the interview went well. the person doing it was no more than 22. i asked questions she could NOT answer. she wrote them down, so she could ask someone else.:confused3

i forgot to get cadbury eggs. i went straight for a cup of coffee. :rolleyes1

i am not allowed to open the box before wed. i am meeting my niece for lunch, and i hope it is crocs. or food. or food and crocs. cadbury chocolate will do.

Penny - glad to hear the interview went well. :thumbsup2

My Dr. recently retired. I swear, her replacement looks to be about 21. Did she enter med school at 12?
How could you forget the chocolate?!?

tricia - forgot, there were racks of #88 (Dale E.) in the aisle @ walmart today. We were looking @ all the different stuff & a couple came up beside us; reminded me of something I believe u said (although it could've been another nascar peep here)...

she to he: who's #88

he: it's dale

she: dale who

he: you know...dale who now sports #88 because of the *itch

:rotfl:

Actually, it was Lori that called Theresa the b!tch... but I haven't met anyone yet who doesn't think of her that way. :lmao:

Rose - thanks for sharing the photos with us!

The photo of Chrissy and Matthew, they both look like they are enjoying life!

Tell Matthew - awesome car dude! :thumbsup2

Did the job sound like something you want? If so, then I hope you get it.

Food AND Crocs? In the same box? :scared:

Hi Tricia - how was that pound of fudge?

Has Daniel calmed down now that Joshua is home?

How is Joshua handling the bloodwork?

Mac - sounds like you spent most of yesterday in the car. Was today a better day?

I didn't eat any fudge. I mixed some Hershy's Chocolate Syrup into milk and pretended it was fudge.

I don't think I fooled myself.

Daniel is *somewhat* better. I don't want to ship him out of the country anymore. Maybe just a few states away...

Joshua does okay with the bloodwork. The doctor gave me a prescription for Lidicaine (sp?). I smear that at the bend of his arm about an hour before I take him to the office and it numb the area. He complains about the tight rubber band thing on his arm, but that's about it.

Mornin'!
I had to wear a suit today :scared1: so I can be on TV.:happytv:

Fletch - soooooo....how did it go?

Are you a star now?

Am I going to see you on entertainment tonight?

Should I be looking for a big yellow bird? :rotfl2:

Welcome back from the world of storms! Dentist went okay for DS today - they didn't do xrays because our insurance wouldn't pay. Stupid that they'd rather pay for another 10 cavities in July than one xray now to make sure they aren't forming! Anyways, I might have paid for it myself, but told them to call me and they didn't (dropped DS off). By they time I got back they'd gone to lunch and left him on the doorstop! :rotfl: (well, really, there's a small alcove to wait in). He said they said it was okay, but not sure I trust him. Either way no xrays, but I need to call and make an appointment for six months from now because they're probably already all booked!

Weather didn't start getting bad until about 2. Rain to sleet to snow. Now it just says "heavy snow". Did I mention I'm hoping for a sleep in day tomorrow? All evening activities were cancelled today. I got DH at the airport and we've made it home. He and DS12 have choir soon, but that's only about a mile away. Since it's just a few guys and they live close, I think they'll be having it.

Oh, and it was horrible walking this morning. Everything that melted yesterday was sheets of ice this morning. When I checked the current temp before going out, it was 37 so I wasn't expecting ice! :confused3 My friend and I were betting on which of us would end up in the hospital first!

Marcie, I would've been freaked OUT had your possum story happened to me! Yea gads!

Now you need the next story. Same garage, same time day. This garage had rafters in it (not covered like a ceiling) so we'd throw all our old boxes up there, along with things like sleds, hoses, etc. We knew we had squirrels that came in and out of the garage (since the door was open during the day, it was hard to keep them out), but weren't sure why.

Well, as we're cleaning out the junk in the rafters, there's a huge computer box up there. Maybe 3 feet square, from an old computer. DH had saved the box just in case we needed it for something. (Don't think we even still had the computer, but you know how guys are!). Well, he just reached up with a rake handle and knocked the box down out of the rafters, expecting it to float down. Well, it just CRASHES down with a huge thud! DH just has this shocked expression, like maybe there WAS a computer in there that he'd forgot about it.

We open up this huge box and it is filled COMPLETELY with chestnuts! :rotfl2: Guess we found the squirrel stash!

Email notifications went away AGAIN! :headache:

Why do you people use email notifications? I just always log into the User CP. It seems so much easier, especially on a thread like this in which you'd never get all the notifications because people post so frequently! I just have DIS saved as a favorite right to my User CP and I can see what theads have new posts without ever even going into email. Just curious?!

loewsemployee won't be back. when you see that type of posting, it is for a reason. and didn't come back to answer questions she/he started on that thread.

I must have missed this post completely! Was it on this thread? Does anyone have a link? No way I can scroll back through the last zillion pages to try to find it! What was it about?

a box arrived today. i shook it to death and it sounds like a pair of crocs. not that i dont already have 10 pairs, but someone was kind and freakin' remembered me.
i will be nominating them for sainthood.

Apparently the only presents I'm getting tomorrow are the ones I've purchased and wrapped for myself! But DH did say he'd ordered a cake at least! I have as many pairs of crocs, but agree you can always use another pair! Isn't it so snowy by you too? What do you do at this time of year? I can wear them at work, so I just keep a black pair there and change into them while I'm there and stick them back under my desk when I leave. But I couldn't wear them outside without getting them soaked (and more importantly my socks and feet!).

