BLOODY HELL I GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As some of you know, I spent time at the MK yesterday with some cousins who I hadn't seen in three years. I posted a brief trip report with pix on another thread...since it was Disney I didn't want to post it here. Feel free to check it out if you'd like:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1272827&page=610

The report and pix are on post # 9146.

I'm glad you clarified you're not going anywhere....I too felt cheated on :guilty: Sorry the family was delayed and you 'split up' later on....it may have been crowded...but you were all in shorts....so, no sympathy! Good parade pix too :thumbsup2

Barb love the pics Bubba made out like a little bandit.:lmao:

Thank you...he actually made out like a bandit 'money' wise.... didn't get 'as many' gifts as usual...but, he's happy with what he got.....besides...he's got a birthday in a few weeks :headache:

remember back in the olden days when dallas ruled?

 i do!!!

..... our dog has a love affair with morning breath that we don't understand. She wants to shove her cold wet nose in your mouth first thing in the morning. :crazy2:

We went to the North Georgia Premium Outlets (about 45 mins away) and got Joshua some shoes and a shirt. Thank goodness that nightmare is over with. We got the shoes at the Stride-Rite outlet, but they were Tommy Hilfiger shoes. :confused3 Anyway, $20 for the shoes, but at this point I would have paid whatever they were asking. Got his shirt at the Ralph Lauren outlet... a lovely yellow  ... for $17. Then we headed across the street to Wal-Mart and bought an AudioVox portable DVD with 8" screen for $99. I think we paid over $200 for our old one, which we bought just over 3 years ago for Joshua's first trip to WDW.

So, my checklist is done... for now... until we remember something else. I must go tackle some laundry or we won't have clean clothes to pack. I just checked the forecast for Nashville. On Thursday and Friday the highs are supposed to be in the mid 40s and lows in the upper 30s. Not as bad as it could be... I guess...

I have this nagging fear that Daniel is going to do something, well, Daniel-ish at the wedding. You know, like fight Joshua over the ring pillow while shouting, "NO! DANIEL'S TURN!" at the top of his lungs. Or throwing it, just because. Or any other of a list of possibilities. With a 2 year old, let's face it, he's a loose cannon. I have reserved the right to pull him from the production if necessary. :scared:

Don't know if i could wake up to a cold nose in my face everyday.....guess that's a good reason NOT to have a dog

Sounds like the shopping trip was successful! :cool1: Good job! Put those dark sox IN the shoes right away so ya don't forget 'em....ya don't want them lookin' like my FIL when he dresses up....yep...he wears 'white' sox! :sad2: Hope you all have a safe trip and a fun time! Already lookin' forward to pix.... be better than all my boring ones :rolleyes1
And don't worry about any "Daniel moments".....they wanted him to be in the wedding, and, lets face it, things happen when you invite a 2 yr old to be in your wedding :confused3 If they wanted all 'prim and proper' they shouldn't have asked....besides, how many times do kids do something and it's just too cute :flower3:

bring on the pictures!
have fun traveling and take lots of pics.
i think it would be so cute if daniel would mention it was his turn during the wedding.....

Oh, there will be pictures. Have no fear there. I have a brand new SD card in my camera. :rolleyes1

i remember the days of benadryl and duct tape.....fondly.......:rolleyes1

Sounds like a party! Party at Mac's house!

Okay, I have one pair I can stick in the shoes right now. The others are in the wash because I made the boys wear them today so they could try on shoes.

I *think*... and I could be wrong... but I think that the Idiot Nephew and his bride have a mental image of an "awwww" moment as the boys walk up to hand off the ring pillow... and that's about it. They have NO clue just what all could actually happen. I'm not sweating it too much. They're kids. And, hey, it's probably not going to be his only wedding... oh, wait... they already had one wedding... :rolleyes1

Yea, I'm not planning on having kids come to my wedding...does that make a me a bad person...:rolleyes1

Wow the DIS is SLOW yet again.....very frustrating!!

The tooth is getting worse now :headache: and I still have to wait 2 days before any dentists is available.

Goodnight Homies hope you all have a great day and hope to post tomorrow but don't know cause the boards are running so slow and don't know if its the servers or my internet service plus DW grandmother is very sick and they can only get her to eat and drink a little and her only son my DW uncle says he will come over to check on her if he is not busy:mad: what kinda son are ya that you can't check on your mom to see if she is ok or if she needs to go to the hospital cause she won't let DW or anybody else take her cause it has to be him.

