Hi all!

Sorry, haven't been here in a few days :guilty:
Been busy at home, lots of phone callls, paperwork, etc

I don't think I'll be able to catch up with everyone.

My kids had a half day of school Wed, so hte kids came home before noon on Wed, which gave me really no time to be on the Disboards.
Lots of phone calls, Matthew's gifted teacher called me back yest, questions I had for her. Phone calls to and from my mom(mostly from my mom). Getting her to sell the popcorn fundraiser at her work, for Matthew's Cub scout fundraiser. My mom hates to be put in this situation, but I told her she had to do it for Matthew :)

Mac- hope you feel better soon! :wizard: :wizard:
When are leaving again?

Gemma- Welcome back! :cool1: I should have invited you to my step-neice's wedding last weekend. You would have loved the dancing and drinking :drinking1

Loribell- did you get your Hannah Montana tickets? I couldn't remember if you got them or not. I didn't even realize the Hannah M tickets went on sale by me last Sat., but we were out of town for the wedding anyways. I've been reading Ticketmaster and some other ticket places(ie. Stubhub) have scalped many, many tickets  :headache:
That really makes me mad, b/c Chrissy really wants to go see Hannah M, too!

Hi to all!

Ok, gotta run,talk later.

Hi Rose! I did get the tickets, but I had to get Ally a membership to Mileyworld so that we could order them the day the presale started. So I ordered them on Tuesday and they weren't supposed to go on sale to the general public until Saturday. Well there were no tickets for the general public, they all sold out that Tuesday. The tickets came in the mail today, concert is the 15th of November.

They really need to do something about the mess they have. Even if you had been there to buy tickets Saturday you would not have gotten them. I checked and they were going on sale in 22 or so places on Saturday but every one of them were showing that they were sold out during the presale. I know there were a lot of little girls with broken hearts.

i wish i could respond to all of you but not able to right now.
i am sick.
i have meniere's disease and wiped out

when i can sit up longer, i will be back.

yea, haven't packed or organized yet for the trip.

you all take care homies.
i need to read back to see what is happening to all you homies.

mac, does meniere's affect your ability to fly comfortably? I don't know all that much about it except that involves inner ears and balance (I think), but you have me concerned!

Glad you found some shorts. Hope you didn't do that on my account! ;)

Hi all. Have to work first thing in the am, so won't be a late night for me.

Tricia, is he still alive??????????????????????:surfweb:

Yes. He redeemed himself. He knew I was pissed, so when he came home he was EVER so helpful around the house. Keeping the boys busy while I finished dinner (chicken & dumplings and cornbread... I have tons of leftovers if anyone is interested). Gathered the dishes, loaded the dishwasher, even cleaned up the messy stovetop and stored the leftovers. Hauled a load of laundry up and another down. He is right now putting the boys to bed. I think for a slip of the memory, he has more than earned my forgiveness. ;)

So, nobody wants to share pregnancy pics, huh? How about the first car idea? Here I am on my 19th birthday. It was the mid-eighties, so dig my big hair, heavy eyeliner, and (I think) Stevie Nicks concert tshirt:

My19th.jpg

After a couple of token gifts, I was given the biggie sitting on the driveway. My parents have a steep drive, so the picture isn't crooked, it's just the lay of the land:

stopping in for a quickie:banana: hi to all

mac, yikes - crappy timing for it flare up:scared1: hope you feel better...have u tried ativan?

thanks lori - they both need a good, old-fashioned smack down.

DS is wound mighty tightly lately, stretching himself too thin, getting jerked around by employer/scheduling-political bs:rolleyes1 ; still no excuse to be a jerk. We've cleared the air & i've laid down the law...he's creeping around with tail between his legs...we'll soon see if he's going to walk the talk this time

ps hannah montana/billy ray are on 20/20 right now!

gemma - we're going to have to get your mum to sew your name/address in your clothing jik you get lost;) . Be careful in the big city:)

tricia - still have the car?:) lucky duck; i drove my dad's old chevy biscayne until it fell apart...just noticed; your hair's not blonde!

i've never eaten chicken & dumplins...not even sure what a dumplin looks like:confused3 .

if i was mad @ DH he'd get squat for dinner;) and no "dessert".:rotfl:

take lots of photos......
I am contemplating this for another visit down the road:thumbsup2

Normally I'm the Grand Shutterbug, but for HHN, I don't even bother taking my camera. I'll only be there for one night, so I want to absorb everything. Plus the flash really wrecks the experience.

