i have met with jodie, todd, rose, bev and marcie.

todd and i spent the night together at hhn last year.

jodie and i spent the night together also by doing the RIP tour.
also she came for a quick visit to see me in my room at hrh.

(and then mike left her a note cause she stayed longer than 5 minutes but that's another story... )

rose and i met up for a dis meet from the chicago thread at the blue resturant a year ago this month. i think we also saw each other briefly at red robin for a chicago meet a year ago august.

marcie and i met up at six flags twice. once in the beginning of the season and once at fright fest in october.

spent time with bev at downtown disney and adventurer's club. what a blast!

Bubba only let in 2 goals.... we WON 3-2!!!! :woohoo:

Way to go Bubba!!!!

Lori: I teach high school. Can be difficult at times, but it also makes for alot of fun.

Ugh! What an age group to teach.

well, we got at least 12+ inches here. snowblowed twice.
i fell snowblowing. the end of the driveway where the road starts was like glass, it was so icy. of course you cannot see it and I fell. straight down on both kneecaps. and twisted my foot real bad going down. i just want to die right about now. i cannot walk straight, so i wrapped up the foot, and of course now the almost 41 year old knees are bringing back skateboarding injury memories.:scared:
did i tell you i wish we had a ranch so i would not have to do stairs?

and of course, the cat is in his bed next to me grooming. of course. right in front of me. i keep flipping the bed in the opposite direction. i feel bad enough already!!!!!

Ouch Penny! I am so sorry. Hope you feel better soon.

i lost the warm fuzzy feeling for winter when i lost the good body feeling while lying in the road for 10 friggin' minutes today trying to get up. i am not kidding. think the guy next door out there doing his yard would come over..not...I managed to get up moments before the snowplow came along.

Oh my goodness! What a jerk.

Hope you feel better Penny. My mom had the same exact situation happen to her...

except that my dad was sitting in the car with the music and didn't hear my mom calling for help after she fell to the side of the car

And your dad survived! I would have killed my dh. Does she still remind him of it?

Baking for my seniors for tomorrow. We always do a thing on our last home meet for the seniors, so I'm busy with that....

I just noticed that I am 3 away from the big 500!!

Wow, it is already time for the last home meet. What are you going to do when it is over?

Oh, and to add in to the mummy dust request. I got a call from my mom and my dad is in the hospital. He was really sick all weekend and couldn't keep anything down. Apparently they're concerned about his kidneys and admitted him for dialysis? I don't know anything about this (not even what it means!). He is diabetic if that makes a difference. I haven't been able to talk to my mom - only gotten a couple messages from her cell to my answering machine. Waiting for her to call back - I'll let you guys know as soon as I hear anything! Thanks!

Oh my, that is scary. I hope everything is okay. Let us know when you hear more. Your dad is in my thoughts and prayers.

Have fun on your trip.

Penny Sorry to hear that happened to you and hope your ok.
That reminds me of a time I was on crutches slipped and fell in a parking lot and all anyone did was stand there and look at me and I did more damage trying to get up then when I fell

Again, jerks! What is the matter with people?

Oh Lori...sorry to hear it's the 'voice' now :sad2: You just can't catch a break :headache: (hey, you know Elmer? She's in that boat too :rolleyes1 )

Well the voice thing is normal for me. I usually get it this time of year and it sticks around for months cause I don’t take the time to go to the doctor. I did start taking something for it and the voice is much better today. If it is not gone by the end of the week I will be visiting a doctor. I do not have time for this.

Yes, we will be doing soccer on Mondays at 6pm from now till March (with next Monday being the exception at 5:10 :headache: ...and for some reason :confused3 we don't play the last Monday of Jan. or Feb...don't get that?)

Good luck with the season. Who knows why they schedule things the way they do?!?

[qoute]And YOU have a son you can't get rid of either  :confused3 I'm thinking the way to do this is to kick 'em out and move...don't give them your forwarding address.... :rotfl: OR, send them into the service OR far, far away to college :scratchin
[/quote]

Well I did kick him out once and he was gone for a couple of years. He has just moved back in until he gets back on his feet. He can not stay indefinitely, is much to hard to get along with.

Marcie identifys peeps by their av....i ID by color... I think everyone should adopt a color/size/font, etc.....

Hmmm, what color should I be???????

