murphy struck again.....

2 weeks ago , the car was chugging at the start, turned out the original battery with 120K on it finally gave up.
...okay, so we got a new one, and low and behold driving across the bridge last night, the check ingine light comes on.....
called aaa and had it towed out......was afraid it would leave me stranded getting it to a shop

WHY ME?????????????:headache:

let's not talk points from the mods:rolleyes1 :scared: :lmao:

hope she wins the makeover regardless...anyone who puts themselves out there is a brave soul imo.

penny - sux, hope it's something minor...did you check your gas cap/bad gas w/water in it would be the culprit i'd wish for:thumbsup2 ; let us know.

I got up crack of dawn & made italian wedding soup. It's cooling in the fridge (to skim off the fat); all i have to do is add the acini de pepe & i'm set.:woohoo: doesn't take much to get me fired up anymore.

I still remember each youngin' going off to kidnergarten (cherish the memory & the pics i took). I'm one of those who bawls her eyes out for a week each time skool starts.:confused3 not sure what i'll do when the last one leaves the nest...wah!

going to shop 'till we drops today, one of my fav. activities.

marci - almost forgot...great TR:thumbsup2 . Sorry to hear you had a few bumps, i shudder to think how long the regular lines were.

we're still in shock that U lets you bring back the refillable cups - forever:cool1:

hey, i just went to vote again and the thread was pulled.

it was so easy to go to it and vote from there.
at least jennifer did get votes on that thread.

i had no idea it was not allowed. i really didn't.

i see people on threads post about selling and the ebay items listed.
i just didn't know that rule.

I guess we both learned something new!

September 1st is the big 25  . I know I'm old now :sad2: . The more years I have, the bigger the gifts may get....:scratchin ??
Wow! My birthday is September 2!! Cool how close our birthdays are :cool1:
During Labor Day weekend.
Tho I won't be turning 25, about almost twice that age for me :upsidedow

i had no idea it was against the dis rules. i'm sorry. i hope you only got a warning and no points for it.
i am still voting for her.

Well, I had a warning at 2:28pm by one mod, then I got an Infraction at 2:40pm by a different mod which cost me 30 points. I'm not even sure what all that means, but no big deal. Guess I'll have to just stick to chatting and no link posting!!

aw...Melissa...that's a shame.....I will still vote everyday anyway..... from desktop, from laptop, from DS's computer, emailed all my friends, family and coworkers....hopefully she'll hang in there!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I think it's gonna be close between her and that Genevieve girl. So, we'll see what happens! I appreciate your support!! :) :) :)

I didn't know it was a rule either. Maybe as long as the discussion was buried here with a few random posts, nobody cared (or noticed)... but when the thread that was only about the contest was started, that was a problem? :confused3

Who knows. I still voted. From the magazine's website, the link for the contest is at the bottom of the page so it isn't hard to find.

Thanks so much for your votes! She (and I) really appreciate it! You all have been so sweet to help out in this endeavor!

Keep your fingers crossed for a good outcome for Jennifer!

Funny Janet - I thought of you when I got the infraction with the 30 points deducted! I guess you were telling us something about your "points" situation at the meet? I don't remember the details, but I remember you and Todd talking about similar issues.

I guess we better behave...:rolleyes1

Yankeepenny- so sorry about the car situation :sad2: :headache:
I've been there, done that many times before with getting cars fixed, spending mucho $$$ getting the cars fixed. It sux.
Hope it gets fixed real soon and not so much $$.

Nashville Trio- sorry about the link posting and the mod situation
I don't understand all that either
Hope your friend wins tho :thumbsup2

Marciemi- enjoying your TR! :thumbsup2

Ok, gotta run, as I need to get some stuff done.
Have a good day everyone!

Wow I cannot believe how close we are Rose!

DM, I will definitely call the insurance company..save in any way that I can!

Marci...can't wait to hear about surfing this morning!

why don't you send a pm to a mod, either dagny or phamton and tell them you received the warning but did not have time to remove the siggie thing since the infraction came so close behind and it was by 2 different mods.

it can't hurt. maybe they will lower the number of points you have.
the points vary on infractions and so many points makes penalties on what you can do. if you hit so many points, the amount i do not know, you can't send or receive pms for a month.

Murphy and his Law are hard at work today.

First, I'm trying to get myself and the kids all cleaned up. Shouldn't be such a chore, but for some reason today it seems to be.

Second, I'm trying to keep the house somewhat neat because my MIL is coming to watch Daniel this afternoon while we take Joshua to meet his teacher. Nearly an impossible task with two children, but I'm giving it a shot.

Third, I'm trying to get a list together for grocery shopping because we will be having my MIL's birthday dinner here on Sunday. She has a condition where her body won't process gluten, so cooking for her is something I have to really think about and plan for carefully. Since it is her birthday, I'll either be making an ice cream cake or a cheese cake for celebrating.

So, needless to say, I'm scattered today. I was busy scrubbing out the toilets so that MIL doesn't stick to the seat if she needs to use the bathroom and I hear Daniel saying, "Uh-oh... uh-oh..." in the kitchen. As I get closer to the kitchen, I hear this glug-glug, splash-splash, fizz-fizz noise. Not good. I already know it is not good. He spilled an entire can of Coke inside the fridge. I have spent the past hour taking everything out (and I mean everything) and wiping it down to get the sticky goo off.

This is definitely one of those, "The boys are both still alive, so I've done my job" days. :rolleyes1

Now, back to our regularly scheduled madness...

tricia, one of the many joys of having sons.....

they do create more work for ya'

Hi all
Gotta get going on buying some school supplies soon! We have a back-to- school picnic next week and the kids drop off all their school supplies in the classrooms before the picnic starts. School starts Aug 22 by me. About 2 weeks and 2 days away!

Here in Maine school rarely starts before Labor Day. But they don't get out of school until the 3rd week of June usually, depends on how many snow days they have used!
My youngest is going to be a senior this year. Just doesn't seem possible.

In my pantry I have 3 rows of that wire shelving stuff. Well, when we first moved in, I used to put 2 liter soda bottles on the shelves. One day my son (who was around 4 at the time) tried to get a bottle off the shelf while I was in another room. And guess what..he dropped it, and it bounced off the tile floor a few times and burst open all the while spraying him and every d@mn thing in the pantry. It was root beer, which must be the stickiest soda out there. Poor kid was screaming. It took days to get everything cleaned off. :lmao: I had the ironing board in there and a freezer and the vacuum cleaner. Oh my, what a mess!

and another story from sharon about raising sons.........

you can't help but love their many adventures in the house!