Respect the Scareactors. :cool2:

Hey homies......I been keeping up, but haven't posted in awhile ......

Let me 'ketchup'....as our beloved Macraven would say.....speaking of Macraven....she's off to a wonderful vacation!! Hope you have safe travels, no worries and a great time! We expect a full trippie and LOTZ of pix upon your return .......

And, speaking of trippies, still waitin' on VA KFed! ;) No, we didn't forget!

Dark Marauder.... glad to hear you get to do HHN! :thumbsup2 Meetin' w/ the others? You HAVE to take lots of pix...young un ;) (Even if you have to go TWO nights....)

Alison..... June 26th is our fly day. We take the first flight of the day and do the parks that day (after checkin). Last trip (June), we flew down, stopped at grocery store, checked in and was in front of NBA City @ CW by 11am. We fly the first flight to spend the entire day at the parks. We'll be there from the 26th-28th (after being in the parks the day of the 28th, we're heading to the hotel at the port for the cruise leavin' the 29th) We may be able to work something out....since WE arrive very early. I was glad to read your son didn't give up on football. Ryan's instructor at karate told them at their blackbelt ceremony, that quitting is the easiest thing you'll ever do. The more he practices, the better he'll get, the more playing time he'll get. (Also tell him the chicks like football players)

Gemma....glad to see you back! Sorry you don't feel well  ....but getting that drunk is not going to help...... Be glad when you are able to be here 'fulltime' again....oh, and noticed the new sig and av!

Janet....5lbs. Way to go girl!!!! I don't think you were describing 'fish' in that picture :rolleyes1 , but I dare not say what...... Oh, and I know Sheetz (conveniece stores) got a license to sell alcohol (one store only so far as a test) and I believe it's in/near Altoona somewhere (their 'homebase')....alcohol/beer may be coming soon to a store near you (uh-oh...that might be a bad thing for you )

Sharon... I know I missed you, but hope you have a good, productive weekend. Looking forward to hearing about it.

Marcie....liking the TR....how come your pix from the beginning of it aren't showing up anymore? :confused3

Mike.....HEY!!! Welcome! You are a brave man to witness everything you did....but, (as my DH will attest to) it's very interesting! I would have like to have had a mirror to watch Bubba bein' born, but things were kinda crazy and I didn't have the time to think about it ...oh well. Important thing is he was here safe. I hear having kidney stones is comparable to giving birth...dunno, never had the stones....but I DID give birth without any drugs of any kind (even the good ones I was supposed to have), and it was painful, but totally worth it!! (Would definately do it again....IF I really wanted to....but don't ;) )

Rose...glad to see you stopping by. I know how busy 1 kid is, let alone 2! :lmao: I agree that the Hannah Montana ticket thing is outta control and so not fair....unfortunately, stuff like that is gonna happen when you have 'internet' people out there trying to make money :sad2: ...at the expense of the little girls......

Penny....Are you supposed to be giving us more trip report? :confused3

Tracie.... I don't expect to see you this weekend...you and your DH have got some birthday 'celebrating' to do..... AND, btw, how WAS your day??? As we say here: "Whadya get? Whadya get? Whadya get?" Very cool inviting an old friend of your DH's over....I did something similar to that for DH's 40th.....Got in touch with an old friend/girlfriend, and her and her DH came here for dinner and to hang out for the day (they live in VA and stayed at her sister's nearby). Then, last summer, before we went to Kings Dominion, we stayed the night at their house and 'hung out'....it was very nice. She's a nice person and her husband is nice too. They are avid 'shooters' and told Bubba all about guns and gun safety. They let him hold a real gun (so he would know what one felt like) and he was actually a little afraid to hold it because the police had always told him NOT to touch one :lmao: We told him it was okay because of all the adults and it wasn't loaded and such....it was interesting for us all. *Sorry....got sidetracked!

Jodie...yep...meniere has 'ear' issues...I wondered about the flying too, but guessing meds/decongestent would help???? Glad to see you ain't working nites....altho some of your posts were pretty funny :rolleyes1 AND, KID suites at RPR??? Thanks for posting about that...I am 'in' that thread.....

Lori....you weren't being a 'thread hog' ....you were catching up!! Let me reciprocate: Glad to hear your Dad is doing better. Amazing how you feel when you have no worries. I read the story about the tough love you had to give your son...sometimes you HAVE to do it (altho it kills ya at the time), I'm just glad it worked for you guys. (My Mom tried that with my sister, and it didn't work....that's why she is 'disowned') I would agree also with your comment about the ref's and rules changing in pro sports. My DFIL used to bet on Eagles games and rely on it as a source of income (was working 3 jobs, plus betting to 'live'....had 4 kids). Once the refs starting 'controlling' the game, and screwin' up calls, he decided not to 'chance' it anymore. And look at the refs that now admit to 'controlling' the game.....ridiculous! AND, a shame..... Oh, thanks for the info on doctor 'tested' and 'recommended'.....makes sense now that you mention it. But, having the doctors I do, I would trust any of them...and I DO ask questions. First one always being "does this affect my pill?" LOL.... (And I think the problem with Robbie [on Bubba's soccer team] is that there ISN'T a "father" in his life...Mom is doing it alone, and well, her elevator doesn't go to the top floor either  ...kwim??) How was the parade btw?? Any pix of Ally???

Tricia....hey.....666 REDRUM :lmao: Glad to hear your DH was sorry AND kissin' yer butt for it!! You deserve it!!! Oh, and let the house be a mess! I used to worry so much about it...but, someone told me that when Bubba is older, he won't remember a clean house, he'll remember the times we spent together and the things we did. My motto is: if you don't like it, don't look and if you have to look, Swiffer is under the sink! :thumbsup2 Now, about that rum and tequila story and the 'losing clothes' (spill it woman!) However, I DO like the car...lucky you! Had to buy my own POS and 'forego' my senior class trip to WDW while my sister got to go on hers!!! Don't get me started!!!! And you are not crazy, you are brave for posting your preggy pix....don't know where a handy preg pic of me is. But I did get DH to scan a wedding pic of us.... My Grandpop walking me down the aisle...lookin' nervous and at the reception.....the garter..... note the shoes! :rotfl2:
I was glad to hear Joshua's dentist appt went well. Kids are like that...one day they just 'click' :confused3 Now he can 'role model' for Daniel when the day comes...cuz he will want to be like big brother :thumbsup2 I agree there is too much 'elementary' fundraising...what do the schools do with all the money?? But, of all things, buying books isn't all that bad! We read lots of books when Ry was little, I believed it helped him become a strong reader. (Last year in 2nd grade, he was reading a high, hard 4th grade level book....AND doin pretty darn well at it too!) You'll always remember that time together reading....and it will help him too! I will be thinking of your sister next week with all her appts...please keep us posted. And even tho we are 'between' churches, I have her and your family in my prayers.....(more room now that I don't have to include Penny's toe :lmao: ) To answer your question about "x" number of "eggs in the basket"...I am not sure if you're born with 'x' many or not? I agree insurance is stupid when it comes to deciding what they want to pay for. Cheaper to have the vas than a kid...duh! For instance: our dental only covers 1 fluoride treatment a year for Bubba (but covers 2 cleanings...every 6 mths.). So, you aren't covering a $16 treatment?? Okay, pay for sealants then So, I did it and made 'em pay.....HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
I also got DH to scan that pic of my friends husband. Here's a pic of him on their wedding day (cropped my friend out cuz she had cake all over her face!).....you can't tell me he doesn't remind you of Brad??? I think he does!!!!!

Well, I've been replying for about 45 minutes now..... nuthin' else much new here! Starting to shop for that new videocamera.....then we'll be able to bore y'all with MORE musicvideos!!HAHAHAHA .....oh, and afaik, my back light has NOT gone off yet...whew!!!!

Dark Marauder.... glad to hear you get to do HHN! :thumbsup2 Meetin' w/ the others? You HAVE to take lots of pix...young un ;) (Even if you have to go TWO nights....)
I'm most likely going on the first Sunday that HHN has--Oct 7. Again, most likely. Anyone who is going then would have to meet me in the S&S area.

Sometime this weekend Barb I promise!!

Just keep :surfweb:

Did you check the thread macraven started about who was going what dates?

Mornin' all.......off to work.......smell ya's l8r!! :cool2:

Well, this weekend is starting off with a whimper.

