Raven....sorry I missed ya in the chat room....Penny missed me, so I came here to 'ketchup'...how'd I do?

Home Update: The living room is getting put back together. We should be hanging our curtains today. My father-in-law worked very hard on putting up a new banister. The old one was black iron - this one is wood and looks way better. Hubby wants to get a new recliner this weekend as his old one broke and black stuff was coming out on the carpet. No way, he was going to put that on the new carpet.!!!!!
I took the week off from work (Thurs and Fri are holidays) as son is off from school. So - good lazy week for me.
Oh yes - the Christmas Shopping - I don't even start until the calendar rolls to December 1.
-Jennifer-

Jennifer....sounds like a great week for you :thumbsup2 Nice to have a 'living room' again, huh?? Happy 'chair' shopping  I can't wait till Dec.1 ...heck, I shop all year....I see it, and it 'works' for who i'm buying for, I get it. (The trick is to remember WHERE it is!!! I bought DH's birthday card in March---his birthday is January!)

Update on my radio station win

That is great to hear Rose....whatever it is you win, will be awesome!!!! Keep us posted!

Wonder if it's too early to cook the frozen fruit pie:confused: guess i should wait till thursday so it doesn't get soggy? anyone know

Yes...too early...wait or the fruit and crust will 'sog' :guilty: Sounds like you made out rather well regarding the computer purchase..... :thumbsup2 (I am, myself, computer challenged, and everything i know (except for typing) I give credit to DH for teachin me.)

You know, sometimes I just don't get it :confused3 How did my mini-getaway with DH for OUR 10th ANNIVERSARY turn into a 3 day trip to the Great Wolf Lodge with the kids??? Oh well, we are going away somewhere and that is all that matters, I guess.
Barb - hey lady. Is Bubba's schedule for indoor straightened out yet? What are you doing for Turkey Day?

Tracie...you will have a blast at GW! Friends of ours went in the summer and loved it (we are planning on going up with them in Jan. or Feb.) Look at it this way....it'll be about the same temperature! (Still better than bein' home imho) I was gonna cook a turkey breast and have sandwiches for the 3 of us (my Mom is outta the country till early Dec.), but DH's sister was gonna go "out" and he invited them here....so, I'm cookin'....

Oh, and Marice...it's Great Wolf in the Pocono Mtns.

IT IS SNOWING PRETTY GOOD RIGHT NOW HERE IN MAINE

Here's what I woke up to yesterday: :headache:

Whatcha think Todd? Happy to be in Florida now???

still waiting for a comment regarding...hhmmmm.....notice anything????

Yeah, yeah, yeah....I saw it....but purposely didn't comment.....btw...like my ticker? :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

I am back with my little indian. He ate a whopping portion of mac & cheese for his Thanksgiving lunch. He did follow it up with a piece of pumpkin pie, so that sorta counts right?

I know I haven't been around much. Yesterday my mom called me while I was on the road to drop Joshua off at school and said that she really needed to go shopping for the kids' Christmas presents. She didn't want to wait until after Thanksgiving because everything would be gone or "picked over". So, would I mind taking her to Toys R Us? Ummm... you mean now... as in today? Yep. For criminy's sake. Toys R Us is about an hours drive away. That's where I was most of yesterday morning. Got back just in time to pick Joshua up from school and then faced the madness of the grocery store (which I had planned to do yesterday morning, early, before the madness). I got home from that, with 2 VERY cranky children, just in time for Brad to arrive home from work. That put me into "what the heck is for dinner" mode (wound up doing sausage with red beans & rice), cleanup kitchen, baths for the kids, blah, blah, blah.

Oh, and my oldest sister and her family finally confirmed last night that, yes, they are coming. Nothing like waiting until the last minute... :sad2:

Ah...the days of paper hats and feathers  I remember them fondly.... Bubba just had a reading part in a play this year (well, not really a 'play' per se, but each kid in class got to read their character from the story....) And, Tricia, when your boys are older, you can pull that same stuff with them :rotfl: That's what Mom's are for...to drive us crazy!!! And the rest of the family....I would have told her since she was SO last minute, she has to bring something..... Is Carol coming for dinner, or staying home? But, look at all accomplished..... and I agree....there isn't usually anything that much of a bargain to get me up that early!

Have a safe trip Marcie...good luck with the 'drive' :rolleyes1

I just spent a few minutes on the Community Board. Didn't post anything, didn't read any posts, but I did browse the post titles... such as:

The thing that struck me is, this isn't an odd day on the CB. Have you ever just sat an read through the titles on the first page or two?

Just thought I'd share. Why should I be the only one creeped out and amused all at the same time? :scared1:

I try to stay away from CB...either too stressful or dumb....I can't believe what some people actually post about? I think some really need to find a life :sad2:

Hope Jodie is a bit better today...going to take a long time to grieve.... My cat didn't do anything dumb or weird except when she was a kitten. She would sit up on her hind legs for a treat...she almost looked like a groundhog. She loved to sit and watch the birds...would 'talk' to them...... she was afraid of everyone and everything....even if DH coughed too loud. If the doorbell rang or we had company (except my Mom or our dear friends Scott & MaryAnne) she'd be in hiding until bedtime. She was a great cat and we all love her so much and miss her everyday.

Here's a funny story: When I was little, I lived in Philadelphia in a rowhome. (Which, if you aren't sure, has like 30+ steps from the main level to the bedroom level upstairs). We had a little dog that, when the doorbell rang, he'd run UP to the top of the stairs and then bark! :rotfl2: Dumb dog! He was great tho.....

Oh, and yes Tracie, our soccer schedule is straightened out. Only 2 games at 5:10 and a couple on Thursdays.... Not sure how Coach is gonna make the 5:10 games, as he works till 5 himself! No soccer this week due to holiday, back to it next week! And, DH is just about finished with the "hilite music video" of the boys season this fall...will post link when he's satisfied and finished it.

Katie, did I mention beautiful job on the castle cake topper? If I didn't, you did awesome! It's gorgeous!

Hope everyone has a great last day before the big T-Day! Time is tickin' by fast....better check that list again..... :rolleyes1

Hi all! Bye all! Trying to get to bed before it's too late so we can get out of here early tomorrow to hopefully miss the snow/slush/mess in Chicago. Yeah, I know that's impossible but maybe it'll only be kinda-bad at 11am instead of God-awful-horrible by later in the day? Or is that just wishful thinking?

Anyways, all of you have a great Thanksgiving and I'll catch you afterwards. Grandma only has very slow AOL dialup at her house so I doubt we'll be online there! If we get a good wifi connection, I'll drop in and say hi; otherwise, we'll see you Sunday (or whenever I get a chance afterwards!).

Hey everyone!

Well leaving tomorrow right after school to head to the DF's house in NJ for Thanksgiving lunch and then be back on Thanksgiving, for dinner with my family.

Gotta be up at 5 tomorrow so just want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Geez - its 2am here and I can't sleep. I am blaming it on the Pepsi I had about 4pm. I tried to cut out the caffeine about 2 years ago - now if I drink cola after 3pm, I sleep about 2-3 hours and will be up for about 2 hours.

Oh well, at least I don't have to work.

Penny - You should get National Treasure - it is a great movie - I am waiting for Part 2 to come out. I did see Windtalkers and it is pretty good also - just not a comedy/adventure - more of a drama - makes you think.

Barb - you woke up to lite snow - we had 60 degrees yesterday. :cool1:

I love the Community Board - I don't usually post, but it is a hoot to read. Always gives me a good laugh or 2.:lmao:

Mornin'!

No school this morning, so we let the kids sleep in. They got up all of 15 minutes later than normal. :confused3

Fletch - You have a shower outside?

Marcie - Have a good trip!

Katie - We used to do that. Go to his parents for lunch, then my parents for dinner. I actually prefer it now that everyone comes here, but those years were fun too.

Jennifer - I hate it when I can't sleep. I hope you'll get a chance to make up for what you lost somehow.

Barb & Penny - You've got SNOW??!!?? Our high yesterday was 72. We were raking leaves in t-shirts yesterday afternoon.

Mac - You might want to see what I've got in store before you offer to trade lives...

On the schedule for today:

Make apple pie (if the boys haven't eaten all the apples I bought)
Make dressing
Make dressing (I'm doing both the kind I like and the kind everyone else eats)
Make pumpkin pie(s)
Wash my grandmother's china that only gets used a few times a year
Clean house
Clean house
Clean house (with both boys home, it'll be a contest to see if I can get ahead of them in the cleaning)

On the schedule for tomorrow:

Bake turkey
Make macaroni & cheese (Joshua's request... and I tried to cheat and bought a box of Kraft... but he spotted it and gave me "the frown" and told me he didn't want the box kind, he wants the Mommy kind...)
Steam broccoli (gotta throw something green in there with all those starch dishes)
Make mashed potatoes
Make gravy (two kinds... turkey and brown...)
Make cheese sauce (for broccoli... can't have it *too* healthy)
Make squash casserole
Bake pecan pie (Edwards frozen... I refuse to make my own when theirs tastes as good if not better...)
Prepare for the invasion

Carol does plan to be here. In fact, we plan to celebrate her birthday tomorrow. Her real birthday is next week, but since she'll be on chemo again that just doesn't say "party" to me. I hope it all works out!

