for 3 minutes. Stir in cheese, cooking 3 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Stir in the noodles and heat through.

How's that?

Never mind! Don't send our boy over there!:scared1: If it is pretty out staple him & Brad to the deck.

Morning Homies and hope the day is starting out good for all.

My favorite subject. . . I bought a new recipe book. . Fix it and Forget it Lightly. We haven't had red meat in 7 weeks and I thought I might find something decent.

So, this morning I've got 3 crockpots working :scared1: :rolleyes1

One for the kids. . .one for me n dh. . and a little one that held the left over stuff that wouldn't fit in mine. :thumbsup2 Can't waste anything . . .

So basically they are variations of diet lean ground beef, potatoes, celery, carrots, onion, corn and some cream of soup. . . that's for the kids. . . all of the above plus some whole stewed tomatoes and some low sodium tomato soup in ours. I added some fresh garlic to all, plugged them in and we will see what we have around 5:00 tonight. Kids don't like too much onion or the tomatoes, so that's why I made two crocks. .plus now we will have plent of left overs to plug in and heat up tomorrow. . . add a salad, some crusty french bread (12 grain whole wheat for me) and. . .voila. . . something different than roasted chicken and steamed veggies, which is what we eat 3 nights a week. . . at least in some variety.

My cook it lightly crockpot book has several recipes for noodlie type dishes. . .I think there's one for chicken, beef, pork and seafood. I've not tried any of them though. Gotta love crock pot cooking :thumbsup2