I couldn't sleep well last night. Kept tossing and turning, and when I would drop off to sleep I was having weird dreams. I finally gave up about 5am and got up. I have already baked a batch of blueberry muffins, got dinner in the Crock Pot, showered, and done two loads of laundry. It's not quite 8am on a SATURDAY!!!

I'm heading down to civilization today. The boys need a haircut (and with school pictures next week, I can't put it off anymore)... plus I got an invitation to an old friend's baby shower. She's registered at Babies R Us, and the closest one to me is about an hour's drive away. Sigh. Such is life in the boonies.

Mac - I am so sorry to hear that you aren't at your physical best just before vacation. Tell that sick stuff to take a hike!

Janet - I seriously WISH I still that car. My sister, Carol, bought a Camero the year before I got my Firebird. She still has it. I think she told me that next year it will be considered an antique. I traded my Firebird in on a Ford Tempo not too long after I got married the first time. I think I was trying to prove how grownup I was. :sad2:

Barb - Glad to see you posting. I was beginning to think I needed to come looking for you. :magnify:
Thanks for the wedding pics. You made a gorgeous bride!
Yes, I was lucky to get the car. I was the only one of the kids that did. I am the youngest of 4 and significantly younger at that (my oldest sister is 12 years older than I am, my brother is 11 years older, and my other sister is 7.5 years older). By the time I was in my mid teens, all the other kids were through college and gone from home, so my parents had a lot more money to throw at me than the others.

A tequila story, huh? Yeah, I've got a couple. The first that comes to mind is one where we had been out to a bar and I had consumed a monster margarita by myself (think goldfish bowl sized drink). We decided we wanted to go dancing. There was a group of we girls and few guys that had joined us. When we got to the club, one of the guys wasn't going to be admitted because he was wearing a tshirt. The club had a "guys have to wear shirts with collars" rule. Dunno why, but I was wearing a polo shirt... so, I came up with the brilliant solution of trading shirts with him. Right there. At the door to the club. In front of the guy collecting the cover charge, the bouncer, and a uniformed cop... plus all the other people waiting to get in. Why I wasn't arrested, I haven't a clue. Everyone just laughed and let us in. I don't even know who the guy was and I never got my shirt back.

I have others, but you get the idea. Ah, to be young and stupid again.

I'm off to Atlanta. I'll check in later if I can!

Barb - I don't know about the pics. I can see all of them fine. I had some folks on TGM complain about the same thing, so I told them to check this board. They insisted they couldn't see many of the pics on the first page and some on the second page. But I've had other people check them out and they can see all of them. Weird! :confused3

Tricia - I love your bar story. Makes perfect sense to me! (At least after a large margarita!) What was the problem? Um, we've done something similar, but involving shoes, not shirts! ;) We were in line for a coaster at Cedar Point once and the kid behind us had been measured at the entrance and allowed in, but when we got to the ride station they measured him again and said he was a little too short. He was wearing a pair of flip-flops and DS (who was more than tall enough) was wearing tennis shoes. Told them to swap shoes and voila - he was tall enough. We did get our shoes back though!

I couldn't sleep well last night. Kept tossing and turning, and when I would drop off to sleep I was having weird dreams.

I can't sleep, I get really bad hullucinations and sleep walk. It's strange. Last night I woke up thinking there were spiders all over my bed so stayed awake for hours refused to lie on my bed- I hate losing sleep!!

Ohhh want to hear my new life philosiphy? My friend told me it and it fits me perfectly- "When life throws me lemons, I bust open the tequila and salt!" I love it!!

I always think American cars are big. Not in the sense that they are all huge but most of the cars in America are family sized cars. I rarely see smaller cars when I go on holiday (maybe it's just Florida?) I got my first car for my 17th birthday.

Here's a pic (not my exact car- this is off the net but mine was the same):

blue%20ka%201.jpg

It was an alright little car, but lots of things kept going wrong with it. My mum really didn't want me to practise driving in it incase it broke when I was out in it so we sold it and got a new car.

Here's my current baby:

192896636619.jpg

And yes, it is yellow and I LOVE IT!! lol.

My parents were so sweet with my car. They woke me up at 6am and made me come outside with no make up, bed hair, jammies on- the lot! There was my wee Ka with balloons all over it and a giant bow on it!! And what surrounded it? All my friends and family!! My granny took about 100 pics- I looked sooo terrible!!!

Morning all

SHHHHHH :tiptoe: t-minus 1 hour till first birthday surprise - guess where DH's friend is going when I drop him off at the airport tomorrow? Yup, Disney :lmao: His family is driving from their house in KY and should arrive late today.

mac - awwwwwwww crud, hope you are feeling better (is she really gone? no goodbye? :scared: ) Naaahhhh, j/k I know she wasn't feeling up to par.

barb - what did I get for my day? I got to do laundry and run my kids to cheer and football :lmao: :lmao: Seriously, I got my present two weeks before my birthday, remember that band we went to see, Marah (I  those guys - google 'em sometime) That is what I wanted. On my actual birthday I got cards from the kids and my ultimate favorite dinner from DH. He made meatballs, sausage, GRAVY (yes, we are Italian and that is the way we were brought up to call it - home made from tomatoes - took all day), gnocchis and garlic bread. :cloud9:

Well, let me go tidy up a bit more and try to get the kids to put away all of the :laundy: I have done and folded and is sitting on the dining room table. (don't need a guest seeing our unmentionables - may scare the poor fella away :lmao: :lmao: )

My first car way a 1976 Toyota Cressida (this is one off the net its not my actual car) and the front doors did not open from the inside, yup had to roll down the windows and open them from the outside:scared: :scared:

cressida.jpg

Gemma - Is that a Mini? I test drove one of those and seriously considered buying one, but with 2 kids still in carseats it just didn't make sense.

Todd or anyone else down there, you guys okay? My in laws called this morning to tell us they were fine. I was like, "Ummm... okay... good to know..." Then they said that a tornado had touched down about 20 miles away from them. They are house sitting for SIL while she & her hubby are in Europe somewhere. Her house is in the Orlando suburbs, so I don't know where exactly the damage was or if it was anything major.

Afternoon all! Checkin' in....

Guess Tracie's surprise is in full swing now :yay: Hope it's going well..... :thumbsup2 Sounds like you had a nice birthday...and you are returning the favor to DH :thumbsup2

Gemma....love the mini! Enjoy it while you can, cuz one day (like Tricia said) you'll need to put a kid or two in it with you :crowded: What a great gift....and wonderful way to present it!

And Tricia....how lucky to be SO young and have the folks "throw" money atcha :thumbsup2 Go for it! By the way, did you think that pic looked like Brad? I certainly do! Hope your day got better..... At least you'll be tired and be able to sleep tonite ;) I can tell you that you accomplished MORE before 8am than I will ALL DAY :lmao: Hope you were able to get a baby gift... Doesn't it amaze you all the neat, cool stuff they have for new mommies and babies when you walk around Babies R Us?? ...and I thought they had cool stuff 9 years ago when I was waitin' for Bubba  Oh, and by the way....the tequila story.... :lmao: :thumbsup2 Wonderful!!! (By the way, what kinda friends did you have with you that didn't even help you get your shirt back :snooty: I'd gotten it fer ya!)

KFed...... :surfweb: :surfweb: (I know you're working on it....right :rolleyes1 )

DH & I are watchin' a movie (In Good Company)....Bubba is at a friends house.....goin' to have some quality time ;)

L8rs.....

It was a rare thing for me to have done all that so early. I am NOT a morning person. I'd rather stay up until after the kids have gone to bed than get up before them. That's why my exercise schedule is rough, but I'm sticking with it so far. I can't work out when Brad is watching. It makes me self conscious. So, I do it while he is in the shower in the morning.

Yes, the pic looked like Brad. You know, when he & I first started dating and he wore his hair longer, he used to get "You look like Willy Wonka" (Gene Wilder) all the time. Now that he's older and cuts his hair a little shorter, those comments have all but stopped.

I couldn't believe the baby registry when I printed it out at Babies R Us. SEVEN PAGES! I looked down the list thinking, "She doesn't need half this crap." She had 3, count them, THREE different kinds of strollers. I bought her a Boppy Pillow. That DID come in handy for me. My mom was with me and she said, "Are you going to buy her the cover for it."
Ummm... no. The pillow alone costs $25. The cover costs... $25. Huh? I love her and all, but I ain't spending $50 for a shower gift.
