and AI about to start........

see you homies later.

:) Good Mornin' Everyone!

Tuesday = Day 2 of work week.

Lounging a little longer this morning, as I am taking DS to dermatologist for 7:30am appt. WOO HOO for docs that have early AM appts so I don't have to split up my days. Being the lovely 12-13 year old boy, he is getting pretty bad acne. We used OTC stuff but didn't fix that great. (Of course, he only does a half-a$$ job). But everyone was telling me, take him to the dr. So here we go.

We have been fighting the acne since last year. This summer it got worse (because he wanted the long hair on his forehead) and we never recovered. I think now he is old enough to actually follow through with the DR.'s plan.:)

So, after Doc, I get to take him to school. Last night, he said if we don't make it to school by lunchtime, can he just stay home?:confused3 Let's see we have an appt at 7:30 and have a 15-minute drive from Doc to school. Good grief, not even a traffic tieup will cause to not get to school before noon.

By the way, did I mention he isn't fond of school. His happy days are snow delays and snow days. And snow delays aren't that great, because then he pouts because they didn't call it off completely.:confused3

So, anyhoo, due to above, I can't do my normal "audit" day. So, I am visiting another client that is a shorter drive, (and easier work). Hope to make it home earlier than usual tonight.

Have a great day.:)

P.S. Barb, where are you - I guess I will have to do my 5-minute hair routine myself this morning.

-Jennifer

Hope all went well at the doctor today. I know that has to hard on him. Don't let them put him on acutane. There are a lot of products that are complete systems that will work if used correctly. The proactive helps a lot of people and lso Arbonne has a great acne line. i would try one of those before I would use a prescription.

Dad’s doing a lot better. Actually he’s doing really well. They took him off all his diabetes medicines because of all the concerns with the kidneys and apparently he feels SO much better off of them. So now since he lost some weight in the hospital, he’s determined to keep it off and lose some more which will help get the diabetes under control and maybe he won’t need the meds (or at least as much of them). I guess he was having a lot of side effects (nausea, running to the bathroom all the time, lack of appetite, etc.) that he didn’t even really fully realize were from the meds until he was off of them. Hopefully this will help him overall! But it sounds like he's on the go a lot now and feeling great. Talked to mom yesterday and they're planning a cruise for next month now! :cool1:

Glad you dad is doing so much better. It is great that he has been able to get off the diabetes medicine. Good luck to him. hope they have fun on the cruise.

morning all!

is it me, or does anyone else get sorta green when they open the thread in the am & see pages of new posts...eeee lol

speaking of growing up, middle DS & his bud want to take a solo vacation (mini-version 4 or 5 nights); they've only traveled to Ocean City, MD; on a whim over 4th of July and got slammed with rack rates:eek: . I'm delegated the task of finding somewhere to go. They were thinking Nassau:upsidedow ; i'm steering them to Cancun (dirt cheap all-inclusives) or Vegas.

question - will a 21 & 22 year old get in trouble in either place:rotfl: (i can just hear the phone call home...i've found my future wife).

anyway, anyone have any advice on cancun?

mac - dr said to take benydryl nonstop along with antibiotic, feeling much better (other than the dopey feeling - ha, how would i tell the difference!).

lori - i used to hate kids going to ex's house when they were young. Always sent them dressed nicely. They come back in clothes that goodwill would reject and reeking of smoke & fried onions:mad: . Usually, missing the last evening meal they should've eaten too.

Oh yeah, I just love to see pages of posts when I get online.

I think I would rather they went to Vegas. Cancun for young men is just scary to me. You never know what the so called police are going to pin on you. My advice on Cancun is don't go.

Glad you seem to be feeling better. Benadryl is one of the few medicines that affects me. I can take prescription meds that will knock anyone out and they have no affect on me. Take a benadryl and I need to go to bed.

Fortunately I did not have to worry about my two oldest going to ex's, of course that meant there was no child support either. DD's ex did drop offmoney last night. I guess between my threats & her calling his lawyer he got the message.

lori - let us know how your sicklets make out!!! measels can be a scary thought......I was under the impression that vaccines were supposed to PREVENT these things, silly me!!

Took Mikey & Ally both to doctor. Waited for an hour and a half and he did nothing. Said Ally's was viral and had to run it's course. She has had this since the beginning of December. He did go ahead and give us a prescription for Singulair for Mkey but only after I insisted.

Madie couldn't get in to the doctor until tomorow so I will be taking her. Will let you know what they say.

Talked to my mom this morning and they had to take my great niece to the ER last night. She has pneumonia and was very dehydrated. They gave her iv's for a couple of hours and sent them home.

There is no way I will ketchup today. I am in a blah mood. Daniel has been possessed by some demon-child for the past 2 days and I am about ready to ship him off to Timbuktu. It is all I can do to keep up with him.

I have a headache. A nasty one. You can remove the Pre from my PMS condition. I've been trying to get everything ready for the CPA and I always feel like I am giving her way too much stuff or not enough of the right stuff. I hate having to provide things for someone when I don't really know what they do with it. Not that I want to know. I don't even want to be the bookkeeper. I was just capable and significantly cheaper (read "free" if necessary) than hiring someone else to do it.

I'll stop whining. I've got to go to the doctor's office tomorrow for Joshua's next round of bloodwork. Whee. They are supposed to have copies of all the stuff I need to take to the Pediatric Neurologist ready. Fingers crossed.

I want to eat a pound of fudge and crawl into a blanket and hide for at least 2 days.

Okay, so I didn't stop whining. ;)

You can come here to whine any time you want. Hope you are feeling better.

OK, I need to stop posting about the most MUNDANE things in my life. You'll often find me posting when I'm annoyed about something, or I don't know why I think you JUST HAVE TO KNOW when I'm getting my roots done or my teeth fixed! :bored:

My tooth is fixed now and my roots are good though. :goodvibes

Well, goodness, I hope Miss Ally doesn't have measles too! Poor thing!

Oh, if I remember correctly, we had more than just a couple of margaritas for you! Your birthday is the first day of our Disney Cruise this year, so I have a feeling we'll be drinking your share again this year as well! :thumbsup2

You post about anything you want. It was not mundane.

I hope she doesn't end up with them too. Hopefully it :happytv: is not :happytv: what is wrong with Madie either. I am not happy that the doctor would not see her today.

Oh boy! You & Mie will be drinking Margaritta's for me on the cruise & Mary will be drinking them @ Margarittaville.

I moved in with my dad & stepmom. No more $1250/month rent! :woohoo: Having roommates that rarely paid helped my Choice.:rolleyes1

Deltona is a growing city. It's still on I4, just over the St. John's River. It's an hour drive to work, but I'm only there for a few more days. :upsidedow

That is great. Glad they were there for you so you could cut out that expense until you move to Colorado.

No work today but I woke up to a huge pain in my mouth . Guess the impacted wisdom tooth has arrisen from its dormint stage and now I am in pain. It has broken through the gums and is going to have to come out I am sure . I am so :scared: chicken little to do this again as I have had two out already . The dentist is in at 12 I have to wait till then to see when she will see me and what to do .

Ouch! What is it with teeth on this thread?

it ruins my day when i don't get the email notifications.
where is the complaint box to put my gripe in?
i checked to see if test was put back from invisible and it is still non functioning. no one can say that thread has slowed down the system now.

loewsemployee won't be back. when you see that type of posting, it is for a reason. and didn't come back to answer questions she/he started on that thread.

Really messes my day up too. If you find the comlaint box please let me know.

Okay, who is this loewsemployee and what did they do? How did I miss it?

lost all my reply quotes to everyone.
oh snap, i hate when that happens.

hope the beans feel better soon. tracie, don't sleep with the beans and you won't get sick......

jodie, forgot what i was gonna say to your quote.

and hi to all the homies out there.........bbl

And that happened to me sorta earlier today. My stinkin computer decided to lock up so I lost everything. I decided then that I was copying everything over to this one and finally took the other back to best buy. They said they have to confirm the problem before they do anything to get me another one. h yeah, the piece of crap shocked me today. When I had it repaired last time they also had to replace the power box. The one they gave me started coming apart right away and kept gettng worse. This morning there were exposed wires and my arm touched them. Guess if they give me any trouble over replacing the computer I will raise a stink about it. I did mention it today when I dropped if off.

just for fun.
reminds me of my sons when they would try help each other out.

