Barb... wow... way to ketchup... let me just say
Now that makes me feel all guilty for not doing the same...
Okay, I'm over it.
The gifted program doesn't start until next year and I don't know what I'm going to do about it yet. Let me say that I AM NOT BRAGGING here, I'm just going to pass on what the teacher told me. If anything, I am baffled and concerned. In Georgia standardized testing, they want the kids to be able to read at a Level 1 by the time they leave Kindergarten. That means that they recognize 45 words on sight. Joshua is reading at a Level 14, which is considered 3rd Grade. His beginning of the year "math and spacial relationship" test, he scored 88%. She said most Kindergarteners beginning of the year test (given the second week of school) score an average of 35%. I would LOVE to take credit for his smarts, but I don't think I can. I don't know where it is coming from. Maybe he isn't really ours...
Nope, the memory of labor and delivery is still too vivid!!!

They are releasing Carol from the hospital today, so I am hopefully going to be able to see her this afternoon once she is home. I have to try and find time to buy a bag of candy to donate to the "Fall Festival" at school. They also want little prizes for the games, so I have to see what I can find for that. Laundry has piled up again. Sigh. I best get to it. I'll check in later and see what you guys are chatting about.

Better things to do!

. Our school dist. has a daily "special" class in elementary; then in HS you select from advanced classes & activities. DS has settled on math
& english concentrations. Takes enrichment classes now & then @ CMU (carnegie mellon - scholarship thank goodness...told him not to get used to the rarified atmosphere
. I participated too back in the dark ages too, he says he wants to qualify & win, just to beat his mum.
