Morning all!

So sorry I missed the chat last night - was making snickerdoodles. House smells like cinnamon now :thumbsup2 want to thank Rose for my lovely angels :goodvibes I LOVE angels  Will get a picture of it on the tree when and if we can decorate it without Frank taking everything off because he didn't get to help :upsidedow [QUOTE/]
Tracie, I'm so glad you liked your ornament :goodvibes
I had no idea you liked angels, really!

I'll take a pic of mine when I can, maybe tomorrow,as I need to go shopping today, more Christmas shopping.

Ok, gotta go and hope to bbl.

hi tracie, didn't see you up there until i posted

i am going to work on that tree before i leave the house.
was planning on leaving at noon today but only if the tree is up.
if you see me back here today, that means can't go anywhere until my angel is on the top........

thanks for your good wishes for dad.

mac you guys can pick it and been called other names but saint has never been it.:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

(you can call me ray, or you could call me jay-remember that bit?)

brevity over

i was 1st in line for chat last night, got message i had to restart computer, couldn't get back on net

on 1st name basis with Benson, my personal DELL buddy...told him they could take the piece of crap back if it doesn't start working:mad: :headache: . He took command of it in a weird sorta way worked thru it then had me install some spy sweeping program...proclaimed it all better.

it worked for 1 hour, still serious error messages - from what i gather on web a driver/video/audio issue (all WER822b.dir issues today - acompat/iexplore, i could go on)

can't even get a checkpoint to take in order to do a System Restore & start from scratch.

plan on setting aside another few hours tonight to talk to me new bestest buddy to see if he can find a patch.

i hate computers

rant over
------------
gem sorry to hear of your loss.

mac - will be thinking of you & yours!

not sure if we disclosed our ornament last eve - mine was perfection! So well suited it was scary:thumbsup2 . Thanks miss Sharon:) for an elegant, tasteful gift. Will try & post pic, not sure if i can upload or not.

The other ornaments are very well themed!

back later (if i'm lucky & still can get on the net)

i think ky looks, acts and talks like a saint............

St lawrence has been born.......

if you homies have other suggestions, lets throw them in a pool and have penny give us the odds and winning nickname.....

I hope things go well for you today Raven. You will be in my thoughts.

Daniel is MUCH better today. In the way of little ones, he got sick with no warning... just fine one minute, drooping with a fever the next... and now he's improving like someone flipped the "well" switch and everything is okay again. I wish I could do that.

I had a great time at the chat last night. I don't know if I can make it again tonight. I'll have to see how much I can get done today. With Daniel glued to my lap for the last several days, the house is a disaster area. I've done 2 loads of laundry already and I don't think I've even made a dent in the pile.

Anyway, here is the absolutely wonderful ornament that Janet sent me:

Ornabuddy1.jpg

And hanging on my tree:

Ornabuddy2.jpg

It couldn't be more perfect and I love it! Thank you, thank you, thank you Janet!!!

I'm going to take a minute to post some pics while I'm thinking of it.

Christmas decorations. Remember how I have all the breakable stuff up high where little ones can see, but not touch? Here's what I have on the coffee table:

CoffeeTable.jpg

Touch 'em all you want boys!

Polar Express Day at school. Here is Joshua pointing at his shoes. He thought it was funny to be wearing socks and shoes with his pjs.

And with the pillow he took to school.

They told them to bring pillows and blankets and they all snuggled in with hot chocolate and cookies to watch the movie. I wanted to go too! :rolleyes1

I have fallen behind on my baking, but here's what I have so far.

An army of gingerbread men:

Gingerbread.jpg

A less than full platter of peanut butter kisses (they keep disappearing):

PBKisses.jpg

And the closest thing to candy that I make. Peanut clusters:

I know I am a week or two behind in posting them, but I didn't forget!

Wow...you americans love your baking!! I want to do some! Going to get some recipes online tonight and then I'll make them tomorrow or saturday.

Back from the doc

my triglycerides are through the roof at 1226 :scared1: :scared1: they are supposed to be under 150 - so its Tricor for me:headache:

my total cholesterol is only at 219 when it should be at 200 or less

blood pressure is at 122/70 so that is fine

blood sugar is at 110 (pre diabetic because at fasting should be under 100)

thyroid is still outta whack so they upped my synthroid to 75mcg from 50mcg

Got to run for a little bit......get scripts filled and get the presents from gramma's - be back later!!!

Hi all! Had fun last night. I'll try to come by tonight, but may not get to stay as long without annoying the rest of the family. Time to be opening presents (pre-Christmas "mom & dad" ones). Nobody has anything tonight so it's a good time!

Tracie - wow! I'm not sure what tryglicerides are, but it doesn't sound good. What does that have to do with? Glad the other stuff looks better. What does the med do for that/what effects, etc.?

I have to do some minimal baking tonight because kids have parties in classes tomorrow. Why do we even go to school tomorrow? One kid (High school!) has 3 movies in classes and 2 parties. Not sure what classes he's doing something productive in (or if he even is!). Give them another day off and skip the parties - teenagers would far rather be home sleeping in!

Tricia - I loved all the pics. DS's band played a medley of Polar Express songs at their band concert Tuesday night. Unfortunately, I'm not conversant in Polar Express or its songs so it was all foreign to me! And I love your coffee table decorations!

Janet - we missed you last night! Any chance of joining in tonight? Can't say I fully followed your computer story but since you're back here today is that a good sign?