That is too cute! Reminds me of my kids too.

so, we have possible measles and pms going on, and Daniel is about to be shipped up north here, and DM is in Deltona.
Barb carries scizzors everywhere and Mac does not sleep, ever. Sharon and I both have had it with freakin' winter, as have the rest of the PA, NY and NJ families.
Maybe we should all just head to Todds for a pre tom petty party on Sunday.
:surfweb:

I am sick of winter in Oklahoma too! Also sick of the wind. It came up this morning and you could not see 1/4 mile because of all the dirt. It wasn't gusts but constant 50 mph winds.

Anyway, I say we head for Todd's too.

HELP!

What websites do you guys use for finding cheap airfares?

Also try itasoftware dot com. With it just log in as a guest.

Or try farefinder dot com.

we have gained 55 minutes of daylight.

BE HAPPY FOR A MINUTE!

I am off to dress for the interview. my usual all black ensemble.

after that, i will be stopping for cadbury eggs.

a box arrived today. i shook it to death and it sounds like a pair of crocs. not that i dont already have 10 pairs, but someone was kind and freakin' remembered me.
i will be nominating them for sainthood.

i on the other hand , will be going straight to hell , but i knew that since the 7th grade incident. or was it the 5th grade one? nope, coulda been 6th. that was a non magical year let me tell yah.......well, now that i think about it, 4th was not good either.......

Hope you get the jobb if it is what you want.

Sounds like you really enjoyed school. :headache:

very:cool1: souviee - we always have to sneak off to the bathroom & lock the door if TMI sorry?:rotfl: anyone else have a DH that has to "break in" every hotel room...think it's akin to a dog marking territory.

in mexico - a bottle of corona is cheaper than bottled water...God's trying to tell me something;)

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Well the corona is probably better for you in Mexico too.

hang on to your hats homies, winter is coming back today.........

Yep, it is here again too. Everybody try to stay warm.

The cheapest place I found my airfare for July was Delta.com and had to watch cause the prices were going up and down all the time.
One day it would say $360.00 a tix and a week later it would say $340.00 and hit $340.00 agian and I had the money thats when I bought them and I know its not alot of money but at least I saved $80.00 and last year I paid $380.00 a tix so all in all pretty good savings for a nostop flight.

Oh my gosh! I would never pay that. If I can't get it for around $200 we drive. OUCH!:scared1:

Anyways, here are some pics from Pinewood Derby last Sat.
Matthew's Pinewood Derby car- #48 Jimmie Johnson car.

Ok, I gotta run. Gotta take Matthew to afterschool band practice today, before the snow starts here.

Have a good day everyone!

Great pics Rose. Hope all is well in your world.

tricia - forgot, there were racks of #88 (Dale E.) in the aisle @ walmart today. We were looking @ all the different stuff & a couple came up beside us; reminded me of something I believe u said (although it could've been another nascar peep here)...

she to he: who's #88

he: it's dale

she: dale who

he: you know...dale who now sports #88 because of the *itch

:rotfl:

That would be me! :rolleyes1

Sorry...4:45am comes pretty damn early. ;)

Yeah, that comes very early.

the interview went well. the person doing it was no more than 22. i asked questions she could NOT answer. she wrote them down, so she could ask someone else.:confused3

i forgot to get cadbury eggs. i went straight for a cup of coffee. :rolleyes1

i am not allowed to open the box before wed. i am meeting my niece for lunch, and i hope it is crocs. or food. or food and crocs. cadbury chocolate will do.

Sounds like a fun interview. :sad2:

Penny - glad to hear the interview went well. :thumbsup2

My Dr. recently retired. I swear, her replacement looks to be about 21. Did she enter med school at 12?
How could you forget the chocolate?!?

They just keep getting younger and younger. Or are we getting older?

Actually, it was Lori that called Theresa the b!tch... but I haven't met anyone yet who doesn't think of her that way. :lmao:

:thumbsup2

I didn't eat any fudge. I mixed some Hershy's Chocolate Syrup into milk and pretended it was fudge.

I don't think I fooled myself.

Daniel is *somewhat* better. I don't want to ship him out of the country anymore. Maybe just a few states away...

