Bubba only let in 2 goals.... we WON 3-2!!!! :woohoo:

Jennifer: I would be happy to teach!!!

Lori: I teach high school. Can be difficult at times, but it also makes for alot of fun.

Jodie: I agree. I always ask my students what their parents have told them about sex...and the answer is usually "nothing." I certainly don't like to feel as if I am the only one teaching hem, but I also make it clear how important it is to be aware of these things because many of them will never take another health class.

Mac: I'm here, I'm here!!!!!

To everyone else, have a pleasant evening!

well, we got at least 12+ inches here. snowblowed twice.
i fell snowblowing. the end of the driveway where the road starts was like glass, it was so icy. of course you cannot see it and I fell. straight down on both kneecaps. and twisted my foot real bad going down. i just want to die right about now. i cannot walk straight, so i wrapped up the foot, and of course now the almost 41 year old knees are bringing back skateboarding injury memories.:scared:
did i tell you i wish we had a ranch so i would not have to do stairs?

and of course, the cat is in his bed next to me grooming. of course. right in front of me. i keep flipping the bed in the opposite direction. i feel bad enough already!!!!!

i lost the warm fuzzy feeling for winter when i lost the good body feeling while lying in the road for 10 friggin' minutes today trying to get up. i am not kidding. think the guy next door out there doing his yard would come over..not...I managed to get up moments before the snowplow came along.

can rigor mortis set in while you are alive??????????

I think it has.......:scared:

omg penny, sounds positively dreadful...so sorry you're hurting:sad2: older i get the more i hate to fall; did you check all your parts to make sure they still work? got icy hot?

i can help you out.

i am teaching a class on TPing 101.
i will use your neighbor's house to teach the art.......

janet, when you and i fall, we hurt..........
we are closer to the ground than some of the homies here.

meaning we're about 5'3"

Oh no Penny...that really really sucks.
Thank god you got up before the snowplow went by, he never would have seen you.
What's up with the neighbor? Did he see you?
Are you doing the ice/heat thing? And keeping the foot elevated? I have a pair of crutches if you need them.
Skateboarding?!? :cool2:

Is that the pc way of saying he is licking his butt??:confused3

I'm 5'9", so if I fell it would measure on the Richter Scale! If I fell in snow, it would be considered an avalanche, or if it was raining, there may be a tsunami.

:scared1: Mummy dust in my eye!

Nope, no spooning questions. We actually had a woman come in from the Gay/Bisexual/Lesbian organization locally come in and speak to our students. She did a great presentation and addressed stereotypes.

Hope you feel better Penny. My mom had the same exact situation happen to her...

except that my dad was sitting in the car with the music and didn't hear my mom calling for help after she fell to the side of the car

Baking for my seniors for tomorrow. We always do a thing on our last home meet for the seniors, so I'm busy with that....

I just noticed that I am 3 away from the big 500!!

Just checkin' in with yawl...We finally got our router up and running and I'm on my laptop posting from in my bed.

ain't that the bestest :cloud9:

....within about 3 years, our house value went from like $90k to $135K. Really regretted later that we hadn't looked just slightly higher. Of course with the housing market these days, that's not likely to happen anymore.

Yep...if we'd known then what we know now :rolleyes1

My Mom & Dad bought our house here about 26 years ago....4 level split level home, 3 bed, 2.5 bath, family room, unfinished basement and about an acre. They bought it for $60K-something and were paying 16% interest back then :scared1: They just built a new development in the field on the hill behind her (visible from her house--which they fought for years) ...and those homes are selling $300K & up  Needless to say, Mom's 'older and bigger and better built' house, will make a nice profit when sold :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

this scares me.... i need a life :scared:

i just took a glance at the first forum page.

do you realize that we have 10,777 posts and counting since we began?

and we have 131,857 hits on the thread.

we are not even a year old yet!

i think we set a record.

Yep...it's never been out of the top 3 on the front page :cool1: We r kewl :cool1:

No wonder I can't stay "ketchuped"!

:rotfl2:

i'll put that on our "bucket list".

OH CRAP!! Don't tell me we're old enuf to have "THE" list :sad2: :headache:

Stopping in to say hi! Was here briefly earlier, but got distracted by life! ;)

Um, add me to the list of folks who've never TP'd! Guess I need Remedial TPing 101 as well! But it is definitely common around here and in Michigan, especially around Homecoming time, but possible with any big sports events. I've heard of the forking, but never seen that in person!

Penny and Janet - you guys need to get different avatars. I swear I associate the avatar with the person and since you guys are the same it particularly confuses me when you're both on the same page and I can't figure out why you're talking to yourself! :rotfl:

Penny - hope you are doing better. That's just too much snow! We only got 7 inches during the now-infamous Lambeau blizzard. Surprisingly, only 30percent chance of snow flurries was forecast, so it was a bit of a surprise! A week ago we had two inches of rain (really!) and there was nearly no snow left and it's all back again piled as high as ever!

DS' girlfriend's dad just called and approved the ski trip for this weekend! So she's coming with us OVERNIGHT! Yes we're getting two hotel rooms and I'll stay with her and DH will stay with the 3 boys. We had to basically swear that they'd never be left alone for more than 3 seconds and NEVER in the hotel room. Her dad said that he felt this was something he would have expected her to do at 19, not 15! :confused3 I guess, alone (without parental supervision), yes, I'd feel that way. At 19 I flew out to California (from NY at the time) with DH (then DBF) and spent a week with him, alone, at a motel (and of course Disneyland, etc.!). So maybe I'm "underprotective"? We've brought tons of friends with us skiing, camping, to amusement parks, etc. in the past and some have been girls. Never serious girlfriends before, but I think of it more as a family trip than a "Spring Break party" trip. What do you guys think?

Anyways, we're leaving Friday early morning, will ski Friday, spend the night at the hotel, ski somewhere else Saturday and drive home. Hopefully he won't find time in there (especially since it's supposed to be like 4 degrees) to get her pregnant! :scared1:

Oh, and to add in to the mummy dust request. I got a call from my mom and my dad is in the hospital. He was really sick all weekend and couldn't keep anything down. Apparently they're concerned about his kidneys and admitted him for dialysis? I don't know anything about this (not even what it means!). He is diabetic if that makes a difference. I haven't been able to talk to my mom - only gotten a couple messages from her cell to my answering machine. Waiting for her to call back - I'll let you guys know as soon as I hear anything! Thanks!

I start a diet challenge today. Four guys, $100 each, average weight- morbidly obese, 3 months, highest per centage lost (we're all engineers so a little anal) takes all. Weigh in is at 7:15 this morning.

Good luck and keep us posted!!

Good Morning. Another work week.

Glad you're at least home this week

I heard that spooning can lead to forking?

I know for a fact that it does!

HEY you guys..... That's not knife! :snooty:

OK, and maybe this is just me not being a parent to anything with 2 legs, but since when did it become the school's responsibility to teach students everything they need to know about contraception and diseases, etc?!
I have never been TPing ever. I think deep down, I am a goody-2-shoes!

I am just waiting for the dentist to open. Ugg, hate trying to set up another appt. Have to try to change an appt for Miss Savannah too.

It's the parent's responsibility...not the schools...but too many parents refuse to address the situation. I want my son to know and have his info straight. I have every intention on taking care of it at home before school gets their chance....sorry KFed, but by the time Bubba gets to your class, he'll be a know-it-all & "ace" yer tests ;)

:rotfl:

I forget if you said how the appt. went.... hope you refused to pay! When it comes to appointments for your "kids", you are the parents...a "team"...you deal with it together....and if that messes up his schedule, well, he'll have to pull on his 'big boy metro pants' and deal! :snooty:

....if caught by my dad; wouldn't have been able to sit down for a week.

THAT is WHY you DON'T get caught!

Mac Dw is doing fine and wants to thank you for all the prayers and the others that prayed for her and the swelling is almost gone just one little spot being stuborn but hopefully gone soon.

Glad to hear things are getting better....hopefully back to 'normal' soon.....(whatever 'normal' is for you!) :thumbsup2

Morning everyone. A quick drop in. Joshua's doctor appointment is at 4:15pm. We can all celebrate another seizure free night. :woohoo:

When I called the doctor's office, Marti, who is one of the front office ladies, said, "Well hey there girl! We were going to call you if you didn't call us. How did the weekend go for our little fella?"

I guess you guys aren't the only ones who think of Joshua and Daniel as "ours".

I've been reading up the papers they stuffed into my hands as we were discharged. The wording of their informative articles leaves something to be desired. It's like trying to descipher instructions on how to hook up electronics. I find myself reading an entire paragraph and thinking, "I don't have any clue what that said."

From what I can gather, Joshua had what is now know as Generalized Convulsive Seizures followed by a Postictal Period... which means he jerked around for a few minutes and then was so tired afterwards that he fell asleep.

About 3 out of every 4 patients with seizures, no matter how much testing is done, will never know "why" they have seizures.

When I think of seizures, I automatically think of Epilepsy... but I didn't really know what it was, so I looked it up. Epilepsy is simply the diagnosis of chronic seizures. In other words, if you keep having seizures over a long period of time, you have Epilepsy. Huh. That still doesn't explain why.

Oh, and I have a new diet tip for you guys. Have your child scare the sh*t out of you. Works like magic! I've lost 3 pounds since last Monday.

Glad to hear no recent seizures for "OUR" boy ...VERY good news!! I love to try to decipher all that medical lingo :rotfl2: yeah right.....

Sounds like all the papers they shoved at you were helpful.....NOT!!!! Hopefully you will get a good doctor for him and he will speak 'english' to you :headache:

And... I like the diet tip....'stress' will always do it :thumbsup2 (i just don't think this is a good kind of stress)

Hey there homies!

Happy Monday (ha ha ha)

Hoping everyone is feeling better today and that those with snow are making out ok. We were supposed to get a coating and mostly rain.....we hardly got rain :woohoo: Yay Giants (shh, don't tell the Eagles fans around here - oh wait - that would be me and Barb :rotfl: ) I am happy they beat Dallas! I really wanted the Colts to win, they are the ones that could knock off the Pats, but SD looked really good ..... so who knows :confused3
And of course I wanted the Packers to win (for Marcie) The local sports talk radio here is making fun of the TO crying during the press conference  That yahoo is another rant for another day........as an athlete he is first class #1 but as an individual he is about 4 cards short of a full deck :rolleyes1 :3dglasses

me, daddybean and kbean all have the winter cold - blech

cbean got a furry friend this weekend.....she/he is cute and is making a mess of her/his bedding in the cage - but so so so sweet:lovestruc

Got to get the buddybean ready for skool - be back later!!

Hey...how bout that 'storm' Tracie :lmao: :lmao: They were calling for 2-4" here and we got SOME rain :rotfl: Funny how the weathermen blame it on the 'system' moving rapidly, moving further off the coast, etc.... never their fault...but, in any event, I am glad!! (Ya know the school I graduated from called for a 2 hour delay...LAST NITE!!... what idiots :sad2: :rotfl2: )

I'm tired of the media coverage of boo-hooing TO...give it a rest already :headache: Who really cares??? They must not...they lost.... I am happy the Giants won...ANYONE BUT Dallas :worship:

I hope you and the bean family feel better soon...cuz I'd luv to see pix of the new 'mini-bean' :goodvibes

Penny Sorry to hear that happened to you and hope your ok.
That reminds me of a time I was on crutches slipped and fell in a parking lot and all anyone did was stand there and look at me and I did more damage trying to get up then when I fell
