Hi everyone! As Mac said, we were able to at least catch each other briefly. I didn't even realize she was in the park. I left a message on her cell in the morning, and when she didn't call back/answer, I figured she'd ended up with other stuff to do. Apparently we were having cell coverage problems, because she got my message but couldn't understand it at all. Then she called a bit later, but of course in the chaos of Six Flags I didn't hear it and it only showed "private" call. I did try calling her again, but she also didn't pick up again, so I figured it hadn't been her, and didn't leave a message. Then she saw my number and called back, but it was late in the day! I don't much like driving at night, especially with kids that aren't mine, so we were trying to get out of there. Left around 4:20 and drove straight through and hit Green Bay around 7. It was only totally dark probably the last 15-20 minutes.
It was great to see her though, and of course as soon as we left, for the second time, I was mentally slapping myself upside the head for not getting a pic. I had my cell at least and had been using it to get pics of the boys during the day. DS' girlfriend had a camera and I could have had her take a pic! Although based on how I looked by that point of the day, maybe it was better that we didn't get one. Wouldn't want to scare you all too much!
I thought the weather turned out okay. It was cool in the morning, but by the time we left had become sunny and pleasant. Yes, probably still lower 50's, but I've been to parks (including Disney) in much worse! Since we were moving and there are so many people (WAY too many people!), we were really only cold when we sat and ate lunch outdoors and got a bit chillled.
Boy, I'm just amazed at the Fast Pass concept they have there. I guess their new version is really new (since Labor Day) and I've never been when it was SO crowded. Basically pay $15ish to work like Disney's FP - if the line says 50 minutes, sync your Tamagotchie-type necklace there, go do what you want and return in 50 minutes. But, no exaggeration, from 10am when they opened until at least 2pm when I last went by, the line to BUY FP's was I would guess at least 100 people long! I'm assuming at some point later in the day, they had to return to that line to get some kind of a deposit back on them too. Just crazy. Can't believe how much money they're making off that and that Disney hasn't jumped on that bandwagon quite yet!
But the park was just completely jammed. Around 2, I left the teens to watch a couple shows, and went out to the car to bring some stuff out, change shoes, and decided to just sit and relax a bit. We were near an aisle where people were walking into the park, and I'd say at that point, there were still probably at least 20 people entering the park for each one leaving. Learning point is that if you really want to ride rides (not go for the shows/haunted houses, etc.), you're a whole lot better off going in May than October and the weather's not much different!
As I told Mac though, we won't get passes for next year. About one year at a time is all I can take of the riffraff at those parks - the employees even moreso than the visitors. And the prices! Yesterday was the first time I've eaten at the park (more than just snacks). Bought a chicken sandwich for me, chicken strips for DS14, fries for both of us, and a large soda to split. $27.50!
(I'd given the other kids money to buy lunch on their own - evidently not enough as it turned out). We stopped at A&W on the way home and got 5 combo meals for almost $5 less than the lunch for 2 of us! Bottled water was $3.50 before tax! We should have just taken our abled bodied kids and walked out of the park to Subway or BK!
But they usually have a deal where if you buy your passes during Halloween, you can get in free the rest of the year and the whole next year. That's what we did last year, but we wouldn't have gotten any benefit from it this year since we already had the passes. So maybe next year we'll wait until then, go one weekend for 2 days and get our passes good through the following year. Although if they don't have that deal, I don't think my kids would be devastated to miss going for a year!

. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes to $4/ bottle by next summer. It wouldn't surprise me if it did, tho I would be upset if it did.

That is very sweet from all of you! We may not know anything for awhile with how the interveiw went after Tues. Sounds like they will be interviewing 2 or 3 other people for the position. But I will let you all know when I find out anything.

very scary stuff, tends to affect the whole family.
; it's me & the ghouls.
Had a coupon, they were there, and "Mommy cookies" are extremely popular in this house...they get eaten as fast as I make 'em....no lie
believe me...I tried
(This happened a week later when there were "imperfections" in his pirate costume too)...So, lesson here: Halloween Adventure will most likely discount an "imperfected" costume. Oh, and after the half off....costume was only $15
Poor Ad
I'll never understand why women color their hair darker when they get older?? You want to color it lighter...you're coloring it cuz it's getting gray...gray is lighter...lighter color equals less noticeable roots...... Anyhows Alison...I like the current do..very flattering on ya! Don't ever go "blonde blonde"...unless you want to get DH hot n bothered with a blonde wig!