Joshua does okay with the bloodwork. The doctor gave me a prescription for Lidicaine (sp?). I smear that at the bend of his arm about an hour before I take him to the office and it numb the area. He complains about the tight rubber band thing on his arm, but that's about it.

So who are you sending Daniel too?

Glad they gave you something to make it easier on Joshua. Poor little guy.

Now you need the next story. Same garage, same time day. This garage had rafters in it (not covered like a ceiling) so we'd throw all our old boxes up there, along with things like sleds, hoses, etc. We knew we had squirrels that came in and out of the garage (since the door was open during the day, it was hard to keep them out), but weren't sure why.

Well, as we're cleaning out the junk in the rafters, there's a huge computer box up there. Maybe 3 feet square, from an old computer. DH had saved the box just in case we needed it for something. (Don't think we even still had the computer, but you know how guys are!). Well, he just reached up with a rake handle and knocked the box down out of the rafters, expecting it to float down. Well, it just CRASHES down with a huge thud! DH just has this shocked expression, like maybe there WAS a computer in there that he'd forgot about it.

We open up this huge box and it is filled COMPLETELY with chestnuts! :rotfl2: Guess we found the squirrel stash!

Why do you people use email notifications? I just always log into the User CP. It seems so much easier, especially on a thread like this in which you'd never get all the notifications because people post so frequently! I just have DIS saved as a favorite right to my User CP and I can see what theads have new posts without ever even going into email. Just curious?!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I use the email notifications because it automatically takes me to the first post I missed. If I use the CP I have to go back and find the last post I read. Much easier that way.

I still have those days even thou mine are 17 and 24.

Amanda has had the strangest thing happen to her.
About 3 weeks ago, she got a phone call from State Farm Ins. They wanted to know how she was doing after the accident? Ah - what accident?
Supposedly she was a passenger in a car that was hit by a car that was insured by State Farm.
So OK, we thought well, thats strange, but didn't think to much about it.

Well, yesterday, she gets a call from Geico. They want to know if she has sent her Dr's bill to them yet? Huh? Same thing as State Farm, accept this person at Geico says that the female that was injured(Amanda) was pregnant. Well, thats definately not Amanda.

Very, very strange. They have her name, mailing address and my home phone.

DH says look on the bright side, at least they are trying to send her money, not trying to sue her!

That is vey strange.

my youngest DS had 4 fouls in the BB game, 3 in 4 minutes...the new team enforcer i suppose. Coach was so happy:confused3 as was his older bro...evidently, BB is a contact sport now.

load of stinky gym stuff to wash, grrrr.

So he is the enforcer now? Yes basketball became a contact sport about 15 years ago. I will not watch it any more.

I have a squirrel story too.

Ex DH and I were living at his family's seasonal camp for the winter while our house was being built.

We had a chain link kennel for our dog outside and the squirrels would climb all over the chain link just taunting that dog to no end.

But the worse thing was when I was looking for something in the kitchen and opened a drawer that we never used. Out popped a squirrel. I don't know who was more scared, me or the squirrel! He had chewed out a hole in the back of the drawer and had made a nest, complete with dog food. We moved out shortly after. The squirrels won!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!:scared1:

evidently they can be trained:idea:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Checkin' in.

DM - I know where Deltona is, and have been there! DH brother and SIL live there. When they first went to Florida (about 20+ years ago) they lived in Deland. Since we drove when we did our Univeral trip in 2006, we spent a few days with them in Deltona before heading back.:)

Frustration in our house tonight. The kid and the hubby are at it over homework!!!:headache:  DS does really good for about 2 days and then laziness and sloppiness takes over.

May watch a little AI tonight and hope for some peace.:hippie:

-Jennifer

Good luck with the homework. Ally lasted until Fall break. We have had trouble getting her to do her homework ever since. :headache:

How did the doctor appointment go?

Evening everyone.

This morning it was beautiful, sunny and 64 degrees. Within 2 hours this afternoon, the temperature dropped 30 degrees:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: We went from sunny and 64 to clouds with rain, lightning and tornado warnings to ice and 30 degrees. Now it is snowing, 15 degrees with 45 mile an hour winds creating wind chills of 5 to 15 degrees below.

Y'all know what they say in Illinois? If you don't like the weather. . .wait 5 minutes!!

Mac and others are getting some of this too.

I'm tired and grumps so weather suits me tonight.:rolleyes1

Hope everyone is warm and safe tonight.

Hey, that's what they say in Oklahoma too. We had those winds this morning. Stay warm & safe.

did you hear this story on the news this weekend about the kitten?

two men had identical luggage on the flight.
by accident, one man picked what he thought was his up and took it with him to the hotel.

when he opened it, a kitten jumped out. scared the crap out of that businessman.
the kitten had a collar with id on it.
he called the number and talked to a woman.
it was her kitten.

and the clothes in the suitcase were not his.

the woman had been calling her husband because she couldn't find the kitten after he left for the airport that morning. she had searched all over their place and was frantic over the kittie not being found.

the two men exchanged suitcases and the man with the kitten got her back.

later they found out the kitten had jumped in the suitcase that morning and fell asleep.
the man zipped the bag up and left for the airport not knowing it.

snap, that would startle me too having a little creature jump out of a suitcase.

moral to story:

don't be stupid and take someone else's luggage at the carousel.......

Poor kittie. I bet it was scared to death.

mac - interesting tale

i'm told (whether urban legend or not...)

that in vegas/mc claren airport u must show luggage claim checks before departing terminal

believe it's policy @ LAX too

great idea imo:thumbsup2

I agree. There is to much trouble with luggage at airports. That's why i ordered myself red Mickey luggage for Christmas.

email notifications are back.

and AI about to start........

see you homies later.

Yippee! Although that probably means I have a ton of emails since I have been on here so long trying to get caught up.

i'm not done posting yet:headache:

You can do it!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

lori - :woohoo: to you! I am SO jealous about the mickey luggage & in red too:cool1: . did u get it from disneyshopping or elsewhere? I was tempted last summer; but afraid it was too small. let me know how u like it.

metro - how nice for you:rolleyes1 jk, we were supposed to be in the high 40's & 50's all week & now we're getting an ice storm & it's going to drop to 14 tomorrow:eek: . My bad dog has run under the deck & won't come out; i'm going to have to crawl under it (as in 2-1/2 feet of space:mad: ). Should leave her outside to become a pupsicle (groan)

I use the email notifications because it automatically takes me to the first post I missed. If I use the CP I have to go back and find the last post I read. Much easier that way.

If you use the CP, you just click on the little arrow next to the thread and it does the same thing! :confused3 I just find the CP so much easier to use, especially when you're following more than one thread. And when I used to do email, I'd read the response in my email, then when I clicked it, I'd think I'd read stuff before, but I wouldn't have read all the posts (only the one in the email) and I'd get confused on what I'd read before or not!

I have ordered up some great weather for the party on Sunday. See below and let me know if you can make it. ;)

sixday_640x480.jpg

Oh Shut Up! Currently wind chill -1 here and dropping rapidly! But it looks like the snow's finally tapering off. Looks like it's heading your way now Mac!

Okay, whoever the big Peeps fans were, I found these costumes just for you! Although the adult one costs $79! I can't imagine who would consider spending that when the costume's not even edible!!

peeps.jpg

And, the illustration to go with my squirrel story above. Here's what the squirrels were thinking afterwards!! :rotfl:

As Johnny Olson and Rod Roddy used to say on TPIR...COME ON DOWN!

I have ordered up some great weather for the party on Sunday. See below and let me know if you can make it. ;)

sixday_640x480.jpg

I'll be there! I wish.

lori - :woohoo: to you! I am SO jealous about the mickey luggage & in red too:cool1: . did u get it from disneyshopping or elsewhere? I was tempted last summer; but afraid it was too small. let me know how u like it.

Yep ordered it from disneyshopping dot com. It was on sale for $59.99 I think and I got to use an additional 10% off coupon I got in an email . I like it. Think I will order another set for dh. I had wanted it forever but never had done it. While we had no power and were stuck at the in-laws mil kept asking what I wanted. I was checking my emails, had one from disney shopping and it hit me to tell her to get it for me. She had me order right then and order a HSM set for Ally. Both are very nice.

If you use the CP, you just click on the little arrow next to the thread and it does the same thing! :confused3 I just find the CP so much easier to use, especially when you're following more than one thread. Okay I will check that out.
