Ever experience a very odd coincidence?

Well as I was asking people on this board about Shark Week, my brother had a shark get washed up on shore at the beach he works at! It was only three feet long, and unfortunately dead, still kinda eerie tho....

that IS very eerie..... (eh, whatcha expect w/ all the HHN talk goin' on around here....:confused3 )

well, lunch is made and I'm gonna get ready for bed.....morning comes TOO early for me...:guilty:

nite all!

My old dog died. I cam home from work and was going to let both her (old dog) and my younger dog out back. I saw her laying in my room, not moving or breathing. :(:(:(

I don't have a shovel, so I couldn't bury her. I put her in a box and will be borrowing a shovel soon.

I cried while telling my dad about it. You get attached to pets, even if you only have them for 2yrs.:sad1: :sad1:

R.I.P. pup

Dark Marauder...I 'm so sorry to hear about your loss. No matter how short a time we have them, our pets are so hard to lose. I'm sure your pup is happily playing in a field by the Rainbow Bridge and will joyfully greet you one day when you make the big trip. :grouphug:

Hi to all :wave2:

DM- so sorry about your loss of your pup

Welcome to all the newbies! :welcome:

Sorry I haven't been here much. Been so busy with emails and other things. DH still using the computer to check for jobs, etc. Kids want to play on computer, etc. Only one computer in the house.

Watched that Singing Bee show tonight. Also watched America's Got Talent.
As of the Singing Bee show, they did '80s songs tonight. One lady didn't remember a couple of words to Ebony and Ivory! :sad2:
Ok, I knew the words to that song pretty well. I know it's a lame song, but I am a Paul McCartney fan :thumbsup2

I hope you gals don't mind me sharing some pics from this past Sat. at SixFlags Great America in Gurnee, IL. I know Macraven (and everyone else) would probably like to see them :)

This is at the double carousel w/ the reflecting pool. The characters were doing some kind of show in front of the carousel.

Chrissy and Matthew with Bugs Bunny! Unfortunately the kids looked away while I took the pic.

Matthew with Taz!

The Wiggles show at Wigglesworld. Where are the 4 Aussie dudes? Only one guy filled in for them :sad2: At least they had Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog, and Henry the Octopus. It was strange not seeing the 4 guys tho.

That's it for SixFlags Great America pics.
I guess Great America must have put in a southwestern region area of the park this yr b/c I don't remember it last yr- must be new area
Tho the park is always expanding.

Have a good night all. :)

I'd just like to second my condolences about your dog, DM. It's awful when pets die. My wee cat, Elliott, died 10 years ago at the age of 16 and I still get dreams about him sometimes. I like to think of it as him coming to visit me, but that's probably just silly talk...

We got Jake not long after Elliott died and he's now 10. Poor thing has feline epilepsy. We worry about him.

Anyway, hope you're feeling better about it soon. I know what you're going through

DM -

I know the pain you are going thru right now and I wish you well.

DM,
Sorry about your dog.
I can relate as I had to put my old black lab down Monday. I have buried, grand parents, parents and even lost my best friend and it wasn't as tough as losing Blue. I think that what made it tougher was being the one to tell the vet to put him down. When the family went to say good bye Blue was all wagging his tail thinking we were going to take him home. He couldn't figure out why we were all crying. Even my wife cried which surprised me because she was always cursing the dog for one thing or another. He just had too many things wrong with him to try to save him and the humane thing to do was what we did. We rescued Blue from Domestic Animal Services when he was about 3 years old. We had him for 10 years. He had a good life with us. His favorite Universal hotel was the Hard Rock and he spent hours staring out the low window at the pool goers. I will truly miss Blue.

Morning everyone!

DM - I am SO sorry to hear about your four-legged family member passing.

Rose - Those are great pics! I wish our Six Flags was that nice (that would be Six Flags over Georgia). Of course, I haven't been in... ummm... 8 or 9 years, I guess... so I shouldn't comment. Don't really know what it is like now. And if you see a Wiggles show now, the kind you pay for and go to see at an arena, you probably won't get the Aussie guys either... and I mean the real guys. They have toured just the "friends" (Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, etc.) several times. I think they still haven't recovered from Greg (the yellow shirt Wiggle) retiring and being replaced by Sam a year or so ago.

And, yes, with kids my age I know WAY too much about the Wiggles.

B's Mom - It is always so exciting to get the dates down on the calendar! I'm still looking forward to when we can book dates for DCL in August, 2009... :rolleyes1

It looks like it will be "find the floor" day again for me. Sigh.

Morning all -

Working on coffee number 3 - lots of football and cheer pracice this week :faint: and momma's tired!!!!

Other than that going to clean out the pool and see if these buggers will get in it.....if not - its a coming down!

kinda concerned about the one boo boo i got a few weeks ago - its not healing right and I think I need to get to the doctor....turning a light shade of purple around the edges and not really scabbing up at all. I knew that was the worst one, but I didn't think it was this bad :scared1: I'll keep you all posted.

hope everyone has a great hump day!!! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I had not gone to my Six Flags for a few yrs too, until starting back last yr.
I went for a good period of time in the '80s and into the '90s. Stopped going from 1995 until 2006. Alot of line cutting and abuse of it observed back in the early and mid '90s. The line cutting bothered me alot back then, so stopped going. The park was dirty back then too, garbage all over (in the early '90s). Then I got pregnant with my twins in 1996, so hadn't gone back to Six Flags since until last yr. Seems to be more kid-friendly now, with all the newer kiddie areas :thumbsup2 The park looks alot cleaner too.

nite nite...don't let the bed bugs bite! :scared:

and if they do
get a shoe
beat them till
they're black and blue.....

oh darkie, i am so sorry about your dog passing. it is never easy to let go of a pet. i really do feel your heartache as i have been there before.
i wish i could give you words of comfort to ease the pain you are going through. sometimes, tears are healing for us. if you want to talk about it, let me know. i'm here.

It looks like it will be "find the floor" day again for me. Sigh.

i thought when my boys got older i would be seeing the floor all the time.
let me tell you, it doesn't get better as they get older.....:rolleyes1

They are running ads on the Atlanta tv stations showing adults and family groups specifically stating how clean and kid-friendly Six Flags Over GA is. I guess I should give them another try when my boys are a little older.

Of course, there are also stories running on the Atlanta tv station news programs about how they are trying to "clean up" the area around Six Flags. Lots of gang activity, etc. I don't know how that effects the park. Probably not much. People will go to an amusement park anyway... or any other tourist destination.

Forgive yet another drive by. I have a very hard time keeping up with this thread!

Rose, great pics! Looks like you guys had fun! Any news on the job front?

DM and MF, I am soooo very sorry about your losses. As a pet parent, I can totally empathize with both of you, and I know what a great loss it is to lose a 4-legged kid. We lost our "nephew" Sherman unexpectedly this year, and I cried for days, and he wasn't even ours. :(

Tonight is my last night of work. My weekend starts at 6:30 am tomorrow morning, and I'm not due back in till Tuesday at 2:30 pm :woohoo: . We are cleaning all day on Friday as we are hosting Family Dinner on Saturday night. Aunt, uncle, cousins, parents, sister, the whole fam damily. Well, those of us in NJ anyway. Now, you might take that to mean I'm cooking. Hahaha, how wrong you would be. Sadly, we have warned everyone not to eat the requisite Friday night pizza as we will be ordering in pizzas and salads. How sad are we?! Tomorrow night we are going to our favorite restaurant where they have a drink called "the Klondike." It is the most amazing dessert drink ever, and we are getting the recipe for that so that we can serve those after dinner. That will be the extent of my "cooking" tomorrow. :goodvibes

Hopefully, I will be able to suitably catch up with everyone tomorrow.

I am off to bed. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
