Ah, but the relevant thing is that now if Ohio State's in the top 2, then (according to my football guys at least!) Michigan would be going to the Rose Bowl! I know - yippee! Can't see how they possibly deserve to go? But this had the guys here all excited and watching the games tonight and cheering for the outcomes that occurred!

Barb - I agree that it looks like a beautiful tree. We're doing artificial as I mentioned, and DS14 has been like "but now it won't be a REAL Christmas!" Well, we'll try it for a year and see what happens!

7-11's in Michigan sold alcohol too. Here in Wisconsin we don't even HAVE them at all (or anything similar). We were just mentioning that this afternoon when we needed to stop in the storm to get only hamburger buns (for chicken sandwiches - no we weren't grilling burgers in the snowstorm!) and wine (which I'm drinking right now coincidentally!). Had to brave a big grocery store miles from home rather than a 7-11 less than a mile away.

It was really weird out in the hot tub! The sky was kind of a light red color and it seemed almost like twilight, not 11pm! You could see everything ourside easily and no, it wasn't moonlight because there was complete cloud cover (and the snow switching over to freezing rain - joy - to prove it!). We couldn't figure out why it was so light out!

Barb - oh, man, am I supposed to have sent my ornament already? I BOUGHT it - thought that meant I was doing well!

Metro West - I just don't know! I think you could make arguments for so many schools and whoever I pick I KNOW the experts won't agree. I should choose a team just to guarantee they won't be in it!

I'll bet that was a Christmas to remember

There are a group of people that get together a tree swap. They get lists together with who is going to be there & their dates then they split in to groups and split the cost of a tree and I think some decorations then someone gets everything bought and shipped and it gets passed between the people on the list. It's really a neat concept really. I think last year there were either 4 or 5 for each of the DVC resorts but I didn't want to get involved in it because we were switching rooms a couple of times and it would have been to much hassle.

I bought the tree there, bought all the ornaments at the parks & DTD and had a lot of fun doing it.

It was really a special Christmas. I think it would have been better if my oldest daughter & granddaughter had been there but they weren't able to come. It was a little weird not being with mom, dad, my sister & the inlaws but I think the thing that really bothered us was Miranda & Maddie not being there with us.

I am hoping that we can go again next Christmas with all of our kids. Maybe the rest of my family will come too but I think I can handle it if i at least have all my kids there. We had a blast.

Of course with it also being Ally's birthday it made it even more special. I know it is something she will always remember.

Lori - I enjoyed the pics too! Looks like she enjoyed all the Christmas stuff last year! Is she excited already this year? My kids are already asking when we'll start opening presents. Pointed out if they started now, they'd run out well before Christmas! (And Sharon, I appreciate seeing your pics too, but they're not really "enjoyable" ones!" - hope you're not offended! ).

Thanks! She had probably her best trip ever last December. Don't know if i will ever be able to top that one. She hasn't really started talking about it. She has been making a list but that's about it.

I'm glad that wasn't the case....and, I didn't know 7-11s in NY sold alcohol They do in Fla, NY...I think I'm livin in the wrong state ....altho, Sheetz convenience stores just started a 'test' store in central PA selling the alcohol....hopefully it will 'pass' it's test and all PA will eventually sell booze in supermarkets and conv. stores....

They sell alcohol in 7-11s in Oklahoma too.

This is the only thread I respond to regularly too, but I read the community board a lot. I rarely respond though because I hate having a zillion subscribed threads, especially ones I don't really care about (yes, I know how to unsubscribe but it's a hassle). So I read, think about how I'd respond, and then don't bother!

You know I don't think anyone wanted to play in the National Championship game this year. Every week the teams that controlled their own destiny blew it.

I know it will sound like I am just biased but the Sooners really are a terrific team. I think if they were to go to the NC and play Ohio State (sorry can't say OSU cause here that is Okla. State and they are just an embarassment) or LSU either one they would win. That is as long as they would play their game and not pull something stupid.

Now I don't think they deserve to go. They did not do their job this year. The loss that is the worst is the one to Colorado, where they prepared for Texas, who they were playing the following week, instead of Colorado, who they thought they could walk all over. The loss to Texas Tech I blame on the coaches. You don't go that far through the season and not have a back-up QB that can come in to the game and take over. If our QB had not gone out on the first drive we would have won that game. But that is beside the point, they didn't win, they don't deserve to go.

Of course, LSU does not deserve to go either in that case. They only won today because once again they got lucky. How many games did they barely pull out at the last minute this year? Oh and I will tell you now Les Miles is an idiot and a liar (can't stand him). He said exactly the same thing when LSU came after him from OK State as he did about Michigan today. He will be coaching at Michigan, it's where he has always wanted to be. I would bet on it.

But who deserves to go then? Not Georgia, they didn't even get to play in their own conference championship. Not Hawaii, they don't play a hard enough schedule. Not USC, they blew to many games too.

I don't think any of them deserve to go this year!

Oh by the way, guess should have warned you guys that true, long time Sooner fans are always very unhappy when our team looses games that they should have won. We are not happy with even 1 loss seasons, let alone 2 loss seasons. Sorry you had to listen to my rambling.

And Tricia - yep, I know about those moms too! In Michigan we called them BP's (Beautiful People). Trust me, it wasn't a compliment! I've also had a few altercations with wonderful people like that. In my experience, they also seemed to be the ones in charge of the PTA (since they liked to hear themselves talk and be the center of attention), which is why I've never gotten involved in the PTA's

When DS was starting 5th grade, we had an open house a few days before school started. We showed about 10 minutes early and I was walking around and went oustside of the gym. Well this was where they were setting up the tables for the refreshments. I of course, was polite and said Hello to Fluffy, Beautiful People. And she looked at me and said, "Are you someone I should know?" I then introduced myself, "I'm JawsCPA". And she then turned her back on me. DH still laughs about this one. And No, I didn't join the PTA for middle school. I did my duty in elementary school.

Anyhoo, I went to Walmart last night and did manage to get some more shopping done. I have more presents purchased this year than I ever had on December 2.

Yes, MFletch, Ridley played another shutout game and I am hoping that they can pull off just 2 more wins for State. Hodges is amazing!! I know for a fact that he (and 2 others on the team) have been scouted by Lacrosse Coaches - they play two sports. Egee (who is also a basketball player) is the QB who didn't even play last year! He is doing a really great job as well!!

Going to the Eagles game in about 3 hours (yeah, at about 10:45AM) It is not a very pretty day out there, don't know how long we are going to last

Glad to see everyone posting and having a great time, haven't seen mac since forensic files, hope she is ok

Penn State got the Alamo Bowl bid ......they were one win away from a NYDay bowl game. I think I have to agree with Lori's reasoning that there is no TRUE National Champion this year.....just see who doesn't choke in the big game
