Marcie - you could do southwest from chicago to Manchester and than Albany to Chicago for the trip home.

I did just check this out after reading your post and it's an interesting idea. Only problem is with the rental car - priced out about $200 more than just renting a car out of Boston, or about $150 more than one out of Alb. Obviously more limited in your options as to companies since many I checked out told me it wasn't possible between those two locations. I will keep an eye on this though when SW releases their new fares. Right now they're comparable in price and I'd rather fly out of Milwaukee and not go to Chicago on this end if I could!

Or, you could fly into Portland and visit me! Forget about the relatives! Boston is less than two hours and Killington about 3 1/2.

Let's just go with this idea instead! Screw the inlaws!

It was on the news tonight about Sharons son's high school.
there are 20 entrances to the school. each had 4-5 feet of snow up to the doors and all the locks were frozen solid. so, no school. the principal is hoping the "rumor" mll will generate the names of the pranksters.

this is way more kewl than any prank i did when in skool...........

Lawrence - I'm so sorry to hear this too. I know it has to be hard on you not only because of the loss, but dealing with the people (wife/kids) dealing with the loss. Jennifer - hope this doesn't offend you but you don't look anything like I was picturing you! I was thinking of someone looking much taller, with long dark hair, and younger (yeah, I know, you have a 12 year old son, but for some reason I pictured you as like 25 or so!). It's funny what an image I have of everyone in the thread, and even when I've met them (like Mac), it still doesn't override my image! So all of you are young and beautiful!

That's about my summary of politics. As far as politics on the thread - I don't have a problem with it but I definitely don't think we should attack one another. "I'm voting for blank because of blank" is fine and may help me think some, but "You're an idiot to vote for blank" isn't. Either way, feel free to post updates on results at least for those of us who aren't news up to date. If I don't read it on the DIS, I don't read it!

southwest only flies out of midway.
midway airport is about 1.5 hours of driving from my house.
that would be a long way for marcie.

i love mitchell field airport much better than o'hare.
it's a tough spot marcie is in to get the cheaper fares.

Should I continue to work for my company, but see about transfering to their other office (it'll be a longer drive) or find a new one after I move? My Requirements for a New Job wouldn't be much.

I'd Require a specific Time Frame off, plus a Raise (Gas coverage) to stay/transfer.

since you are asking, i'm sure we all will give you our thoughts.

save all the money you can before leaving and relocating.

if you could transfer with the same company you would have security and can always seek a different job once you have relocated.

Update on the no school thing. Turns out it was a senior prank. Someone (or ones) plowed snow up to all the doors of the highschool. And what do you think all that snow up against the doors did?

Remember that commercial on tv awhile ago...maybe it was for Orkin?? They showed a 'regular' commercial with bugs crawling on the screen and people thought it was REAL bugs and threw shoes and stuff at their tvs They had to pull the commercial because too many people were breaking their tvs and suing...

i say put in for the job and see what they offer you.
let them know you would need an increase for the extra travel time and costs involved.

when you go looking for your next job in colorado, your last pay salary would be better looking on your resume.

Wow - that's the first time I ever got an error message for having too many smley's and IMG thingies (images) in my thread! I had 32 with only an allowed 25!

You are allowed 25 img's per post....one reason i trip report 1 day at a time and individually reply to most...can get more smilies in there

DM...i agree w/ raven on the job thing....chance to build your resume and most companies would rather keep things "internal" vs hiring from the outside. Money is always negotiable too Stick with 'sure thing' till you can make more money and then job hunt and ask for that salary or more.... Besides, I think you'd retain your bennies and vacation time

Lori - is Madie your granddaughter? Is it pronounced Maddie? Just curious because Stephen's best friend's sister (who is in Eric's grade) also spells it Madie, but pronounces it Maddie and I wrote it that way on everything for a long time. We were at the band concert before Christmas and I saw it as Madie on the program and asked her mom if it was correct. So the tooth pain seems to be gone with my second appt. on Monday! Thank you guys for helping me thru it!!


Sad news today...my cuz's are putting one of their dogs down tomorrow. It is 16/17 years old and they believe is having heart attacks. They want to get him in tomorrow to stop his suffering. And then they will have this dog's companion who is the same age and getting there herself.

Yea, crabs are no fun....my kids are terrified!!! But if they weren't afraid of these things then I wouldn't be doing my job, would I?
