i went to my foot and ankle doc today. when i got up, i could not safely do the stairs in either direction.
badly sprained the formerly good ankle(opposite foot of the april broken toe) from yesterdays crash and burn in the roadway.
so , guess who got an air cast to use while NOT driving
AND met their insurance deductable for 08 by the middle of January????


yup, that would be me......

Hey guys.

I've been playing on the CB a little today. I took Joshua back to school today and it was hard to walk away, but he did fine. Another seizure free day. I hope they can all be seizure free days.

His doctor's appointment yesterday was good. I have to take him back tomorrow for bloodwork. Still no appointment with a specialist, but they warned me it would take awhile.

I'm on that emotional rollercoaster of trying to let out all the pent up fears and frustrations from the past few days without letting new ones build up.

Sigh.

i mean that..

sounds like the medicine is working. it's already built up to a level of doing it's job since he has been seizure free.
i think that med is also weight related. any changes of weight could increase the amount of dosage.
ask the doc about that when you see him next.

each day you will have less tension and worry while he is at school.
you might want the teacher to send you emails or notes home daily of her observations of joshua.........quietness, daydreaming, normal, outgoing as usual.....

be careful on the CB.
don't get banned by being honest.............
if that would happen, we would need to wire up the tin cans and wire to communicate together...

you poor thing. i remember the toe of last year. you were in a lot of pain then and it lingered on and on. good thing you used the good foot this time. jk

if you use crutches would that help you get better sooner?
what a joy to meet the 08 deductible already........
we hit ours early also
of course with a $5000 deductible per calendar year and meeting it early, it's like getting free medical help......

i'm making plans but you never know if i would have to cancel at the last minute.
i go into the planning every year with that thought and have not had to cancel yet. knock on wood......

do think i have to cancel on seeing my brother in april.
might not be able to swing that for mr mac and me.

tricia - the DISboards are my fav. place to hide from the big, bad world . Sounds like your little man is hanging in there . Know of a few children in my DSs schools that "outgrew" the problem when they hit puberty.

lori - i forgot about your ticket snafu, not sure if i could get my dh to agree either. My guys just sorta show up when i tell them to (although they lobbied hard for DL & DH just beamed when I threw in vegas for a couple days ); does your husband care or help with the planning? I think it's sorta nice to get a free reign

mac - u have a great smile there! It's true, trolls lurk & bait on the CB I'm at the stage where i look @ my trip planning as an exercise for my brain; figuring the doody w/hit the fan & all will be for naught. I've even taken to not packing until the last day call it stroking my rabbits foot

Penny - I'm so sorry to hear about your accident! Didn't realize you'd actually hurt yourself in yesterday's report - thought you were just collapsing from exhaustion from all the shoveling! My brother's in Boston and they got 18 inches of snow and no school or work! Sorry you'll be "gimpy" yet again - seems like you just got over that!

Still no word on Dad. Impression I got last night was along the lines of "we'll try to get him fixed up and make it not happen again", rather than "hopefully he'll make it through the night". But obviously I wasn't there so it's pretty second hand. I'm guessing my mom will call tonight, but think no news is good news. And no, Mac, I wasn't planning on heading out there. I wouldn't be much use! Of course if it becomes more serious, we could end up canceling, but for now we're planning on skiing.

Tricia - glad to hear things are on the upswing. I guess just take each day as it comes now. I thought yesterday's appointment was with the specialist - guess that was just wishful thinking, eh? Good luck and keep us in the loop!

Hi - quick hello from work and update. Talked to mom last night. Apparently Dad was dehydrated enough that he was pretty incoherent by the time she got him to the ER (ie. not making sense!). They were in ER for 9 hours before they managed to get him a room. First concern was heart, but determined it was the kidneys that were affecting the heart. I guess his kidneys are shutting down and that's why they're doing the dialysis this morning.

What they don't know is if he caught some sort of virus (he was sick all weekend) and that caused the kidneys to fail, or if the kidneys failed for some other reason, which lead to the illness (ie they were symptoms, not causes). Don't know if they'll ever know

Mom's in Michigan so was going to go support her buddy Mitt (know someone else's on this thread in their siggie) before heading off to the hospital for the day. I guess no one seems to be saying things like that sound dire, but don't know what the long term effects/consequences of any of this are.

Anyways...congrats Tracie! That's so exciting! Wish we lived near family so we could ever have the chance to share things like that with them! Be sure to take some pics for us while you're over there! How old are the nephews?

Marcie, sorry to hear about your dad. Kidneys shutting down? Well, never a good thing; hope the dialysis helps.

barb - what books did u buy bubba? my youngest eagerly read Kelly Monaghan's latest version of Universal book; told him to use it as 20 book challenge for school...evidently "travel" books don't count. IMO, as long as it meets the length of page requirement ANY book should be considered.

I think he'd be bored reading Kelly's book...unlike myself who is reading it again

rose and i met up for a dis meet from the chicago thread at the blue resturant a year ago this month. i think we also saw each other briefly at red robin for a chicago meet a year ago august.

marcie and i met up at six flags twice. once in the beginning of the season and once at fright fest in october.

spent time with bev at downtown disney and adventurer's club. what a blast!

i wanna meet more of you all.
some day that will happen!
