That is really, really sad, DM. I'm sorry your friend died so violently.

Glad to hear she is there safely....you know what they say..... a bad day in Fla. on vacation is better than ANY good day at home!!!

Why do you think I am still at office job (after they told me I wasn't worth a raise??)...easy money to plunk into vacation.... DH pays the bills, I save for vacations (notice the 'plural').... i try to get as many as i can too...just DH limited to 5 weeks vacay/year (better than nuthin i guess)...... Such a shame it's so expensive.....when I move to Fla., all my homies are invited to bunk w/ me (try not to come peak time so we don't need to get a room at UO for FOTL )

Speakin' of unappreciative employer, better git goin' for the day..... soccer practice tonite and such, so might not be back till later tonite....but BEFORE CSI NY

DM- I am so sorry about your friend. My in laws have a place in Oviedo and are currently house sitting for my SIL in Winter Springs. They mentioned the murder when we talked to them this morning. How horrible to find out that it was someone you called friend.

kept after DH for the last week to try his dress/suit shirts on; jik they don't fit anymore...he kept putting it off; finally - i corraled him last night...

yep, apparently his neck & arms grew several inches or else i shrunk the heck outta them

add a run to jcpenny to my to-do list today ; then the hair; then the confirmation dinner (that middle DS set up/course i'm footing the bill; it's the thought that counts i guess?); then the actual confirmation...i'll be so glad when this over.

DM - also wanted to add in my condolences. You just can't believe stuff like that happens until it actually happens to someone you know.

For the rest of you who insist how much you like pics, I have some (not-so-exciting) pics for you. I know I've told you about youngest DS and how he goes through phases of things he's interested in. Earlier this summer was those 3D puzzles:

He and dad also always seem to have a regular puzzle going on the coffee table too. This was one of those mosaic ones that they absolutely had to finish before our trip (rather than helping me pack, say!):

I also mentioned that DS got into knitting, which he's still into. Haven't taken any pics lately, but here are a few of the first things he made:

He's currently just moved into Lego Robotics. We had a set in the basement (that we've probably had for 10 years and has never been touched before) and has had all kinds of fun building and programming. Now he desperately wants a new version for Christmas. I insisted we wait until shortly before Christmas before we consider buying it since the odds are he'll have moved on to something new by then!

Oh, and I haven't been here lately because we've been having all kinds of trouble with the computer.

Sunday, the computer started being lethargic, but working slowly. By Monday morning I could do basic internet stuff, but nothing with popups and couldn't do email and the whole thing kept locking up. Finally by late afternoon, our computer stopped working entirely (at least as far as internet/email) and by evening we had no phone service at all! Since we have the same provider for both (digital phone) I didn't know if it could be connected and tried calling their service number, but just got an immediate error message.

Finally got through to them this morning and actually spoke with an intelligent person who was able to walk me through a series of troubleshooting steps and get both the phone, and the computer working again - the computer better than it's been working at all lately! Amazing!!

DM I'm really sorry to hear about your loss- it's so sad that the world has come to this! I hope the killer gets locked aqway for a long time- he is sick!! You are in my thoughts. xxx
