Hey everyone.

Had to go to the dentist today...AGAIN. Had to leave work early because the pain was excruciating. I also had a bad reaction to the penicillin which made me almost all night. Got about 3.5 hours sleep.

So it seems that my gum infection is getting better, but I may actually have an infection under the crown of a tooth I had a root canal done on years ago. I'm going in tomorrow right before our swim meet for an emergency root canal .

Now I'm on a regiment of Advil about every 3 hours for the pain....sigh....

Nothing ever works out.

Well anyways, I wanna hear more about the job thing Barb...and when are we going to Chat again???

Gemma....I agree....start talkin' about her....words can hurt more than fists.... aren't girls known for spreadin' nasty rumors anyway?

Long story short w/ the job thing...they've been lookin for a reason to get rid of me for a year now..... (only part time). Didn't go to a 'mandatory' meeting on Sunday (uh, from 8am-5) and they wanted proof of why (will get into this later)... They didn't think I had proof, so went back over the past year and accumulated my latenesses, absenteeisms, etc..... Which, I can counter-document everything they have with valid reasons (ie: bus was late). Also telling me my work falls behind....well, I am the ONLY person doing it (never had anyone else trained to help me) AND I was told to do other peoples work...which I have very detailed documentation of...So, since they don't think they can fire me cuz i missed the meeting Sunday, they are going back looking for a reason....which, I have BETTER documentation than they do so when (not IF) we get to unemployment, my records will be better than theirs!

Have to do homework now....watchin Survivor and CSI, so prolly won't check in until 10ish or so......

BTW Barb, don't know the labor/unemployment laws in all states... but here, if we don't document grievances with an employee IN WRITING, signed by both employer and employee... going back over your past performance means NOTHING.

At the unemployment board review, "Did you document the improper behavior and reprimand of the employee in writing at the time the infraction occurred? Show me a signed copy..."
"Do you have 3 such infractions documented within a 30 day period? Show me the signed copies..."

In other words, it is dang hard for an employer to deny an unemployment claim in the state of Georgia. Didn't matter if employee was fired or quit... if there were legitimate reasons or not... if you don't have a ton of signed documentation saying you intended to fire the employee and the employee continued to do horrible things all within a short period of time... the employee WILL get unemployment.

Did I mention my Mom used to work there and she actually GOT me the job? Anyway, they were looking for a reason to fire her...and eventually they did. She fought for 6 months for her unemployment and finally won it all. Bottom line? "Did the employee DO the job?" Answer was 'yes' cuz she won..... WHEN it comes to arguing it, I will win....I've got detailed documentation that they don't. Did I do the job? Absolutely. Did I do it fast enough for them? Uh, no. Why? Because your business grew 56.8% in a year and you didn't hire/train anyone to help me accomodate the growing business/workload....AND, you had me doing other people's work...of which, I have details of who i helped, doing what, and how long it took me

First and foremost, thank you for keeping my thread a-hopping! Yeah, baby! I think it's turned into one big, long rant about anything and everything with weddings. Page 14!!! Boo-yah!

I was laundering and gyming and tanning (booth, bad I know ... but really I could've written the fake tan episode on Friends when Ross goes in and his color is uneven ... more than that ... I got the fake tan and got a pedicure and when she exfoliated my calves the tan came off). Just usual pre-trip stuff. Mike hates his new haircut, but I think he looks hot and told him to buck it up cuz he just has to get used to it!

We leave on Saturday morning, so I hope to "see" you guys tomorrow! Tomorrow (if you're keeping track) is mani/pedi, tanning, gym, and cleaning for the cat sitter. Big day!

Glad I didn't miss you Jodie. Thread is on Page 15 now. Once people started comparing wedding expectations from different parts of the country, things got interesting again.

Joshua suddenly decided to run a fever last night. He came in here when I was on the computer and did the, "Mommy, my head hurts..." thing. I felt of him and, yep, hot to the touch. I had ONE dose of Children's Tylenol in the cabinet, so after giving him that I ran to the only 24 hour store we have here (Ingle's grocery store) and got both Tylenol and Motrin (never know which the fever is going to respond to or if I have to go on that switch back and forth rotation). Did I mention it was raining? Buckets? And my car only has one working wiper these days? Got back home, checked on him, and he's doing the sleep-jerks thing. I'm worried about how high the fever might be going, so I climb in bed with him. He breaks a sweat before too long and this morning... no fever. I asked him if anything hurts... no... anything feels bad... no. So... I dunno what that was all about. He's at school now. I guess if it develops into anything, I'll know soon...

I finally sold a bunch of "valuable items" on eBay; need to ship it off today. Who knew there was a market for used Crocs? Just might motivate me to clean out more closets. more $ for vacations.

middle DS upset he has to work the weekends & will miss Phantom Fright Nights tomorrow @ Kennywood. he suggested we have a mom/son weekend next year & sneak off to U! 'course i'm buying, and the rest of the family would want to come too.

Have i mentioned it's been in the 80's here all week & not a drop of rain? supposed to almost reach 90 today...told DH it was too early to close the pool last week.

I wasted a good afternoon yesterday at the stinking Phillies game Charlie has to go - he completely mismanaged that game. We are down, but not out yet!

Same old, same old going on here. Fbean has turned into a tackling machine. I need to video the little dance he does after making one - its too funny!

On a more serious note, can you guys send my little bro and sil some mummy dust? They start in vitro next week. They have been trying for 4 years and this is the last step for them. They have been married for 6 years (I was 36 weeks preggo with fbean in their wedding ) I won't go into WHY they can't get preggo, its TMI, but just know they really, really, really want this.

Mac and I hit HHN last night and had a blast! I stopped by and said hi to Phamton on my way out. Since I had to work today, I couldn't stay as long as I wanted.

Tracie, I am sorry your Phils lost. I went to school in Colorado, but I'll still root for your Phils! They've come back from worse! And I hope your brother and sister-in-law have success. Such a shame that people who truly want and would love a child have trouble having one.

Todd, can't wait to read your TR. I meet up with mac Sunday night for the RIP. This is our first RIP. I am actually a bit of a scaredy cat, so I think that will be our only night at HHN so I wanted to do it high style.

Barb, of course you can see before pics of Mike on our May TR. Mike's bio dad is (was?) Italian, and Mike takes after bio dad apparently because he doesn't look like anyone else in his family. He likes to slick his hair back and I've been trying to tell him forever that it's too guido! Now he's got the tousled look up top instead. He hates it. Says it looks ridiculous and too young for someone almost 40. She left it long enough so he can still slick it back though. Wish she wouldn't have done that because that's what he'll continue to do, I'm sure! Let us know any more job updates you have!

Uh...has he ever seen MY DH's hair??? It's long and he's over 40! Tell him he's "in style" now...that the "Guido" is not "in"...only for the old Italian men. Make sure to point out other men's styles in the parks....he'll see what I mean......

May not get fired Monday after all.....DH says has a plan....IF they aren't planning on 'not excusing' my day off, I'll just go into work and work regular. They won't be expecting it Then, no reason to terminate me. He said to say: "I've made other arrangements that are extremely inconvenient for me and my family....thanks for being so understanding"

Haveta run to work (salon) now..... check in this afternoon....
