it has been such a nice evening.
maybe i will just eat cake for dinner.

Sorry to hear that Penny.... get a new and improved shredder  Didja at least get a little cleaning done...or uh-uh? I'm really hoping you didn't eat just cake for dinner :scared:

:surfweb: robitussin has my hair standing up...boing

lost my voice, that's considered a bonus in some parts of the woods

all ya need is fingers here :thumbsup2

You happen to have a pic of that hair? :rolleyes1

Barb - This probably isn't the time to mention that I've never shoveled snow in my life... is it?

- This probably isn't the time to mention that I've never shoveled snow in my life... is it?

i dont know whether to laugh or cry- ........

You wanna hit her first Penny...or shall I?

note to barb - have the kiddo shovel, good strength training for sports (not really sure sounds good though)

anyone have the groundhog laying around?
'ya know, the one that stands around & hops into his burrow?

thought he'd be making the rounds already:wizard: he was very cute

gratutious post padding over & out;) :rotfl:

Regarding Bubba & shoveling....ever hear the phrase about wanting something done right (& in this case 'today') and doing it yourself????...... yep....I can do it in about 10-15 minutes...Bubba...well, he'd STILL be out there :headache:

Also, I will inform 'yawl' that our resident groundhog is tucked away in his hole out back....being smart and staying cozied up :goodvibes Few more weeks... :hyper: ......what's it matter anyhow....he always sees a shadow and predicts longer winters :headache: (with all them camera lights, who wouldn't see their shadow? :confused3 )

I didn't think you posting was "gratutious"....thought you had things to say..... (when i see 1 smiliey per post for awhile, i'll think different  .....OR....maybe we should do that over the weekend JUST to get it done and out of the way  ....you game??? :rolleyes1 )

why do i have a mental block & interchange tricia & tracie's names:headache:

cuz you friendssswith maaaacccc:dance3:....she do-s it all the tiiiiimeeeee

Since you have risen from your sick bed (couch, whatever), Janet, here's my pics of Hoover Dam. They are from our trip in January, 2000.

 breathtaking! They are SO amazing!!!!

Do they know (in the 2nd pic) that the tower is leaning? :confused3

Amazing how big it really is...altho, I'm sure it looks a million times bigger in person.....

OK, here's my bucket list: all travel & history related.

Go on an archeological dig in Egypt.

Vist the Acropolis & Parthenon in Athens.

Tour the Greek Isles, mainly Santorini.

Do a photography safari in Africa.

Only two I could think of for my bucket list were:

Cruise round trip from LA to Hawaii (and visit Hawaii)

Ski Blackcomb Whistler in British Columbia

Chattanooga, Tricia? For real? Can we maybe do Dollywood instead? That's so much more funner. Funnerer. Funnest. Ever.

Mac, I hate American Idol!

Sounds like my DH's company. They have to have an offsite travel trip and were trying to come up with somewhere that would be kind of warm and fun, but not sound "too" good for the subordinates who didn't get to go. They decided on Memphis! :confused3 Seemed kind of weird to me, but that's where he gets to go next month!

And I may not HATE American Idol, but I've never seen it! :rolleyes1

If I remember right, your older son is taking AP classes?
Tell him to study hard before the AP test. It really is worth it to get a good score. They grade on a 1 -5. 5 being the best. Most colleges will accept a 4 or 5, a few will do 3's.

Ah, yeah, I'd hate your middle DS too if I was a kid! :lmao:

Yeah, Matt takes his first AP tests this spring. I don't know how he'll do. I'm hoping they do some serious studying for them in class!

And it's my youngest DS that they hate (especially middle DS who has him in his math class and has all his friends complaining about him!)

this is news for you.

I have never quit a job before. well i did. I quit first week of January. I did the right thing and DH supported me 200 percent. then, less than 48 hours later my nephew passed away. so while having been a wacky two weeks, yes i am looking for a new job and doing well, despite crashing and burning monday with the snowblower.

so, compared with others in this world, i am doing pretty damn well. :thumbsup2

Congrats on having the nerve to do it Penny! I didn't know you hated it that much either. What are you looking for now? Best of luck!

Unknown Precipitation?!? Was it raining cats and dogs or something?! :lmao: :lmao:

Glad to hear your Dad is doing better. Is there a dialysis center near where he lives?

May not have been raining cats and dogs, but it's certainly been snowing them today!

Dad got out of the hospital this afternoon and I talked to him at home where he seems much better. Hopefully it'll stay that way! Thanks for all the mummy dust everyone! They only live a couple miles from the hospital where he was - I'm assuming that's where he'd go back to, but I could be wrong.

I had not just chocolate cake for dinner.

I found at the grocery store the other week.....

only now until May.....
in a yellow box with black trim by Nabisco........

MALLOMARS.....

have any of you seen the thread under theme parks....
first page

"my trip at Disney is not completed until________"

it is cute.

I added to it. :goodvibes

Evening everyone!!!

We are starting to get the fluffy stuff too....but its not sticking :guilty:

Have a little cold so I'm gonna keep my posts short....

Hope your cold is better soon....(better a cold than the teeth pain... ;) )

Your snow stickin' yet Fed??

We're leaving tomorrow to go skiing. The forecast for where we'll be on Saturday (Iron River, Michigan) calls for a HIGH of NEGATIVE 3!!! Yeah, this is going to be a blast.

Now i remember why I DON'T ski

barb - haven't decided if u live in the 'burbs or the boonies;) very rural & peaceful looking - pretty

burbs.....well, burb of the city of Reading (ya don't want to live IN Reading...too many corners with drugs and such :scared: ) .... I am actually between Reading and Pottstown....we like where we live. Bought this place as starter home...turns out, we like living here so much, gonna stay put till Fla. bound :thumbsup2 We live on a very quiet street...some older folks still on the block (original buyers from 30+ yrs ago when development was built) and some younger folks (I think we were the start of that).... Good people live around here...no trouble OR troublemakers ;) (house almost paid off too  )

Hi all-
Barb- enjoyed the Mario banana smilie :rotfl2:
*OOPS. I guess Tracie found the Mario banana, sorry.

Hi/Bye Rose :wave2: (& yes....credit for Mariobanana goes to MommaBean....not me ;) )

my DS has Mon & Tuesday off for MLK; yet has a basketball game on Tuesday afternoon:confused3

how 'bout u mac, does your district work?

Kfed?

Bubba has early dismissal Friday & off Monday.... He has karate Friday nite, 2 soccer clinics Saturday, birthday Sunday, soccer game Monday, ...wow  he's a busy dude this weekend!

I don't have any snow at all I just don't get it :confused3 . How is it LI has snow and we don't .

Good luck with the snow Barb. And good luck with the new neighbors .

I always have my kids shovel but I bribe them with cold hard cash .:)

You can have some of our snow.... sending it your way :goodvibes ........ We're cleaned and shoveled out there...but now the road and tree looks icy... :confused3 Hope it's not too bad tomorrow morning for DH :scared:

DH came home from helping neighbor load up the truck....got a scoop... A couple in their late 40's/early 50's veeerryyyy interested in the house  Better than the young couple that were looking earlier in the week...apparently they have 2 pitbulls and would have to fence in the yard :headache: (1 not so bad...2 = noisy!) I think they are gonna go for the house at the top of the road that got foreclosed on :thumbsup2

Hhhmmmmm.... offering cash might work.... :scratchin ....then again, he'd only last out there for 10 minutes....IF I were lucky! (besides, it's the wet snow....he'd complain he couldn't lift it)

That's good to hear!! :woohoo: Did he get to bring his 'star' home with him?? :rolleyes1

I had not just chocolate cake for dinner.

UH-OH

Um, does it count if the only way the man can read the Epcot map is if he's holding it upsidedown?

Okay, but this is a legitimate one! Am I the only one bothered by the fact that they built it backwards/upside down? If you hold your map correctly, then North is pointing down. Maybe he's just orienting himself so that north is pointing in the right direction! :confused3

What is "unknown precipitation" :confused3 Do they honestly NOT know, or just not sure what's coming?

I think the weather forecasters were just too lazy to get off their behinds and go out into the cold to see if it was actually snow, sleet or freezing rain!

Well for the third time now I have gone through and had everything clicked to respond to and have been interupted. I have to leave and can't respond but wanted to let everyone know I have been on and read.

This is exactly what keeps happening to me for various reasons! Frustrating, isn't it? Especially when you've done all the multi-quoting and then have to click out. That's why I'm trying to do some at once, but I'm not keeping up with the speed of the thread. Everyone STOP TALKING!;)

I disagree. :goodvibes Go with the patented Jodie & Mike cleaning system: give yourself 2 weeks, then host a dinner party. You're forced to do the commando cleaning in preparation for guests. That is the only time we clean. When the house gets out of control, that's what we do: send out invites for a party so we know we'll clean!

Hey, that's OUR technique too! To the point that when I ask the kids to help me clean up, the first question is "Why? Who's coming over?" :rotfl:

and another heart warming story of why marcie so loves her job........

Yeah, almost as much as I love all this SNOW!

Are you kidding? We got up at the crack of dawn to watch ALL the coverage of the Royal Wedding when Diana married Charles. Sigh. I can still see her and all that dress stuffed into the Royal Carriage. That beautiful peach toned dress she wore after. I had roses in that shade of peach for a coursage sometime after that. I was the perfect age to find it all enchanting and romantic.

Wow - I'm about the same age as you and Penny and I don't remember the wedding at all! Not even it happening. I would have said it was when I was too young to remember, but guess I'm wrong!

marcie - have fun:wizard: wear ur underarmour:)

Yeah, we usually keep a polartec blanket in the car for the kids and for emergencies. I took it out to have packing space and was considering if I needed it in case we got stranded or something. Then I determined that I had approximately 5 layers of clothing per person, plus balaclavas (face masks) and mittens for everyone, and a whole bag of hand/foot warmers. So if we get snowed in somewhere, we could probably survive for awhile! :rotfl:

Yea, we are off :woohoo:

And next week is exam week, so all we have to do is proctor so no teaching :woohoo: :woohoo:

We have a very weird district. Our kids get tomorrow off, but not MLK day! :confused3

That's good to hear!! :woohoo: Did he get to bring his 'star' home with him?? :rolleyes1

Didn't think to ask mom about that one! Not sure it would be a good memory!

Woo hoo! I'm caught up! Where'd everyone go?

Went to get my wine and my genius DS12 wanted to help open it. Gave him the corkscrew and figured out he could master it. I leave for a minute and come back and he's managed to get the cork INSIDE the bottle! :rotfl: Luckily I could still pour it and I have a wine stopper that I got for Christmas! I've been opening wine bottles for 20 plus years and never done that! Guess it take skill!

Di & Goofball got married summer '81.... I was ...oh wait...you're not trickin' me into tellin' ya my REAL age

Cheers Marcie.... glad you can still pour your wine!!

I'm hittin' the hay...tired and DH sleeps better when I'm there with him..... :confused3

Nite.... catch ya's manana..... :thumbsup2

Man I must be getting old cause I can remeber seeing that but can't remeber the year:rotfl2:

it has been such a nice evening.

you cleaned today?
i'm impressed.
come do my house next time you are in the mood to clean....

Barb - This probably isn't the time to mention that I've never shoveled snow in my life... is it?

well, i have shoveled enough times for you , me, dick and harry to last a life time

why do i have a mental block & interchange tricia & tracie's names:headache:

dumb dumb dumb dumb.....daaaaaaa:dance3:

i have no idea
must be that dumb blonde beotch that started it.......:rolleyes1

Okay, I know I need to ketchup, but I just have to comment on the snow pics. That's it - when we get back from skiing, I'm taking pics of my driveway! (Right now it's cold, dark, and snowy out!). I couldn't use the snow blower the THIRD time I shoveled today because the banks were just too high. If I blew snow against it, it just all rolled back down! :scared1:

I'm sure it'll all melt soon though ;) ! We're leaving tomorrow to go skiing. The forecast for where we'll be on Saturday (Iron River, Michigan) calls for a HIGH of NEGATIVE 3!!! Yeah, this is going to be a blast.

marcie, they just don't understand what winter is ..........
i think we should have a homie meet in the green bay/ chgo area in the dead of winter next year.

everyone can take turns shoveling your driveway.......

lucky you, you have a snow blower.
i only have snow throwers

Hi all-
Just wanted to "check-in" so Mac doesn't worry about me ;)
:thumbsup2
good girl

Good luck with the snow Barb. And good luck with the new neighbors .

I always have my kids shovel but I bribe them with cold hard cash .:)

i have never tried that before. sounds good.
i always tell mine they can eat food if they shovel......

and the problem with that is................?

that is great news that dad is out of the hospital.
still sending mummy dust that the tests show he's better now.

Woo hoo! I'm caught up! Where'd everyone go?

i'm here. i just finished ketchuping up

i know very few people that can remember things that happened when they were 2 or 3 years old.
that is remarkable you remember your parents telling you about that wedding.

AM I THE ONLY PERSON HERE??????????:scared: :scared:

nope, i am the only one here.
i don't see any green lights on and i didn't see some of the homies checking in tonight.

mother fletcher will be around soon to wake everyone up.

Just checkin' in. Internet was down since Tuesday afternoon, so I have a lot of catching up to do. Probably won't be able to read everything until later tonight. (Thanks chatterboxes!!);)

Wake Up it's TGIF! And some of us get MLK Day off! Woo Hoo!
And some of get to work Friday, Saturday and Monday. Boo Hoo!

And some of us get to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Actually, some of us already worked Friday!

So, to all of you who have off: enjoy it and have a beer or 3 for me!

Bon Voyage, MF!

Quick ketchup before I head out into the cold to ski! It's a balmy ZERO, wind chill -14 right now. Doesn't that sound appealing?

Mac - what's the difference between a snow blower and thrower? We just have one of those little ones - about 1/3 the size of a lawnmower. That's why it can't get the snow over the banks anymore. DH keeps talking about getting a bigger one and I'm starting to agree!

I think a winter Green Bay (or Maine from what I hear from Penny and Sharon!) meet would quickly make all our "Friends in a box" no longer our friends!

Sorry so many of you have to work this weekend! At least I'm off today, but not Monday.

Everyone have a great weekend & I'll check in when I can!
