Carol is better. I told her she has a dog's life now, literally. She sits, she walks, she eats, she uses the bathroom, she sleeps. We're going over there to have lunch with her, so I'll know better after I have another first hand look at her.

Oh, I'm sure she really appreciated being referred to as a dog! I can feel the 'sistery' love all the way up here :rotfl2: How is she doing mentally/emotionally?? I hope this problem with Joshua isn't putting a damper on her recovery

My brother and sil will be doing the in vitro again in a few weeks - hope that one sticks!

Let's hope too :goodvibes

I have a vision of Pheobe on Friends when she was sitting in the exam room talking to the fertilized eggs they were about to implant in her.
Phoebe: "Hello, tiny embryos. Well, I’m Phoebe Buffay, hi! I’m hoping to be your uterus for the next nine months. You should know, that we’re doing this for Frank and Alice, who you know, you’ve been there! Umm, y’know they want you so much, so when you guys get in there, really grab on. Okay, and-and I promise that I’ll keep you safe and warm until you’re ready to have them take you home, so… Oh! And also, umm next time you see me, I’m screaming, don’t worry, that’s what’s supposed to happen."

One of those classic super funny episodes... and it has nothing to do with anything, so I don't know why it flitted into my head.

I hope things go perfect for your brother and sil this time! Fingers and toes crossed over here!

:lmao: I had the SAME thought :lmao: (i love that show)

And, oh, yeah .... that would be the Angry Mike hours ... see, when Mike is on evenings, he gets up, drinks his soda, has 1 cigarette, does his "bathroom thing" (we actually call it "working on a crossword")

First, we call it the "library"
Second, yes, he would kill you if he knew you was posting that about him :scared:

oldest DS had his supervisors job eliminated @ group home (his real job-the one w/insurance:eek: ); got a good serverance pkg and he still has his 2 other jobs & will qualify for unemployment...just hope DIL doesn't "decide" to get preggers now. Head supervisor got the can before Xmas, new owners bringing in their own mgmt - what can u do? least he's getting a good recommendation.

That's a shame...hope it works out for him and he can get a similiar job making the money again

We have some ladies and gents here that are dieting. Barb (who does not need to diet) is not dieting "per se" but she and Jodie (who also does not need to diet) work out pretty regularly,

Tricia WAS working out at home in the mornings...guess that's on hold for a bit.... and, I did the 'change way I eat/life" thing too...started eating less and better...that's it.. I like to refer to it as "portion control" :thumbsup2

I must admit, I am very proud of everyone here trying to lose...a LOT of willpower AND optimism flying around here...

. . . no one else gets to hear my scale say "OUCH. . . get your big, fat a#@ off!"

Wow! IF your scale actually said that, THAT alone would be quite motivating!

I started alli on 1/2 and have lost 11 pounds as of yesterday.

BTW, I'm not dieting anymore. I had to make some very serious life changes because diet's don't work for me. I'm learning how to eat all over again, and managing to make good choices. . . one day at a time. . . . that's how I do it. Just like any other addiction, it's one day at a time.

You are doin' great!! Great way to think!!! Thinking positive, long term 'change' :thumbsup2 Good for you! :cheer2:

I went to the grocery store a few minutes ago.

The store was MOBBED and several shelves were empty. Ummm... WTH? It's Monday afternoon with no holiday on the immediate horizon. What's up?

I grab most of what I need, since they were out of a couple of my usual purchases and I wait in line at the checkout. I NEVER have to wait in line at my grocery store, but all the lines had 3 to 4 people in them. Again, WTH???

I asked the girl at checkout what on earth was going on. She said, "Didn't you hear? We might get some sleet and freezing rain Wednesday night."

Oh, and Barb, you can tell your husband that everyone in our area wanted to make french toast. The missing items from my list? The kind of bread and milk we normally buy. :lmao:

:lmao: see? toldya! ;)

But I'm gonna keep plugging away, little by little!
We will have to all keep each other motivated!

Keep going...nuthin tastes better than skinny

I had a GREAT time snowtubing with the 20 somethings yesterday! :woohoo: But, boy oh boy, am I sore today. :rotfl2:

nah...j/k...glad you had fun!!! :teeth:

I'm really trying not to be so obnoxious about this. . . but someone asked me about it so I had to respond, right?!:confused3 It's hard right now, though, cuz I'm very selfishly focused on beating this addiction. . . sorry :flower3:

You're not being "obnnoxious"...why would you think that? :confused3 We're friends.....we talk.... :confused3

i have met Mike and he doesn't talk much at all..............i even told him i liked his hair style and all he did was look at you then.

That' because he got it cut to wear "metro" and he won't do it...goes back to the 'Guido' look :sad2:

2 of my sons lost their jobs recently.
looks like they are not moving out soon. no money, no apartment.......

i thought sons wanted to move away and be on their own when they grew up.
i must have done something wrong as mine won't leave.

What are you saying?? No heart to kick 'em out??? Buy a smaller house without extra bedroom....they'll go... :rotfl:

Seriously, I know I could never NOT have a place for Bubba....a Mom just can't do it :sad2: Someday raven....someday....

barb is the one that loses weight easily.

remember how she said her wedding dress of some years ago is too big for her now?

well...i wouldn't say it was 'easy'...but, hard enough I'll never get in THAT size again :sad2:

And yes....wedding dress is too big (size 8...but, who's braggin'?)

hell, i buy chocolate when the shelves are low on stock at the store.

please feel free to talk about it any time. it kind of helps to reinforce what you are doing when you talk about it.

now is the time for penny and the soap box thing of the day. penny sometimes pops in and does the soap box thought for the day.
we just love it when she does that.
are you there penny?