Gemma - stop by our chat and say hi too! Although I realize it's late for you, you tend to stay up late! Or is that only when you're not at home?! And I had the exact same suggestion as Mac - fly down to Florida instead with the cash! (And buy another Spice Girls CD)! I can't ever see spending that much on a concert. Spending that much on a several day trip seems like a lot even! Thought you were a poor struggling college student who couldn't afford internet?! :confused3 ;) Anyways, good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Tracie - I asked about you last night but no one ever answered me. You better be there tonight! No more Snickerdoodles (although we'll forgive you if you bring some for all of us!).

Mac - what time do you head out for tomorrow? Are you leaving tonight or not until morning? Do you guys have ice in your forecast too or is it just rain that far south? Good luck on your driving and your dad's surgery.

Told you guys about my driveway being not too well cleared off. Since it's getting near freezing (UP to, not down to), I spent awhile this morning chipping away at the ice/snow out there. Made some progress, but now I'm tired, sore, and there's still a lot to go. Going to have each DS work out there for about 15 minutes (we only have one shovel sturdy enough to chip away ice) and make DH (who did the bad job plowing in the first place!) finish it up!

LC - I'd rather have a "lock Vick up and throw away the key" t-shirt. Do they make those? Actually on Cafepress you can probably get anything! Maybe I'll check when I'm done here!

Looking forward to seeing you homies tonight!

Okay, I looked. In addition to Free Vick (ha!), I can get:

Spare the pit bull, neuter the Vick!

Even my indifferent cat hates Vick.

Hang Vick.

Jesus hates Vick and so do I.

Guess that will work as a selection! :thumbsup2

I don't know if ya call it fate but as I wrote about the Michael Vick thing earlier ,
I heard an awful sound and heard a lady screaming and it was a neighbors two pit bulls she was walking and they had got loose from her and was taking turns at grabing a little pug dog and throwing it around like a rag doll and by the time I got out she got one off and put it in thier house and the other no matter what you did would not let loose and I just couldn't stand it anymore and I don't like doing these thing but I beat the dog with a broom handel until it let loose and after that it tried to turn on me until she got it to her house.
Now the poor little pug is at the vet being stitched up.
Why do people want dogs that are that mean I will never know and makes me sick.  :scared1:

Tracie - I hope the meds get your numbers back in line. I hate the process of finding out what will work. Give me a pill and leave me alone.

Oh, and I got a very cute Christmas card in the mail from you. Thank you for thinking of me/us! Your photo collage puts my simple family pic to shame. :guilty: I send out boring newsletters with mine too. People must cringe when my cards show up in their box.

Gemma - It's a Christmas thing. It's like a rule here. When the calendar flips over to December, we are all required to bake like we may never eat again. Nobody knows why. It's just a rule, so we all do it. :confused3

Janet - Good luck with your new best friend at Dell. :rolleyes1

Marcie - What are teenaged sons for if not for manual labor? AND, take 2 hours and watch the Polar Express. Try to catch it on ABC Family Channel when they have "The Making Of" thing after it. An all around entertaining movie and really cool to see how they made it.

Lawrence - My mom and my sister have been season ticket holders to the Atlanta Falcons for 20 years. If Vick ever puts on our uniform again, they will forfeit their tickets.

My sister has a Ron Mexico's 7 Deadly Sins t-shirt (with the tagline "ATLs 130 million dollar mistake"). For those of you that don't know, Ron Mexico was the alias Vick used when receiving testing and treatment for STDs... 7 is/was his jersey number... and 130 million was his contract. :sad2:

That is so sad :sad1:

It is one of the reasons we moved from our row home to this single home in 2005. The neighbor we shared the walk with had a Cane Corso. She got very big very fast!! She was nice enough to us......but she bit the mail lady, another neighbor and the final straw for us was when she yanked loose from her lead in the lawn and mauled a little Lhasa Apso in front of my house and kids  :headache: The kids were playing on the front lawn at the time and the dog knocked by them on its way to get this poor little dog. They were screaming and ran into the house, it was a beautiful day so all of the neighbors were out and saw the whole thing.....alot of the male neighbors tried to get her off the little thing including the female owner and nothing.....the male owner finally came out and she stopped instantly:eek: Jim was FURIOUS and he told the owners that the dog was a menace and should be put down as this was the third recorded attack. Know what? Animal Services never did anything because as it turns out the mail lady never told anyone, the neighbor got her medical bills paid as did the owner of the little dog so then never reported the incidents either:sad2: .......so we moved (needed to get into a better school district anyway).

LOL, I am a student who can't afford internet...but when I'm at home I'm such a daddy's girl! I decided against the tickets...still looking for good cheap tickets...hard to find! I wish I could visit florida for only £600!! Would cost far more than that. Been talking to mum and she says the family holiday this year will be New York or Vegas. I don't know if I'm going or not, I may be working all summer. Ohhh...and I GOT A JOB!! lol.

Gemma - It's a Christmas thing. It's like a rule here. When the calendar flips over to December, we are all required to bake like we may never eat again. Nobody knows why. It's just a rule, so we all do it. :confused3

Can you recommend any good recipes or bakery good that I could look up a recipe for? Only, no nuts...kids severly allergic so we can't have any in our house in case he comes over.

What do you like? What we call cookies I think you guys call biscuits. Chocolate chip cookies? Sugar cookies? Oatmeal raisin cookies? Gingersnaps? I have a buttermilk chocolate bread recipe with chocolate honey butter. I forgot about that one. I may have to go back to the grocery store now... :rolleyes1