HELP!
What websites do you guys use for finding cheap airfares?

I just use orbitz.com and then go to the websites directly, but think any of these are about the same (kayak, travelocity, expedia). But I do know that some airlines aren't on it. Sometimes you actually get cheaper fares from these sites because they have bought out some seats and the airlines themselves have now moved up to the next tier of pricing. This seems to be especially true as you get closer to your flight date.

Nope, no way close to fudge. But at least you got some calcium~

Daniel is *somewhat* better. I don't want to ship him out of the country anymore. Maybe just a few states away...

I still have those days even thou mine are 17 and 24.

Amanda has had the strangest thing happen to her.
About 3 weeks ago, she got a phone call from State Farm Ins. They wanted to know how she was doing after the accident? Ah - what accident?
Supposedly she was a passenger in a car that was hit by a car that was insured by State Farm.
So OK, we thought well, thats strange, but didn't think to much about it.

Well, yesterday, she gets a call from Geico. They want to know if she has sent her Dr's bill to them yet? Huh? Same thing as State Farm, accept this person at Geico says that the female that was injured(Amanda) was pregnant. Well, thats definately not Amanda.

Very, very strange. They have her name, mailing address and my home phone.

DH says look on the bright side, at least they are trying to send her money, not trying to sue her!

Joshua does okay with the bloodwork. The doctor gave me a prescription for Lidicaine (sp?). I smear that at the bend of his arm about an hour before I take him to the office and it numb the area. He complains about the tight rubber band thing on his arm, but that's about it.

That is good stuff. Amanda had it when she needed surgery to repair her broken arm. They smeared it on her hand before they inserted the IV line.

so marci - you're choc full of nuts? stinks re the xray. We've battled squirrels for last few years...i had one run up my leg whilst the cat chased it thru the living room (so glad I had flannel pj bottoms under my nightgown):rolleyes1

sharon - i think you've come up with the next croc model - chocolate:thumbsup2

tricia - glad to hear about the lidocane; seems like a good idea; poor guy.

my youngest DS had 4 fouls in the BB game, 3 in 4 minutes...the new team enforcer i suppose. Coach was so happy:confused3 as was his older bro...evidently, BB is a contact sport now.

load of stinky gym stuff to wash, grrrr.

sharon - weird, i'd make sure that amanda is the victim of identify fraud (i'm paranoid - 3 times in as many years); i'd pull her credit report

i don't use the cp to find out new posts, it takes so dang long to go that route.

i get all the posts with the email notifications.
i'm lost without it.......

crossing fingers it comes back soon.

wishing you loads of mummy dust penny on that job you interviewed for

yes, weather stinks but so do a lot of other things in life.

hi homies.....

watch AI tonight

I have a squirrel story too.

Ex DH and I were living at his family's seasonal camp for the winter while our house was being built.

We had a chain link kennel for our dog outside and the squirrels would climb all over the chain link just taunting that dog to no end.

But the worse thing was when I was looking for something in the kitchen and opened a drawer that we never used. Out popped a squirrel. I don't know who was more scared, me or the squirrel! He had chewed out a hole in the back of the drawer and had made a nest, complete with dog food. We moved out shortly after. The squirrels won!

Squirrel - 1
Sharon - 0

evidently they can be trained:idea:

Checkin' in.

DM - I know where Deltona is, and have been there! DH brother and SIL live there. When they first went to Florida (about 20+ years ago) they lived in Deland. Since we drove when we did our Univeral trip in 2006, we spent a few days with them in Deltona before heading back.:)

Frustration in our house tonight. The kid and the hubby are at it over homework!!!:headache:  DS does really good for about 2 days and then laziness and sloppiness takes over.

May watch a little AI tonight and hope for some peace.:hippie:

-Jennifer

Evening everyone.

This morning it was beautiful, sunny and 64 degrees. Within 2 hours this afternoon, the temperature dropped 30 degrees:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: We went from sunny and 64 to clouds with rain, lightning and tornado warnings to ice and 30 degrees. Now it is snowing, 15 degrees with 45 mile an hour winds creating wind chills of 5 to 15 degrees below.

Y'all know what they say in Illinois? If you don't like the weather. . .wait 5 minutes!!

Mac and others are getting some of this too.

I'm tired and grumps so weather suits me tonight.:rolleyes1

Hope everyone is warm and safe tonight.

did you hear this story on the news this weekend about the kitten?

two men had identical luggage on the flight.
by accident, one man picked what he thought was his up and took it with him to the hotel.

when he opened it, a kitten jumped out. scared the crap out of that businessman.
the kitten had a collar with id on it.
he called the number and talked to a woman.
it was her kitten.

and the clothes in the suitcase were not his.

the woman had been calling her husband because she couldn't find the kitten after he left for the airport that morning. she had searched all over their place and was frantic over the kittie not being found.

the two men exchanged suitcases and the man with the kitten got her back.

later they found out the kitten had jumped in the suitcase that morning and fell asleep.
the man zipped the bag up and left for the airport not knowing it.

snap, that would startle me too having a little creature jump out of a suitcase.

moral to story:

don't be stupid and take someone else's luggage at the carousel.......