Here go Penny:

Hope you feel better Penny. My mom had the same exact situation happen to her...

except that my dad was sitting in the car with the music and didn't hear my mom calling for help after she fell to the side of the car
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
sorry, but your poor mom.
i can imagine a lady lying down in the snow next to a running car.
and the man in the drivers seat wondering where wifey went off to....

hope she wasn't hurt bad

Um, add me to the list of folks who've never TP'd! Guess I need Remedial TPing 101 as well! But it is definitely common around here and in Michigan, especially around Homecoming time, but possible with any big sports events. I've heard of the forking, but never seen that in person!

DS' girlfriend's dad just called and approved the ski trip for this weekend! So she's coming with us OVERNIGHT! Yes we're getting two hotel rooms and I'll stay with her and DH will stay with the 3 boys. We had to basically swear that they'd never be left alone for more than 3 seconds and NEVER in the hotel room. Her dad said that he felt this was something he would have expected her to do at 19, not 15! :confused3 I guess, alone (without parental supervision), yes, I'd feel that way. At 19 I flew out to California (from NY at the time) with DH (then DBF) and spent a week with him, alone, at a motel (and of course Disneyland, etc.!). So maybe I'm "underprotective"? We've brought tons of friends with us skiing, camping, to amusement parks, etc. in the past and some have been girls. Never serious girlfriends before, but I think of it more as a family trip than a "Spring Break party" trip. What do you guys think?

Anyways, we're leaving Friday early morning, will ski Friday, spend the night at the hotel, ski somewhere else Saturday and drive home. Hopefully he won't find time in there (especially since it's supposed to be like 4 degrees) to get her pregnant! :scared1:

Oh, and to add in to the mummy dust request. I got a call from my mom and my dad is in the hospital. He was really sick all weekend and couldn't keep anything down. Apparently they're concerned about his kidneys and admitted him for dialysis? I don't know anything about this (not even what it means!). He is diabetic if that makes a difference. I haven't been able to talk to my mom - only gotten a couple messages from her cell to my answering machine. Waiting for her to call back - I'll let you guys know as soon as I hear anything! Thanks!

Good luck and keep us posted!!

Glad you're at least home this week

lets get back to that story of you staying with bf for a week.
this could be interesting..............popcorn::

have your dad and family in my prayers.
when i don't know something, i google it.
where is our resident nurse at this time?

let us know when you find out more marcie.
hang in there....

i never use the words get pregnant and 15 year olds in the same sentence.

HEY you guys..... That's not knife! :snooty:

THAT is WHY you DON'T get caught!

Exactly.
same for answer to marcie's.......

Glad to hear no recent seizures for "OUR" boy ...VERY good news!!

someone needs to give the update on our boy tonight....

I'm tired of the media coverage of boo-hooing TO...give it a rest already :headache: Who really cares??? They must not...they lost.... I am happy the Giants won...ANYONE BUT Dallas :worship:

tony dated one of my relatives.
i was told he is a womanizer.
i don't like him

Hey everyone. I'm feeling better today. Loosing my voice of and on which I really don't have time to deal with.

Barb - Soccer tonight?

My ds moved out, actually I kicked him out, but now he is back. It has been just a little over a month and it fells like a year already.

Oh Lori...sorry to hear it's the 'voice' now :sad2: You just can't catch a break :headache: (hey, you know Elmer? She's in that boat too :rolleyes1 )

Yes, we will be doing soccer on Mondays at 6pm from now till March (with next Monday being the exception at 5:10 :headache: ...and for some reason :confused3 we don't play the last Monday of Jan. or Feb...don't get that?)

And YOU have a son you can't get rid of either  :confused3 I'm thinking the way to do this is to kick 'em out and move...don't give them your forwarding address.... :rotfl: OR, send them into the service OR far, far away to college :scratchin

mac - i just noticed, u turned blue;) ; i think i'll morph into my fav. color - black:rotfl: is lime green spoken for...?

Marcie identifys peeps by their av....i ID by color... I think everyone should adopt a color/size/font, etc.....

well, we got at least 12+ inches here. snowblowed twice.
i fell snowblowing.
and of course, the cat is in his bed next to me grooming. of course. right in front of me. i keep flipping the bed in the opposite direction. i feel bad enough already!!!!!

Okay, tomorrow cat bed goes into another room...and, that is ONE HECKUVA way to get out of snowblowin' :headache: I'm sorry that happened to you....good reason to move! I honestly don't know how you do it :confused3 Dust for get well wishes :wizard: :goodvibes

i could never kick them out.

I think it's natural for parents of 'girls' to worry MORE about that kind of stuff than parents of 'boys' :confused3 (then again, my son is only almost 9....what do i know? :rotfl: )

You got it :wizard: Sorry to hear that....dialysis is NOT a good thing.... I hope it's not TOO serious....

That reminds me of a time I was on crutches slipped and fell in a parking lot and all anyone did was stand there and look at me and I did more damage trying to get up then when I fell

What is wrong with people? Someone goes down or falls or gets hurt, and nobody comes to help?? On the bleachers tonite, one of our boy's little brothers was on the bleachers, and lost his footing and was falling head first between them...luckily I grabbed him (altho, he was a little older, so I think he could have saved himself) and he wasn't hurt.... what has the world come to that we're afraid to lend a hand to a stranger? :confused3 :sad2:

Hey anyone having trouble getting in the chat rooms?

It shows some weird error message....

1 to go! but what to write.....
