I always wanted to hear that I cooked something "just like mom used to". Seriously. That made my day! :goodvibes

Everyone in my house loves the peanut butter kisses. Hence the less than full platter.

Just a quick flyby to say that I might not make the chat either. We're heading out now to test drive minivans at Honda and Toyota. Don't know how long it will take. I'll stop by when I get back though!

Hey Tricia...no problem. I haven't graduated to the level of baking cookies w/o screwing them up. My mother will tell you that I would fight if anyone tried to steal those cookies from me. ;)

Buy something nice!

should have jumped into the chat....it was nice (for as little as I was there)

good friday early morning hours homies.

just came to say that the tree is up.

i give it 10 hours and the tree will be down due to cats climbing up it.

but then, who cares, i won't be here.

don't know when i will return, it all depends on the situation after surgery.
i am hoping to be home sunday but will wait and see.

i think i would feel strange if i wasn't home at christmas with my family.
even as dysfunctional as they are, i want to be there before santa comes....

i don't have a laptop and the parents don't have a computer anymore.
i won't know what is happening in the real world unless i read about it in the papers.

if i don't see you again within a few days, have a merry christmas and enjoy the holiday with your loved ones.

:) Good Morning All!

Things got hectic at work for me this month. Also, we were having computer problems at home.

Good news is we now have a working desktop and laptop at home, so I should be able to get on the internet. Yeah, I was the nice wife and mother and let my menfolk online instead of me.

Sorry I missed the chat about the gift exchange.

I enjoyed the exchange and hope to participate in our next one.

Thank you KATIE!!

I have most of the presents purchased - but need to get busy on the wrapping. Also, I am trying to put pics together for a digital photo frame for both my mom and DH dad. Today is last day of work until Wednesday.

Oh yeah - and to those (Marci, Barb) who have terrible bosses - my business partner and I gave Monday 12/24 and Monday 12/31 as paid days off to all our employees this year.:cool1: :cool1: (Any chance, you two might want to relocate to almost heaven West Virginia!!)

Any chance I am included in that? I am working both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We used to have a company-wide half day on Christmas Eve where parents would bring in the kids to see Santa, there'd be refreshments, music, etc. Now, if you work anything other than a full day, you must use vacation time (same applies to NYE). No parties. No Santa.

On Christmas, we used to get double pay for the day, and they'd provide us with a small meal as a thanks for working the holiday. Now, no meal. Pack your own lunch. And, no more double pay. We get a "comp day" to be taken within 2 weeks after Christmas. Thanks for working Christmas. Take off January 6 on us!

I'm sure some of you were wondering why I am so Ba Humbug this year. Now you know!

When is mac's dad's heart surgery? Has she left yet? Thoughts and prayers as always, mac. LMK if there is anything I can do at all.

Good morning, everyone!

Good morning, everyone!

I think I'd be 'humbuggin' too if my boss treated me like that......(even tho they DO treat us bad....still not going to let THEM ruin my holiday!).... I thought Daddy Mac's surgery was this morning.... thought she was leavin' wee hours of morning :confused3 I don't know...but, I hope all goes well....

Good Friday morning everyone :cool1: ....let me just say, I don't expect too much chatter here this weekend......why? Cuz it's .....

CRUNCH TIME!!

That's right kids..... only 4 days left to get your rear in gear......

"....and don't screw it up......er, I mean.....good luck!" ;)

helloooo to all, special mummie dust to mac!

stoopid computer story - got stuck on the DISboards most of the day yesterday, even after rebooting - too bad i could post either (my version of hell :lmao: ); wonder what'll be next i hate outsourcing

fyi - we catholics pray with saints, not to them; we like to have a "patron saint" to sorta watch over us. St Lawrence is the one for cooks...evidently his demise had something to do with being grilled; glad i'm not a saint.

tricia - glad you like it, hope it's not too cheesy; always hard to tell online...nascar said it was the "newest"; evidently issued with great frequency. Glad your son is on his way, those fevers are so scary. I'm impressed as to how you managed to bake - nothing on our horizon:sad2: great pics too, pj days are 'da bomb.

tracie - OMG, those are some major #s:eek: ; crappy time of the year to have to start watching the diet. I quit my sim meds over a year ago, haven't been back to PCP since. On my list for the new year.

jodie - bahumbug indeed, stinks. DH "thinks" he'll have 6 days off beginning tomorrow - that has NEVER happed before. Greedy piggies, we always hope for at least 1 Xmas triple time. 1st thing i said was "where are we going";) ; my usual response when more than 3 "off days" crop up...too bad i'm tapped out lol

forgot to mention my big news:rolleyes1 - i'm spending Xmas eve with my "ex" inlaws:scared1: ; oldest DS having their family's tradition get-together (blending in DILs ma & grandparents too); begged me to attend. DH thinks it's the funniest thing EVER. I shall slap a smile on 'me face take the shrimp platter & brownies - plop them down & count the seconds until we can leave.

LOL you keep reminding me cause still haven't finished yet my youngest DS keeps asking what he is getting and saying he wants Halo 3 but for one its too violent and too much $$$ for one game and Oldest DS just wants 2 pairs of jeans :lmao: :rotfl2: he is making it easy on us but yongest wants to make it hard:scared1:
