It's Thursday off to do next day of my TR (hint, hint):surfweb:
DM - Special K with Strawberries rock my world!

Sharon/Metro used to buy them by the carton from NC, no tax stamps:rolleyes1

KFed - NOT the health pics:eek: ; do u have the assemblies where they bring in the diseased organs in a jar for show & tell-bleech

what p.o's me about quitting smoking is that even after 8 years or so of quitting, the last time I had a chest Xray pre-surgery; they asked how many packs a day I smoked:sad1: . Smoked for around 10 years; hope those babies regroup soon...maybe penny (our resident health expert, could shed some light on this).

mac - we had the dogs come thru HS back when i was matriculating; in the dark ages. mac's gonna lay a smack down:lmao: ; must miss corporal punishment jk..they should use thumbscrews on the perps imo

barb - scary stuff...i wish our HS would have metal detectors. How old is yer old man, looks to be a youngin to me (or at least young in heart)

jennifer - pick the lock! I'm told the tax forms will be available on Friday:wizard:

lori - if i had a daughter i'd rather she be emulating Milley than Amy Winehouse. Must admit as to musical genres I'd pick the later though. Not sure why people don't get the distinction of audience she's targeted to...see that Zoe was picked for another season...evidently all the hype has caused her ratings to skyrocket.

tracie - u hanging:goodvibes

Good morning all! Got out of the office (I cheated and looked up some help - sorry DM)

Well let's see....I think I have some ketchuping to do, but Tricia - please keep us posted on Carol. I am SO happy the surgery was successful and I am continuing all of my good thoughts and mummy dust for a complete recovery!!

Can I share my some good news? Seems we've had a lot of bad news lately so I wasn't sure if I should post that Mike's promotion finally came through. Yippee. He totally deserves it. Even though the raise is crap, he's a really good fit for the position, and I'm proud of him.

And, we booked a cruise today. Folks turn 60 this summer, and wanted to do a cruise. We're on RCCI's Mariner of the Seas. Someone here has done Royal Caribbean, right? We've cruised, but not on RCCI yet. If anyone has words of advice or tips specific to RCCI, I'd love to hear them. We go August 31. Should be interesting ... Mike thinks we won't see my parents till dinner time. Mom thinks she's ditching dad and hanging out with us all day. Can't see Mom happy drinking beers all day at the pool? :confused3

Congrats to Mike! I know you said the higher ups were dragging their collective feet over the promotion he was promised, so I'm glad it finally came through!

Another cruise? And you're not doing DCL? :rolleyes1

So did you run in to Fluffy?

I *saw* Fluffy, but I didn't have any contact with Fluffy. ;)

Good luck. I cooked a roast all day and am sitting here eating it as I type.

The Beef Wellington turned out pretty good.

Brad said I must have gotten spoiled with all the "fancy" meals at the wedding (HA!), but really I was just trying to do something complicated so my mind would stay busy while I was worrying over Carol.

Oh Tricia that is wonderful. I don't know how you are doing it because I once again had tears streaming down my face. But these were happy tears.

If it's a "good cry" I'm going to try not to feel bad that I made you cry... AGAIN!

Gema (where's Gema?)...

She is back at University. She *promised* to try and check in from her school library computer. :confused3

Yep, kinda a let down huh? They could have added fireworks or something! :upsidedow
Thanks for the help with the blue balls. I sure was stuck!
Lets see if Todd can solve it now! :thumbsup2

It could have at least said, "Congratulations. You are free of your office now." or SOMETHING!

I must be nutsoid. I'm putting myself on a 1200-1500 calorie per day diet for the rest of the month. It's essentially the Special K diet, but I do need to lose 6-8lbs.

I'm going to squash my initial reaction of "bite me" and simply wish you good luck and happy eating. ;)

Madame Fate is the latest game in the Mystery Case Files series from Big Fish Games. I have all four and YES...they are addictive. It's a hidden object game and you have to solve puzzles between "rounds" in order to finish the game. Madame Fate's puzzles are the hardest yet so it's taking me a LONG time to get through them w/o cheating. If you go to www.bigfishgames.com you can download and play for an hour for free. BUT...be warned...you WILL get hooked and have to end up buying the game.

Okay, you guys have to STOP now.

I just skimmed...and I saw people were talking about cigarettes!! :scared1: Whoever you are....QUIT and QUIT NOW!!!!!

Otherwise I'm gonna break out the health pictures!!! :rolleyes1

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Not the health pictures!

Is that anything like the "Blood on the Highway" film they showed us in Drivers Ed?

I'm working on it but it's not going to be easy.

Nothing worthwhile ever is.

So, we've got a lot of people on this thread who are dieting or quitting smoking? Are we going to be the Official Cranky Thread? :confused3

This is the next town/school district over from us.... (appx. 7min. down the road)..... sad........

http://readingeagle.com/article.aspx?id=75504

...a little too close to home for me.... :sad2:

That is terrible Barb! Those hormonal years are terrifying. Kids don't think past the here and now it seems. I hope they can get the boy some help. It sounds like he has some pretty dark thoughts lurking in there that nobody was aware of.

Just want to let everyone know I AM still alive and have read everything ...but, today was DH's birthday, so no time for 'box friends'...kwim? ;)

Anyhow...hello to all..... good SW story to come (got sweetheart of a deal...but not sure if it's better than Janet's?)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY a day late TO BUBBA'S DAD!!!

eat prunes and drink lots of water.
you'll lose weight easily..........

Is that the "poop a lot" diet?

Hey, I haven't mentioned poop in awhile. Didn't want to lose my Poop Lady title. Or did I? :confused3

Just checking in with you all this morning. Still working away from home. Looking forward to getting home tomorrow night to husband and son.:cool1: :cool1:

Have fun! I mean, work hard! I mean, have fun working hard and getting home! Or something like that...

Good morning!
Another beautiful sunny day here. The last 2 days have been in the high 50's, low 60's. Actually broke a record on Tues. Back to the 30's today, but not windy. We must have lost about 2 feet of snow. I can see grass in places! :woohoo: How many more days until spring?

We are in the 50s and under a Tornado Watch. From 4pm on today we will be under a Wind Advisory with gusts up to 45 mph expected. Did one of you guys send the scary weather this way?

It's Thursday off to do next day of my TR (hint, hint):surfweb:

Oh, criminey... I forgot all about your TR. I'm headed over there to read it right after I post this! :upsidedow

Good morning all! Got out of the office (I cheated and looked up some help - sorry DM)

We were trading help here on the thread, so I guess we all cheated. :guilty:

winter is returning to us in the midwest.

i watched the weather channel.

Oh, Mac. Did I mention that SIL and her hubby are moving to Chicago? From Orlando to Chicago with SIL dragging her heels the whole way. She is SO against the move that they are keeping the house in Orlando "just in case" it doesn't work out and they can move back. His company wants him based in Chicago near their headquarters, but he travels 75% of the time so SIL says why does it matter where his home is.

The weather reports should make things VERY interesting. They are supposed to move in a couple of weeks. :rolleyes1

I'll be heading on over to read when I am through here.

DM - Special K with Strawberries rock my world!

I'll have to try that.

I wonder if doing a detox would help at all to get any of that out of your lungs. I know that it helps with other organs like the liver & kidneys. I am going to start a detox process next week. Maybe it will also help me get on the road to some weight loss.

Yeah, me too.

Glad you didn't have to deal with her.

Brad said I must have gotten spoiled with all the "fancy" meals at the wedding (HA!), but really I was just trying to do something complicated so my mind would stay busy while I was worrying over Carol.

Now that looked good!

If it's a "good cry" I'm going to try not to feel bad that I made you cry... AGAIN!

Don't you go feeling bad. I am VERY happy for you & your family. I need a good cry every now and then.

It could have at least said, "Congratulations. You are free of your office now." or SOMETHING!

I had to go to a baseball meeting last night so was not able to finish it. Had the boys take over and they called me when they finished. It told them "Congratulations, you just wasted 20 something minutes". I had swithced it over to English to see if there were any instructions earlier.

Nothing worthwhile ever is.

No, we are going to be the motivational super healthy thread!

Is that the "poop a lot" diet?

Hey, I haven't mentioned poop in awhile. Didn't want to lose my Poop Lady title. Or did I? :confused3

You will always be the poop lady to me.

Have a terrific day everyone!

Jennifer - Have safe travels home.

Tricia - Hope the weather does not get bad on you but you get lots of rain out of it. After several years of drought conditions last year we set new rainfall records, nearly doubled our yearly rainfal total average. Maybe you guys will get out of those drought conditions this year.

I think. :rotfl:

The experts are predicting our drought will last through most of 2008. Scary predictions for the summer months when water usage goes up. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the experts are WRONG.

Okay....not only do we red-headed stepchildren of the DIS take pix of food in the parks and such, but now we're graduating to pix here on the SAN thread :rotfl2:

Looks yummy...makin' me hungry! :guilty:

yep....my thots too ;)

I've talked with Mom a couple of times today and Carol once. She had an okay night. Got sick once, but that isn't unusual for her (or my mom) after anesthesia. She is feeling, in her words, "like she was attacked by a shark", but Mom says she looks much better than she thought she would this morning. She hasn't eaten anything yet, but she has been up twice and used the bathroom (I know TMI, but after surgery the bodily functions are a big deal). They are going to walk her around the floor a few times today. Her doctor said she has to stay for a full 24 hours post surgery for "pain management", but after that they will decide if/when to send her home.

it's called 'spreadin' the love' :teeth:

 don't blame her...the ONLY reason I would move to Chicago area (again) would be cuz mac lives there  Been there, done that, please extend my sympathies to your SIL...btw, is this same SIL who had the 'teenage' birthday cake at your house?

I wonder if doing a detox would help at all to get any of that out of your lungs.

i thought your lungs started to 'regenerate' after you stopped..... :confused3 But, stopping is better...give lungz a chance vs still fillin' 'em with CO2. I made DH quit years ago (before we were married)...he still thanks me to this day!

And bathrooms. Don't forget bathrooms. I have a good toilet shot from our trip to Nashville. Since I don't seem to be getting around to a Trippie with everything else that is going on, here goes.

My ONLY complaint about our hotel room in Nashville (well, Franklin, Nashville 'burbs) is that the door *barely* cleared the toilet. You had to swing open the bathroom door, step in and around the toilet, then swing the bathroom door shut before you could step in front of the toilet. Here's what I mean:

:headache: :headache: uh...yeah...that sux!!!!

Kinda like my complaint about the bathroom at HRH.... door was similar to your pic and you couldn't leave the bathMAT (which is thinner than a towel) on the floor cuz the door didn't clear! :confused3

I would agree.....THAT is a pia!!! :sad2:

(still kinda funnie tho)

That is really good to hear! Good sign! Like I said...hopefully this is the beginning of the end for Carol and she starts feeling MUCH better.... & believe me, post-op, I know how important it is to go potty by yourself! :woohoo:

Nope. That was my oldest sister, Susan. The birthday cake was for her daughter, my niece, Melanie.

SIL is Donna, Brad's sister... the mom of Idiot Nephew (Noah) who just got married a couple of times.
