holy crap! I am fourth on the list:scared:

yikes:hourglass :surfweb:

cannot say i never have anything to say :rotfl2:

speaking of crap...
was in the frozen dinner food section at the grocery store this am. saw SOS....Stouffers sells it. I am NOT kidding.
nearly puked at the box photo. :scared1:

I am back with my little indian. He ate a whopping portion of mac & cheese for his Thanksgiving lunch. He did follow it up with a piece of pumpkin pie, so that sorta counts right?

I took some pictures. The other parents were too, so I wasn't being the embarrassing mom. We all were. There is safety in numbers.

I know I haven't been around much. Yesterday my mom called me while I was on the road to drop Joshua off at school and said that she really needed to go shopping for the kids' Christmas presents. She didn't want to wait until after Thanksgiving because everything would be gone or "picked over". So, would I mind taking her to Toys R Us? Ummm... you mean now... as in today? Yep. For criminy's sake. Toys R Us is about an hours drive away. That's where I was most of yesterday morning. Got back just in time to pick Joshua up from school and then faced the madness of the grocery store (which I had planned to do yesterday morning, early, before the madness). I got home from that, with 2 VERY cranky children, just in time for Brad to arrive home from work. That put me into "what the heck is for dinner" mode (wound up doing sausage with red beans & rice), cleanup kitchen, baths for the kids, blah, blah, blah.

Oh, and my oldest sister and her family finally confirmed last night that, yes, they are coming. Nothing like waiting until the last minute... :sad2:

Okay, enough b*tching. I'll take a deep breath and get over it. SIGH.

Happy Birthday (yesterday) DM!!!
:cake: :bday: party:

penny - hey, i like stouffers SOS, spinach souffle (drool) and the mac & chees ain't 1/2 bad:thumbsup2

yes, the scrooges are quite a dynamic duo...for more fun in a box go to scroogeyourself dot com.

way more fun to elf yourself @ elfyourself.com:goodvibes of course, i'm easily amused.

Elmer - don't forget them pics, sounds like fun...including the last min. shopping run. What's your final count for dinner?

Tracie - that's some morph, have fun (perhaps if you get a suite it could be romantic lol).

bit the bullet & ordered a new laptop off Dell...waiting for their "tech approval":confused3 before they will build it - weird imo.

DSs getting the 2 year old HP for Xmas; plus a cessation in allowance for a few months. He thought it was a swell deal, sounds scroogey to me;) /cheap; adds to my mean mom mystique.

Think i got a good deal-less than $900; plus a $100 GC rebate in 2 months which i've got ear-marked to extend the warranty?tell me now before it's too late..lol

Know nothing of Dell, they are the only co with XP available now (no Vista for us, friends have had so many issues). My specs:

*Inspiron 530 Intel Core2Duo processor #4500 (2.20 GHz, 800 FSB) w/Dual Chache
*2 GB DDR
*128 MB ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro
*320 gb HD
*Microsoft Office 2007 Home & Student Edition (excel, powerpoint, Word)

and last but,not least:

22 inch wide screen LCD Digital/Analog Monitor?:woohoo:

Jeez, I'm not even in the top 20 on this thread!

Too many pets are dying! I think we should take some time to celebrate our beloved livestock and tell each other about some of our pet's stupid tricks.

My chocolate lab, Chula, has started some dumb traditions that my wife thinks are torturous on my part. First off, chula means pretty girl in Spanish. I call her Chewy and it totally upsets the wife (which is my job, right?). Chewy sounds like the nickname for Jesus and somehow its blasphemy to call her Chewy. Chewy is almost 2 and is a creature of habit. If I stand up she is 2 feet in front of me thinking I'm on my way to the bathroom. She loves to join me and sit in my ankle high underwear while I do my business. This was cute when she was a pup but now its kind of obtrusive. My wife thinks the torture part comes with the various aromas that I emit. Chewy loves the most disgusting of odors no matter where it is. She will take major nose hits off a roadkill. Chewy gives me a dirty look when I go to the bathroom and don't sit down.
Her second torture trick is to get between my legs when I get home and am taking off my shoes and socks. I scrunch up a sock like women do when they are fixing to put hose on. Chewy sticks her nose in the sock. She thrashes around then runs off the tile to the hallway carpet to wrestle the sock off her nose. She gets real excited for this trick and now can't wait to shove her nose in the sock rather than me putting it on her she dives right in. She get frustrated if I don't wear socks.
Please do not call PETA! What can your pet do?

My long line of folding tables will be seating 11. I think we will still have the food on a separate table, do the serve yourself thing, then find a spot at the table to sit. My family seems to get easily confused with the whole "which direction are we passing" stuff and dishes wind up colliding mid-table.

My dog is about 100 pounds of brown & white speckled bad attitude. Her name is Maggie, but she answers to "Pup" or "Pupper" more often than her name. She doesn't always come when she is called. Sometimes she just groans and rolls over. She emits horrible odors... the kind that can wake you from a dead sleep in the middle of the night. She drools long, slimy, stringy stuff that leaves a shiny spot... even when dry... on any piece of clothing it lands on. Daniel calls her "dam dog". I guess he's heard that somewhere. :rolleyes1

We have a weiner dog.

She is a miniature so I guess that makes her a cocktail weiner :lmao: :lmao:

Anyway, she talks. No, seriously, she does.

Jim started this months ago. When we give her the soft doggie treats, Jim asks her if she wants "Another one" and she repeats it in her growlspeak -as CLEAR as a bell too!!! Other people can understand it when she says it, so, my question is why am I not rich because of my talking dog?

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yeah, my frog sings AND dances... Hello my baby, hello my baby, hello my ragtime gal...

No really my black lab would growl or hum talk too.

Gee - my pets aren't very talented at all I guess!:confused3 Yes, my cat has mastered being directly under your feet when she wants to be fed, and shooting out the door at 90mph when someone opens it (although she's an indoor cat and not allowed out) and standing in the middle of your paper you're reading, but I guess that's all the talent here. She's mastered the litter box when she feels like it and regurgitating large amounts of "stuff" throughout the house at random intervals and locations! Guess we don't have a winner here! But she loves cudding up with the boys (or anyone actually) and of course they love her!

Tricia - glad you're having fun with the pre-Thanksgiving school stuff. By high school, all it means is large amounts of homework piled on to finish before the holiday!

And hey - look at the bright side! At least your mom didn't ask you to take her to TRU at 6am on Friday! That's when we're going (although I'm not sure why since we really don't need any toys - just for the "ambience")!

And I fell from number 6 to number 7 - guess I'm not talking as much! Kind of depressing I guess when you don't have a trip in the works!

Tracie - which Great Wolf are you going to? The one in Sandusky or is there one nearer to you? I don't know where you are in PA to know if it's close to Ohio or not!

Dead day at work here. Everyone else is either gone for the day or on an extended lunch! I'm leaving early to go to Conferences - Round 2. Should be deeply exciting. To follow Barb's bragging (think it was her - this computer's not fast enough to scroll back on and check), all our conferences were basically the teachers telling us "yes, your son has an A (occasionally A- or B+) in here - he's doing fine" (with the "So WHY the HECK are you here?" kind of implied) - guess that's what happens by high school!

Then we get to go home, finish packing, and get ready to head out early tomorrow. Chicagoland traffic on the day before Thanksgiving - my favorite! Think we should just have DS15 with his Temp do the driving through there? No, raelly he's going to do the early stretch of nothing between Green Bay and Milwaukee. Then he'll spend the rest of the trip texting his girlfriend that he COULD have spent the entire day with if we weren't so inconsiderate as to leave in the morning to go visit FAMILY instead! Sigh!

Everyone have a great holiday in case I don't get a chance to check in again!

Sounds like you'd really miss the Pupper.

Yeah. She's a pain in the butt, but she's our pain in the butt and we love her.

I had to educate Brad on the concept of "pets are members of the family". When he first told me that the kid who was washing trailers for us part time had some pups that he needed to get rid of, he suggested we could keep it in a pen in the yard. Ummmm... no. If we are getting a dog, it will live in the house with us. Then he said something about us giving it a try and if it didn't work out we could just take it to the humane society. Ummmm... no. If you bring a dog home, it will not leave. Ever. Then he said that maybe we should wait awhile and look around for a dog. I asked him what the kid was going to do with the pups if they didn't get a home. Brad said that the kid was trying to get them out of the house because his dad had told him he had one week after the pups were weaned to find them a home or he would drown the litter.

That was 8 years ago. December, 1999. I handed Brad the car keys and told him we would rescue a pup and offer to take the rest to the local shelter for adoption. Maggie the Mutt has been ours ever since.

We have a weiner dog.

She is a miniature so I guess that makes her a cocktail weiner :lmao: :lmao:

I have a friend that has a... wait, let me get this right... a red, long haired, mini dachshund. His name is Frank (short for frankfurter).

Yes, I'm glad we're still at the age of wearing paper indian feathers and enjoying it.

My mom called me a little while ago to say that she was looking through a paper and that she saw a battery powered ride on toy for Daniel that will be on sale from 5am to 10am on Friday. I told her I would give her the $30 difference if she would let us go buy it now. :rolleyes1

I just spent a few minutes on the Community Board. Didn't post anything, didn't read any posts, but I did browse the post titles... such as:

Blood in urine
Don't take your thumbs for granted
Vote for my fat cat
Help! It's not poop! I think it's a dead animal!
Would you cut up your wife, husband, partner's shirts
Lump on my mom's dog
Pig found in toilet roll
Do you want your body to be embalmed?
My baby sister's best friend's baby sister
I think I'm a snob or maybe just paranoid

The thing that struck me is, this isn't an odd day on the CB. Have you ever just sat an read through the titles on the first page or two?

Just thought I'd share. Why should I be the only one creeped out and amused all at the same time? :scared1:

Yeah - it is an interesting set over there. I have found the most hilarious group of women on the PMS thread. I was on a WPASADI team with one of them and we (the team) still keep in touch with each other......they were hysterical and we did really well up until someone submitted our entry late and we were booted the second to last team round.

I am having a meltdown.

wold someone please send to me in common everyday english the instructions for sending a photo thru photobucket.

God Bless!

I also think Tricia should have a LOT more posts...she posts at least twice a day ..... I would think she'd have more :confused3

ok.......i'll recount them all after midnight tonight.
this is the day/night i stay up until the rooster crows.....

DM hope your Birthday was a great one! :bday:

Have any of you seen the movie Windtalkers w/Nicholas Cage? It is coming in my netflix.

I was thinking of getting National Treasure, but not certain about it.

IT IS SNOWING PRETTY GOOD RIGHT NOW HERE IN MAINE :cool1:
