I WANT A PAIR!!!!!

Hi everyone. I have been MIA lately a bit, and have a lot to catch up on. I am reading something about "points" and "warnings" and "violations." Oh my!

Family dinner went well. Well, except for the fact that my 83-year-old grandmother does not get the concept that "double dipping" into a shared appetizer is bad. :scared1: She can't eat anything hard because her teeth bother her, but she wanted to try the dips. I should've known we were in trouble when she asked me for a spoon.

She took the spoon and began eating one dip right out of the bowl like it was ice cream. Now, this is just one thing that scheeves me out, so our conversation went like this:

Grandma, I need to get you a bowl if you're going to do that.

I don't need a bowl.

Yes, you do. A small dessert one. I'll get it for you.

No, I don't need a bowl.

Grandma!

To which she ignored me, and took that spoon right to a second dip.

Grandma, I really need to get you your own bowl.

I don't need a bowl.

To which I had to call in the big guns and let my mother know what she was doing. Now, because my grandma is practically deaf this turned into mom screaming:

MA! YOU CAN'T EAT THE DIPS RIGHT OUT OF THE BOWL! OTHER PEOPLE ARE EATING OUT OF THERE!

Now my grandmother is upset and embarrassed, and that was one of a few outbursts that evening. Now, the double dipping is certainly one of the least of my grandmother's problems, but a light enough one that we can't not make a little fun.

My father was sitting out on our back porch and was not witness to the double dipping incident. But now he wanted to know which dips had been "contaminated." Of course, we wouldn't tell him and made him guess which further incensed the great double dip caper.

Ha, my family!

On a brighter note, here is my niece holding Alex after dinner:

Doesn't Alex just look sooo happy?!

I see Marcie has her TR in this thread ... I need to start catching up!

Not yet. He just turned 2 in July, so he won't start Pre-K for another 2 years. I'm sure he'll adjust to the new schedule, but right now he is NOT enjoying it.

Believe it or not, Alex is only 8 pounds. Although he looks to be almost as big as Sammie the Ham! :goodvibes

I have to do some reading on this thread, but I am off to that awful place called work. I will be back on late tonight. TTFN!

Tricia: ah..the makin' of the "good ole days" :rolleyes1

Penny: whadda ya say me and you go after this Murphy guy? ;)

...and before anyone asks....a much better day today!!!!

(except for Bubba forgettin' to wish me a nice day.....)

thanks barb - hope bubba doesn't have the "moody" hormones hitting already...

2 bands of horrid storms went thru, very scary - black as night, tornado warnings...another going to hit in an hour; they can quit ANY time now. Had all my dogs, cats & kid squished on the couch:sad2: . Twister doesn't seem quite so cool right now.

gemma - I need another translation ;) "brill"???

i'm with you, Epcot world showcase is a bit of a snooze (again after seeing it several times) reminds me of a glorified strip mall. Do enjoy the Innovations area though, think some of their best rides are there.

barb - hope bubba's house is a very fine house today.:thumbsup2

lol, Brill is short for brilliant. Meaning great? lol I love being different! We didn't actually do World Showcase (you'll understand why I hated it in my TR! LOL)

Hope everything is ok Keisha! I saw those storms on the radar and they are heading towards NY now! Better start re-inflating my raft! :boat:
