I work Friday and Saturday (very briefly Saturday cuz I took off to go to Ry's soccer clinic )

Anyhow....Marcie....a snow 'thrower' is a "person".....not a machine (silly).......

And the ONLY way I'm coming north of PA is if it is summertime....no other way! So... counts me out on the winter meet up north

The 20something guy standing in front of me was buying 2 tall cans of Full Throttle, 1 tub of that el cheapo cotton candy (blech), 2 king size packs of Reece's Peanut Butter Cups, and 1 box of Little Debbie's Honey Buns.

I don't think he plans on sleeping this weekend.

I'm sure it'll all melt soon though ! We're leaving tomorrow to go skiing. The forecast for where we'll be on Saturday (Iron River, Michigan) calls for a HIGH of NEGATIVE 3!!! Yeah, this is going to be a blast.

At least you don't have to worry about your son and his girlfriend in -3 temps. Nobody is stupid enough to try and get naked in -3. Well, teenagers are notoriously stupid when it comes to getting naked... and you don't have to get naked to get pregnant...

I have no idea about touring since 9/11. I can't imagine that they would stop it completely. That area relys heavily on tourism dollars. I loved the guy that took us on the elevator down to start our tour. "I am not your DAM tour guide. You will meet your DAM tour guide when we get off the elevator. Don't ask me any DAM questions. I am no a DAM expert." Kept it up the whole way down. They may all do that. It helps to laugh, so you don't get nervous during the looooong decent.

And, no, we haven't seen the Transformers movie. I think it was rated PG-13. There was some movie awhile back that Joshua wanted to see, but I knew it was going to be inappropriate for him, so I told him it was rated PG-13 and he couldn't see it because he wasn't old enough. Now he looks at the rating and doesn't ask to see the PG-13 ones.

Chrissy is doing much better, a litte tired, but better. She really didn't want to go to school today(she did go back to school on Wed). It was crazy getting her ready for school this morning, as she was agitated this morning

There must be something in the air. Joshua was fussing about going to school today. He NEVER fusses about school.

You teach too .... Oh my ..Hubby is a teacher and I am a sub- para . Must be something in the NY water . My DD is in catholic HS but has mid-terms all week . We are all off next monday though . My DD and DS are too young for testing season as I call it .

I don't have any snow at all I just don't get it . How is it LI has snow and we don't .

We are off on Monday for MLK day.

Oh, and we have snow in our forecast again tonight.

Dad got out of the hospital this afternoon and I talked to him at home where he seems much better. Hopefully it'll stay that way! Thanks for all the mummy dust everyone! They only live a couple miles from the hospital where he was - I'm assuming that's where he'd go back to, but I could be wrong.

Mac - what's the difference between a snow blower and thrower? We just have one of those little ones - about 1/3 the size of a lawnmower. That's why it can't get the snow over the banks anymore. DH keeps talking about getting a bigger one and I'm starting to agree!

marcie, a snow blower is a piece of machinery that is gas powered and does the work of moving the snow off an area. it can get the job done that would take 3 people in about 30 minutes or less.

a snow thrower is when you make your three sons go outside and with a shovel in their hands, throw the snow off the designated area. it takes 3 people about 1-2 hours to do the job. this includes the fighting, throwing snow on the cleaned area, and begging to come inside.

That is great to hear about Joshua...must be right dosage, you haven't reported any more seizures.... I'm guessing the dosage changes with age/weight? After 2 weeks, how often is he going to have to have it checked (i can only imagine the thrill of taking a 6 yr old for bloodwork! )

Sorry to hear Carol is having drainage problems Hopefully something minor that they can take care of today and she can go right back home.... I would think even if she were to be there for 4 or 5 hours, they'd be able to see if it were working or not ...like mac said, continued mummydust....
