Well I gave up earlier. I couldn't get on the dis at all today. Thought I would try to hop on to say...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Katie - I hope the codeine finally kicked in. Noticed that you called DF DH in a post!!!!!!

Rose - I will see what I can find too. You may even check on a dvc rental for a Sunday - Thursday. The points per night are so low if you can find someone with a decent price per point you might be able to stay in a pretty nice resort for about $100 per night at Disney. Just a thought.

Marcie - Glad you made it home safe and sound.

Barb - Good luck to Bubba!

Tricia - The boys will be the most adorable part of that wedding. Have I ever told you guys the story about Ally and her sister's wedding? If not I will, very cute!

lori - didn't know you had been to DL before! did u get your planner or dues statement yet, i haven't...guess i find out what they are when i balance my checking account & see the new ACH debit:confused3

Opened mail & found a $300 bill from orthodontist. States they "misjudged" final insurance payment. Think i'm going to contest it, already paid an overage of $200+ & the braces came off early June.:headache: WWYD?

2nd Q - i'm not the scrapbooking sort. Finally got the vacation pics developed & in a large photo/scrap book. There's lots of room to write notations, etc. beside each photo/covering on paper. Is there a certain type of marker/pen I should use (sharpie?). Have a kit i bought a couple years ago, with stampers/stickers, etc...don't see any writing instruments though.

Yeah Janet we have been to DL twice. The first time was in 97 I think. The second time was in 2000. That one was actually Ally's very first trip to a Disney park. One day I will have to scan some pics from that trip.

I did get the dues statement but never did get my new guide book that was supposed to be here in December. Don't rememeber what the dues went up to but there is a thread in the dvc forums with all of them posted.

I absolutely love the Indian Jones ride there. Many people say it is the same as Dinosaur but I just don't agree with that, neither does the rest of my family. There is also a cute ride in Toon Town, Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin. We had lots of laughs on that one too.

I have to say that I would argue that dentist bill myself. We have had many issues with doctor bills that were part of a HMO that we had to really fight.

And I am not a scrap booker myself, I did think that they needed a special pen though to keep from damaging the pic but I may be totally off base.

I'm sure....for both arms and 3 legs :sad2:

Not sure...will ask around at party tonite.... :thumbsup2

It really isn't all that bad considering:

Some deluxe resorts offer child care services on-site for Disney resort guests. In some cases these services are also available to off-site guests. (Call to determine availability.)

A Carol update. Well, she worked on Saturday and she works again on Wednesday. That's the make sure she is on the payroll end of 2007/beginning of 2008 thing for insurance and benefits. Her next round of chemo starts January 7th. Right now she is feeling pretty good. It's been long enough since the last round that she's got some strength back and it's not close enough to the next round that she's worrying about it yet. We had a really good Christmas. She seemed to enjoy herself with everyone. Huge outing for her, she decided to go to the Falcons game yesterday. When she and Mom walked in to sit down, her section (all season ticket holders for years and years) gave her a standing ovation. How cool is that?

That is amazing! I am so happy for her. She deserved it all!

finding friends in a box on this thread:surfweb: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: party: party: party: :rainbow: :rainbow: :rainbow:

AMEN TO THAT!!!!!

this hasn't been my week miss lucky penny.

the dis was not my friend then......
today had to deal with family issues which of course will continue forever.
isn't that how it always goes........

Well here is to a year a much fewer family issues for you to deal with.

It is now officially midnight in Oklahoma and Christopher is officially 23 years old!!!!!!!

Have a wonderful 2008 Homies!!!!!

lori, are you saying you had a new years baby?

well, not today but 23 years ago?

happy birthday to christopher!

Happy New Year!

Good First Morning of 2008!

Looking forward to another lazy day around the house. I tend to work 50+ hours a week, so whenever we get these long holiday weekends, I just crash and enjoy it.

Rose - We stayed at All Star Movies back in '99 and loved it. It was our only Disney onsite experience. We had our own car since DH will not fly and it's only :confused3 16-hour drive. The rooms are small, but consider how much time you will be spending in them. The food court was good enough for us for quick meals and then we added a few nice meals.

Marci - glad to hear you could use your gift card online. I need to use our gift certificates and gift cards this weekend. After this weekend I will be working every Saturday for "tax season".:sad2:

Hubby just headed out to WalMart for "supplies". He says we are to get a big snowstorm starting later today and into Wednesday. I don't watch the weather channel - I just ask him. If it weren't for ESPN and the Weather Channel - he wouldn't watch TV.:rotfl:

Wishing you all a happy, prosperous, healthy 2008!:)

-Jennifer

A quick check in before we settle down to watch the Rose Parade. I absolutely love HGTV's coverage. They show you all the floats (what a concept) and tell you all about the flowers and seeds and spices used to make them. It's about the only time I watch HGTV, but they do an excellent job. I don't really get all the names of the stuff used, but I do get a kick out them talking about how many tons of some kind of bean were used to cover a section or whatever.

Brad and I had 3 glasses of champagne each last night. It was enough to give him a good buzz. I never felt it. :confused3 But I enjoyed Brad and his buzz. ;)

Well, I shouldn't say I never felt the champagne. I woke up about 2am with a terrible pain and heartburn. Oh yeah. With me on that Protonix stuff to repair my stomach lining, champagne may not have been a wise consumption choice for me.

HAPPY 2008 EVERYONE!!!

Thanks for the New Year wishes and Happy New Year to all of you!

The Washington Capitals (hockey) have a minor league team in Maine that we have season tickets to. Went last night and than out to dinner, was home by 10:00. :upsidedow Had to stay up until 2:00 waiting for the youngest to get home. He did pretty good, only 7 minutes late. I was getting ready to call his phone and blast him!

Just got back from Circuit City. Had to return the monitor once again. The first one I didn't like cause it was widescreen. Had this once since Sunday and last night the on/off button fell into the monitor. Ooops, not good. They had one left, but the box was banged up on one corner. eh, I'll give it a try.

Todays the day to take down the tree and pack up all the Christmas stuff. Usually everyone finds somewhere they need to be so they don't have to help me, but we're going to get a big snowstorm today and everyone will be housebound! :lmao: :lmao:

Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable New Years Eve.
Off to put dinner in the crockpot.

i slept in a bit today

8-12 more inches expeced of the white gold late today and into tonight.

we had 7 inches yesterday. turns out december snow broke lots of records in New England.

hockey live outdoors is at 1pm- may drag mysef out to the store, may not.
my last lazy day.
DH will have to rise at 4 or 5 tomorrow to snowblow
or i wont get to work.

New Year's resolution(s):
-eat at Mythos for the first time
-stay at Universal longerrr
-make the journey to Portofino Bay Hotel to finally see what it looks like in person

Thanks for that information Lori! I never had any clue about the sitting for the kids!

Didn't sleep last night at all....I'm trying something different, the codeine was useless! I don't know how I'm gonna teach tomorrow :headache:

That's what lost me....$11/hr....uh...no.... I'm cheap and wouldn't pay it (unless in a pinch)...then again, for all they offer AND being "Disney"....I guess it's not a bad price...... :confused3