Tried to check in last night but it was S-L-O-W. I thought it was on our end - but from reading your posts - it was not!

I don't have any problem in the early morning hours - I guess I'm the early bird and not the night owl.:)

Today is take the tree down and clean the house day. I love waking up on Jan 1 to a clean house. I am going to work today, so I can relax tomorrow.

Ah yes, I might get out to the mall - DS is bugging me to spend "his" Christmas money. He is not a saver like his dad.

Have a nice day

-Jennifer

Hi guys! Quick check in to say we're back! I skimmed the zillion pages I missed and the theme seems to be that the boards were very slow while I was gone! Either they've fixed it or for some reason it's not affecting me because I'm not noticing any difference other than the time is right (or close) now! I may try to catch up later, but not sure I'll be able to make up so many pages!

I'm off to work bright and early here this morning. Work until noon and who wants to bet that when I get home kids are still in bed?! :rotfl: Then we're going over to my husband's office (which we've never seen in the 18 months we've lived here) for the kids (and me!) to see it and we'll eat lunch in the cafeteria there (woo hoo!). Then haircuts for all 3 sheepdogs...I mean boys! Then to Toys R Us to use our gift card that expires today! Catch you all later!

So far we're off to being slow....a bit better than last night tho! :sad2: Boards were so slow...my screensaver popped up  That is a definate sign to give up!!

Katie....it's New Year's....you're in pain and without DF....I say DRINK, DRINK, DRINK....to numb the pain!!!!! :thumbsup2

Penny.....sounds like you need a lot more on your mp3 player. Was that your Christmas gift to yourself...or from someone else??? DH bought himself a Zune a month ago or so... I got him the FM transmitter to use it in the car...so far, so good ;)

Lawrence....tell Grandmother that if she doesn't allow your wife to take care of her or take her to the hospital (and uncle refuses to come) that you will call 911 and have the ambulance take care.... It'll be a big spectacle and I'm sure she wouldn't want all that fuss

Jennifer....you put us to shame...taking down your tree and cleaning house already :headache: I'm the opposite...must have tree up for New Years...dunno why, always did :confused3

Marcie...sorry to hear you're working today (me & DH took the day off--shoulda been at the 'office' today...but, eh...screw 'em!)... only till noon..day will go quick!! Enjoy the trip to DH's office and shopping at TRU  ....I'm puttering around the house and waiting to get ready to go to friends house tonite.....and then I'm cooking for a crew tomorrow :guilty:

Hope everyone enjoys the last day of the year....what a year it's been!! :faint: ...and what a year to look forward to!!!!

(only a week from today is our soccer playoffs and then Bubba's clinics and second indoor session..... *sigh* ...)

boy, i could have run a marathon and had time left over for the time it has taken me to be able to post this...........

i betcha tricia's boys will be prettier than the bride....

Yeah, love it. Things are SO much better now... NOT!!! Sorry, I'm channeling Wayne's World for some reason.

The server "timed out" on me once already this morning and I haven't gotten an email update of posts on this thread since they did the servicing. :confused3

AND THEY SHUFFLED THE FLIPPIN SMILIES AGAIN :headache:

I'll certainly think my boys are the best looking things at the wedding. Brad will think so too. And, if SIL is not in hearing range, I betcha MIL and FIL will think so too. :rolleyes1

Yea, I'm not planning on having kids come to my wedding...does that make a me a bad person...:rolleyes1

No, not having kids at your wedding doesn't mean you are a bad person. Just make sure that everyone knows that is your plan. Since you are having the wedding at WDW, somebody might *assume* that they can bring the kids along because, hey, as long as they're going to Disney World why not make a family vacation out of it. I don't know how many people you are inviting that have kids, but you might want to get the word to them LONG before you actually send save the date or invitations out. Less likely to get bent out of shape if they know ahead of time. No matter how carefully you word the invitations to not include kids, with a wedding at Disney, somebody's going to try to bring little ones unless you tell them specifically not to.

I'm so sorry about the tooth. That's been bothering you for quite awhile now. I hope the next couple of days fly by for you so you can get something done about it.

An MP3 player, huh? I haven't even looked into those. Or Ipods. Maybe if I was younger or my kids were older. I dunno. I'm fine with my old CDs. What do those things hold, like thousands of songs? Even if you toss in Happy Birthday, I don't think I know that many tunes.

It's not you, it's the boards. I hope you can get the uncle to check in on the grandmother. Some people have a hard time putting their own stuff aside to help others. :sad2:

I have noticed that if I get on really early, it is not slow on the boards, but by 10am or so... yikes! :headache:

We always have to have a clean house by bedtime New Years Eve. It was drilled into our heads as kids. Christmas must be packed away and the house cleaned. My mother used to say, "It's bad luck to carry old business into the new year." :confused3

Well, it's good that you are going to see where DH works. And a meal in the office cafeteria? Bonus!

I didn't know Toys R Us gift cards expired.

AND THEY SHUFFLED THE FLIPPIN SMILIES AGAIN :headache:

Yep.... my last email was notification of Lori's response on THURSDAY :headache:

Yep....smilies are moved again, but I don't think they move them...i think they automatically get shuffled around :headache: :sad2:

I would agree with Tricia.... if it's a Disney wedding (and in the summer like you said), people ARE going to make it a family vacation. They will need a lot of notice that children are not invited to the wedding/reception....sometimes it's hard to 'arrange' childcare for something like that (summer, out of state, etc.....) without enuf notice. Anyone who doesn't respect your wishes, and 'advance notification', shouldn't attend and ruin your day....and that's what you have to remember...it's YOUR day--not theirs. Oddly enuf, I think you'll find out who the 'real' friends/family will be

Let me put it to you this way....DH has a 30mb Zune. He loaded 483 songs and only used 4% of memory   He even loaded some of Bubba's video and an episode of Scrubs I think..... I think he was planning on putting a couple movies on it too....and STILL have plenty of room.....

By the way....you never said how your "Christmas with Carol" went :confused3 Was she happy???

Dentist appointment 6 pm on Thurs....it can't come soon enough!! This is a new guy so I hope he can get to the 'root' of the problem! :rotfl: :headache:

No Barb, the DF WILL be around, for the first time ever! But I think I'm gonna take something a little stronger than the booze....codeine perhaps :thumbsup2

Tricia: Yea, I have young cousins...and I really don't want kids there, however, if they are the only 2, I may make an exception...only time will tell. But doesn't Disney have sitting service??

this thing is slower than a UN resolution meeting

:badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

or the Senate making up their mind on the minimum tax update; no forms on the horizon (except for the state ones that cropped up today:rolleyes: ); usually just waiting for W2s:confused3 at this point. I volunteer & do simple returns (ala my mind); not sure if i'm committing this year...think it may be a zoo.

tricia - what butt head schedules a wedding around the holiday;) ; sounds like you got's it together:thumbsup2 i still will buy black crew athletic socks in a pinch to sub out for the dress ones. If they're looking that close, they're looking too hard.

Kfed - it's your wedding, do it your way! Just understand that some people won't attend without their 'lil darlings for one reason or another. IMO it's a night out:banana: . Funny thing is even though the wedding invites state "adult only" and "Mr. & Mrs XYX" some peeps don't get it nor care. In our extended family, it's customary not to bring the younger kids or the ones who aren't able to conduct themselves as an adult would @ such affairs. When my DHs nephew married; they kept mentioning adult only @ wedding & reception. We weren't offended, never uttered a word of complaint. When the invite came it specified ALL my DSs; including youngest who was 8 or so. I called & asked if it was a mistake and was told absolutely not. Bride-to-be said my youngest had great manners:goodvibes . Only problem was @ the reception, the other side of nephews family was angry their kids under age of 18 didn't get an invitepopcorn:: . My SIL had a soothing response to them when they vocally objected @ reception "...so sad, too bad..." ever the diplomat.

lori - didn't know you had been to DL before! did u get your planner or dues statement yet, i haven't...guess i find out what they are when i balance my checking account & see the new ACH debit:confused3

no loss for me on email notifications here, i'm signed up for several threads & never have gotten notice...rely on my DIS-y senses to tingle.

Opened mail & found a $300 bill from orthodontist. States they "misjudged" final insurance payment. Think i'm going to contest it, already paid an overage of $200+ & the braces came off early June.:headache: WWYD?

2nd Q - i'm not the scrapbooking sort. Finally got the vacation pics developed & in a large photo/scrap book. There's lots of room to write notations, etc. beside each photo/covering on paper. Is there a certain type of marker/pen I should use (sharpie?). Have a kit i bought a couple years ago, with stampers/stickers, etc...don't see any writing instruments though.

if i don't get back on, happy new years eve...have a drink on me:dance3: ...we're stayin in (DH has to work tomorrow @ 7 am), cooking some strip steaks/shrimp & salmon...yum. Even bought a fresh pineapple to broil:yay:
