I hope that you get the chance to read this....I am SO very sorry about Vanessa. So unexpected and so very terrible for you and Mike. I hope that you know that one day you will see her again, they are waiting for us when we all get "there" and she is resting in peace now. If you need to vent/talk/whatever, give me a pm....I have been there and know how it feels to lose a member of the family.

Good Morning All!

Home Update: The living room is getting put back together. We should be hanging our curtains today. My father-in-law worked very hard on putting up a new banister. The old one was black iron - this one is wood and looks way better. Hubby wants to get a new recliner this weekend as his old one broke and black stuff was coming out on the carpet. No way, he was going to put that on the new carpet.!!!!!

Christmas Movie Update: I LOVE all the Christmas movies and shows. I enjoy Ralphie and his BB gun, just not all day! I really like the Grinch and Its a Wonderful Life, but they only show them once, so if you miss them, you're out of luck. Like MAC - I also got the IAWL on tape/dvd.

Thanksgiving Update: We are fortunate that both families live within 25 minutes of each other. We will be visiting both on Thursday. I may try and make some desserts. Father-in-law has ordered a turkey from local grocery store. They will cook and carve and you pick up on Thursday before 3pm. (Dear MIL passed in July so this seemed like a good way to get the turkey done.)

I took the week off from work (Thurs and Fri are holidays) as son is off from school. So - good lazy week for me.

Oh yes - the Christmas Shopping - I don't even start until the calendar rolls to December 1.

Good Morning-

I meant to post last night, but got way too tired to post.
Drove Matthew to his Den meeting last night. After doing that, picked up my van at the mechanics. Spent another $400 to fix the water pump in our old van, so I can have heat in the van, as the heat wasn't working.

Got errands to run today. Take Matthew to after school band practice today. Come home and make dinner fast. Matthew has another scout meeting tonight, to move up to Boy Scouts in a few months.
Need to take Chrissy out of school tomorrow for a couple of hours, for a speech therapy evaluation, for disability determination.

Update on my radio station win(I don't think anyone asked, except maybe Barb?). Anywho, I never received a call or email yest, so I called the radio station late yest afternoon. Finally got a hold of an assistant of some sort.
He said they were way behind emailing or calling the online winners(the winners are daily winners online). He said the power went out in their building earlier in the day and had to evacuate for a time yest. He said that put them more behind. He asked what Wish request I put down, to enter hte contest. I said it was either to win a Wii (I think I put that in DH's entry) or I had put down 4 round-trip airfare tickets to Orlando(I think my entry). He said when they have a chance, they will look up what I typed in and they usually fill that request. He said it's real easy to fill the plane ticket requests b/c they give out ticket vouchers for that. So whatever I win will be fine with me. He said the main promotions manager will get a hold of me in a few days to eventually send my win. He said I need to give them a few days b/c the corporate office is closed Wed afternoon and on this week, for the holiday. I asked for the promotions manager's name, in case I need to call them back next week, if I don't hear from them.
So I'm guessing I will either win a Wii, airfare vouchers, or a gift card, if they can't find what I wrote in. So I guess I have to wait awhile and see what happens.... The main office of this radio station is in downtown Chicago, on Michigan Ave. That's where the Light Festival started on Sat night. They just turned on all the holiday lights in downtown Chi-town this past Sat. So probably what caused their power outage yest, I would think
Anyways, I was glad to give you guys some good news from me at least.

4 pumpkin pies in the oven, 2 more when they come out...they smell sweet . Wonder if it's too early to cook the frozen fruit pie guess i should wait till thursday so it doesn't get soggy? anyone know

went from not knowing if anyone would come to dinner to 20+ , now a buffet-as in plop down on the couch & use the coffee table to rest your drink...i told dh we should've bought that DR table before thanksgiving; but noooooo.

no luck on finding an XP computer other than Dell & they're putting a $ surcharge on them & not pairing with AMD processor; only the Intels (of which i'm not fond)...anyone know where i might dig one up?

tracie -so you're one of those Epcot stroller DUIs . We're lightweights and can't drink while out in the hot sun or we get sick (and want to go to sleep - ha) or we'd be right in the mix. Think it's one of the reasons i'm not too fond of F&W (even though we'll be in the thick of it next year). Just don't get the appeal of waiting in a long, snaking line to snag a small glass of vino