What is wrong with people? Someone goes down or falls or gets hurt, and nobody comes to help?? On the bleachers tonite, one of our boy's little brothers was on the bleachers, and lost his footing and was falling head first between them...luckily I grabbed him (altho, he was a little older, so I think he could have saved himself) and he wasn't hurt.... what has the world come to that we're afraid to lend a hand to a stranger? :confused3 :sad2:

It is a scary world we live in these days. I can’t imagine seeing someone fall and not doing anything to help.

"Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out."

And boy do we repeat......:rotfl:

I thought something inspirational for my 500th. Don't worry, I won't do it again until I hit 1000.

Way to go Katie!!!!!

Way to go KFed
bananarock.gif

how ironic MY 9550th would be for YOUR 500th :teeth:

You do yak a lot! Hey did you see that I have moved up to #4 on the list??

Well mission accomplished for the night.....

Off to bed!

Oh wish me luck tomorrow! I am facing MY old swim coach ;)

Good luck Katie. I hope you blew them out of the water.

Yesterday I drank a bathtub full of water and last night had to wake up every 15 minutes to let it out. I took my daughter to the park and walked around the lake. I thought my shins were going to burst into flames! My wife fed me a salad, a piece of baked catfish the size of maybe 3 sardines and a bowl of cantalope. I got on the scale this morning (Wendy, my scale usually says, "One at a time!") and saw thatI lost 12 pounds! In one day! I haven't even done my morning crossword puzzle! At this rate I should be at my birth weight in less than a month! I better slow down because in 2 weeks I'll be able to walk through a harp.

Woo Hoo!!!!!! I need to take lessons from you.

Good AM to all! Henceforth, to avoid the appearance of talking to myself (what's wrong with that?) I shall herald my posts with dancing nanners; just so i may be identifiable aka easy to skip:teacher:

Like the new nanners!

marci - can't lose the kitty! i follow the word according to the Cheshire Cat

i'm mad, you're mad, we're all mad:banana: (whether we admit to it or not; we all develop distinct personal oddities-it's what makes us special; yet connected to each other)

I resemble that remark! But I don’t have any oddities, or do I?

i am the cheshire cat;) the position of walrus is open though...ku-ku-ka-choo:dance3: :rotfl:

I’ll be the walrus!

Kfed - 500 bigins missed the part-ee:yay: :woohoo: don't share with the students, they'll think you mad :rotfl2: normal peeps don't "get it".

But I thought we were the normal ones?!?

Mornin Homies and Homieettes -

Lots of chitter chatter last night, huh?? Congrats on milestone postings, hugs to our fallen Penny, prayers for Marcie's Dad and our little man Joshua, honey laced tea for our hoarse Lori, high fives for MFletch - 12 pounds??!!?? WOW!!!, a dose of cheshire cat for Janet, big old congrats for Bubba - WTG!!!!, hugs for mac and her overfilled with sons house - they seem like they love their Momma!!!, and continued encouragement vibes for Wendy.

Thanks for the honey laced tea Tracie! I think it did the trick.

I also wanted to let you all know that SIL and BIL had a baby girl this morning   :yay: :dance3: :yay:

She was 7lbs 15oz
20.5 inches
and my nephews are just as happy as a pig in slop - they really wanted a little sister.....they want to name her tinkerbelle :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

I will be taking the boys to Walmart here shortly so they can pick something out for her (and I get to buy baby girl clothes again!!) then after dropping Fbean off at school at 12:15 I will take the boys to meet their little sister :woohoo: :woohoo: MIL is the one who called and she is now even with grandkids 3 boys and 3 girls.....all is right in her universe now. I can only imagine that this little one will all but replace the older 5 grandkids :rolleyes1 Long, long, story......but she's like the seldom seen MomMom to my kids as it is....whatever....its all good today. :goodvibes

Yippee! A new baby girl. I bet those boys are excited. Give Tink a great big snuggle for me.

ahem......

---SOAPBOX TIME---

Godspeed to the authorities in finding that marine accused of killing the female marine and her 8 months along fetus.

What scum. I hope they find him an fry him.

We have gained 23 minutes of daylight.
:worship: :worship: :worship:

66 days until SPRING.....

OKAY,I AM STEPPING DOWN NOW. next!

Aww, isn’t that extra daylight wonderful. Spring can’t get here soon enough.

Morning homies just stopping by to say hi and hope evryone has a great day cause God knows I had a bad night when DS 16 wanted to fight with DS 11 and then he got me and DW into which made for an uncomfortable night of sleep and when I woke this morning she is still mad at me just went back to bed no good morning or hi.:scared:
Sorry you had a bad night with the wife & kids. Hope everything is better now.

rhut roh!!

DDs do it all the time.....except dh and I have learned to not take sides or get involved, just break it up.....little turds aren't going to do that to us anymore  :headache:

Hope your day gets better Lawrence!!

Well fortunately I don’t have to deal with it a whole lot. I have a real problem with a 16 yo boy fighting with a 9 yo girl. They know better when I am around.

morning st lawrence.......
welcome to marriage.

mr mac has spent plenty of nights on the couch so i know where you are coming from.

always remember if you accept the rules from the start, you will have a great marriage.
rule #1
work really does suck
rule #2
your wife is really the boss
rule #3
the sooner you accept the rules, the easier life will be

You are so right! Now if all of the males in the world would just realize this upfront their lives would be so much easier!

I agree...I hope they find that marine also..... selfish pr*ck!!!

Wasn't that the case in the Scott Peterson trial w/ Lacy & her unborn Connor?? He would have be viable, so they charged him with 2 murders? I think someone got charged with 2 murders because the unborn was viable :scratchin

I believe that Timothy McVeigh was charged with the murder of the unborn babies in the Murrah Bombing, at least in one of the trials.

Wait...I thought the rulz were different :confused3
Rule 1: The woman is always right
Rule 2: If you don't agree, see rule 1

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3
(did i get it wrong?)

I think those are right also.

Way to go and good for you :worship: can you feel the sarcasm:rolleyes1 Really, I'm not jealous or anything  what the heck. . . do you have a magic lake with some mermaids who gave you super weight loss potion. . . perhaps you made a deal with the devil. . . . whatever. . . alli needs to call you. . . wait, did you take off your boots, dump your pockets and let the bathwater out?? You better check again after you do your crossword:rotfl2:

Ok, honestly and seriously, good job. . . a little competiton around here . . . .

I want in on his secret too! And you still need the congratulations yourself. You are doing great!

Hi - quick hello from work and update. Talked to mom last night. Apparently Dad was dehydrated enough that he was pretty incoherent by the time she got him to the ER (ie. not making sense!). They were in ER for 9 hours before they managed to get him a room. First concern was heart, but determined it was the kidneys that were affecting the heart. I guess his kidneys are shutting down and that's why they're doing the dialysis this morning.

What they don't know is if he caught some sort of virus (he was sick all weekend) and that caused the kidneys to fail, or if the kidneys failed for some other reason, which lead to the illness (ie they were symptoms, not causes). Don't know if they'll ever know

Mom's in Michigan so was going to go support her buddy Mitt (know someone else's on this thread in their siggie) before heading off to the hospital for the day. I guess no one seems to be saying things like that sound dire, but don't know what the long term effects/consequences of any of this are.

Thanks for the update. So are they not worried about it? I would be worried sick.

Noticed driving home from work yesterday for the first time that I could still see the sun setting over the river. Just the very top of it, but there was some sunlight! We're getting there!

I noticed last week, all of a sudden it seemed like there was an extra 30 minutes of daylight.

Well, that's as far as I can scroll back! Everyone have a great day! Finals here for my guys the next 2 days so they're busy studying. I'll be busy packing for skiing! (Since I always get so much help from everyone else!). Oh well, at least we're not snowboarding this time which reduces my packing and work by about half! Catch you all later!

Good luck to the boys. Have fun packing for yet another trip!

tracie, congrats on being a new auntie.

Hope you all have a wonderful time skiing this weekend....and you know we expect pictures

Ooops! Forgot to mention....glad you're feelin' better Lori! :goodvibes

Thanks!

Got this in an email today. Thought you guys might want to participate.

From a nurse:

I'll never forget the look in my patients eyes when I had to tell them they had to go home with the drains, new exercises and no breast.
I remember begging the Doctors to keep these women in
The hospital longer, only to hear that they would, but their hands were tied by the insurance companies.
S o there I sat with my patients, giving them the instructions they needed to take care of themselves, knowing full well they didn't grasp half of what I was saying, because the glazed, hopeless, frightened look spoke louder than the quiet 'Thank You they muttered.

A mastectomy is when a woman's breast is removed in order to
remove cancerous breast cells/tissue.
If you know anyone who has had a Mastectomy, you may know that there is a lot of discomfort and pain afterwards.
Insurance companies are trying to make mastectomies an
outpatient procedure.
Let's give women the chance to recover properly in the hospital for 2 days after surgery.

It takes 2 seconds to do this and is very important .. Please take the time and do it really quick!
Please send this to everyone in your address book.
If there was ever a time when our voices and choices should be heard, this is one of those times.
If you're receiving this, it's because I think you will take t h e 30 seconds to go to vote on this issue and send it on to others.
You know who will do the same.

There's a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act which will require Insurance Companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital stay for patients undergoing a mastectomy. It's about eliminating the 'drive-through mastectomy' where women are forced to go home just a
few hours after surgery, against the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached.

Lifetime Television has put this bill on their Web page with a petition drive to show your support. Last year over half the House signed on.

PLEASE!! Sign the petition by clicking on the Web site below. You need not give more than your name and zip code number.

http://www.lifetimetv.com/breastcancer/petition/signpetition.php

This takes about 2 seconds. PLEASE PASS THIS ON to your friends and family, and on behalf of all women, THANKS.

When are you heading home this summer? I thought we were going to miss each other.

Didn'tcha get the email I sentcha??
We'll be back at Universal July 9-12...not sure when we're leaving the 12th, but the flight isn't till 8 or 8:30pm :woohoo:

spent day chatting with Dell re my new computer; they tried to say it kept freezing & shutting down because i surf the net too much:mad: after i got done ripping abu a new you-know-what; they wiped it's slate clean...so far so good:thumbsup2 like a virgin, if i could only do the same for myself lol

barb - u are catching up to me in posts, who will hit the big 10 K 1st...i concede; don't have any fight left in me

tracie - congrats on the extended beans! WM has cute baby duds

marcie - :wizard: for ur dad & mum too

lori - i got my dvc planner today, get yours yet? will check out the site, agree 110%

mac - i like the way u lay out the law of the land...'lil mrs is always right, except for when she's wrong; then she's still right;)

st larry - never get involved in a catfight or dogfight; my DSs still try to play the game; worse than girls sometimes

penny - i got to see TO emote, over and over on HLN

barb - what books did u buy bubba? my youngest eagerly read Kelly Monaghan's latest version of Universal book; told him to use it as 20 book challenge for school...evidently "travel" books don't count.:confused3 IMO, as long as it meets the length of page requirement ANY book should be considered.

off to feed troops all i could muster whilst trying to install my internet, tuna sammiches & ho-made chicken soup; #1 already rolled them eyes, middle DS was thrilled (tuna fiend); wonder how the rest will take it. Anyone else just wish that someone would cook a meal once in awhile? It could be peanut butter & jelly; and i'd be happy.:yay:

Hey guys.

I've been playing on the CB a little today. I took Joshua back to school today and it was hard to walk away, but he did fine. Another seizure free day. I hope they can all be seizure free days.

His doctor's appointment yesterday was good. I have to take him back tomorrow for bloodwork. Still no appointment with a specialist, but they warned me it would take awhile.

I'm on that emotional rollercoaster of trying to let out all the pent up fears and frustrations from the past few days without letting new ones build up.

Sigh.

No I did not get that email! When did you send it?

I was thinking earlier today, while going through my vacation plan, that I should move the Uni partof our trip to the beginning instead of the end. You must have been sending me Uni vibes! now I just have to convince dh that it is okay to give them another chance, he's still very angry about the whole ticket situation

As well you should be

:worship: Maybe someday I will get near the 10,000 post mark.

I can't even imagine them doing that outpatient. Another of those "what is this world coming to" moments.

You get him. Hope this fix takes!

I need to take my gateway back to Best Buy again. This will be the third time and I bought their special warranty - they said if it had to be worked on 3 times they automatically replace it with a new computer. Need to back up everything on it and get me a new one. It locks up too, actually was doing that before they fixed the power problem with it, oh and they gave me a new power cord last time and it doesn't stay connected right. Really need to get that done.

lori - i got my dvc planner today, get yours yet? will check out the site, agree 110%

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is the dea? When we bought in we got our planners in September, now it is the middle of January and I still don't have one. Jim Lewis is really making progress, isn't he?:rolleyes1

I say be happy with what you get or fix it yourself. I must say though I do have a lot of help in the cooing department. DH and both of the boys will cook every once in a while.