I've got a big bottle of wine chilling in the fridge. I may have to crack that sucker open to get through the next 24 hours. :rolleyes1

For you Black Friday shoppers...

UPS just delivered my first Santa box. :cool1:

I got the toys on sale.
I got free shipping.
I didn't have to pay sales tax.
They were delivered to me by a very handsome young man.
I didn't have to get up at the butt crack of pre-dawn.
The big box hides the contents as no shopping bag does.
I didn't have to fight anyone for anything or worry that it would be gone before I got there.

I'm not calling you people that do the Black Friday thing crazy. Really. If you want that *ahem* experience, and apparently millions do, then have at it.

For me, I'll just sit here on my oversized rump and shop on the internet. If I want to experience frenzied crowds of people begging to throw money at retailers, I'll go to Disney World. :rolleyes1

So, I'm gone for a few days and everybody wonders where I am. Now, I'm here and you all are gone. Fine. Be that way.

I know. I'm avoiding all the things that I should be doing. I'm good at that.

Here's a good way to kill two minutes. Have a laugh at this. One of my friends just emailed it to me.

Best first dance as husband and wife I've ever seen. I'm sure everyone will remember it!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

that was great:lmao: !!!!

Good "I have the day off w/ Bubba" Morning to all......

Hope our travelers have safe trips!

As for the weather....well, that was supposed to be a "clipper" system...but, it "tripped and fell" and took it's sweet ole time gettin' outta here....hence, the snowy build-up.....today and tomorrow are supposed to be in the mid 60"s tho :thumbsup2 (hopefully the leaves are a bit drier and i can rake some of them today.....)

Fletch....I DARE ya to come HERE an take a shower outside :cool2: But, someday.....someday I will live in the south.....(I'm thinking only 10 years to go :guilty: )

Jennifer....I do the SAME thing with caffeine. I don't drink any, but when I do, I go "a mile a minute"...actually, I've been told I'm quite funny! Apparently I can't sit still and I talk a mile a minute!! :lmao: So, yes, your insomnia is due to the caffeine!

And, the ABSOLUTE ONE thing I order online for Bubba....well, they sent the wrong thing!!  So, had to print a receipt and take it back to Target, but they were really good about it and I didn't have any problems. I will only order online IF I get free shipping OR I'm desperate and can't find what I'm looking for in the store....and I really, really, really want it!

Tricia...I was a little concerned about you breaking open that wine this MORNING.... , but after re-reading your list to do today... eh, go ahead....you might need it! :rolleyes1 My agenda is pretty much the same.... As soon as I can pry Bubba off his computer, we are running to buy Dad a few Xmas gifts and then I haveta clean, clean, clean :headache: (which, I don't normally do cuz I'm allergic to dust and sneeze like crazy when I clean...so, I just avoid doing it all together! :lmao: )

If you want to see the soccer season (in music video form), turn on your speakers and click ----> http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=22465297

Note: We are Exeter...usually in bright blue jerseys....occassionally in white..... DH did a great job...and IF you know the song, some of the words 'sync' up to the actions :rolleyes1 (And if you watch all the way to the end [in the silence], DH put a little "something special" about Bubba in there...referring to him 'jumping around' all the time.)

Off to get something accomplished...enjoy the Turkey Day preps all....

Oh you ..... hush it!! We are here.... I was posting......

I'll have to watch that video later, as I don't want to try on DH's desktop. He is recording and I don't know if the sound will over-ride what he is recording to his harddrive....so, will check it out on my laptop later....

Tell Bubba's Dad I said he made a GREAT video!

I love the clip of the ref beaning himself in the head with the coin toss. :lmao:

Looks like Bubba knows what he's doing out there. I saw some steals, some scores and some saves. Nice moves Bean!

I love Van Halen, even when they were Van Hagar... :rolleyes1

Dear SAN Thread,

Please excuse Tricia for her absenses over the past few days. It was all my fault.

Signed,
Tricia's Mother

Okay then.....no problem...as long as the 'head master' accepts it :rolleyes1

(Being her assistant and all, I can't see why not?)
