I was thinking about this earlier, but I don't think I have ever shown you pics of me, or any of my other kids. So here are some random one that I just found on the computer

have a good day all, don't forget to :cheer2: for the Black & Gold

Thanks again guys! Hey Janet - I want an edible cake too! ;) Although mine is certainly cute!

Bad news on the computer. Yep, even the good folks (?!) at Best Buy were unable to resuscitate it. It's dead. They're sending it off to the next level somewhere far away (Texas? Zimbabwe? Jupiter? - who knows?) so it will be gone for a couple of weeks, and we may not get the same one back. :sad2:

I'm probably the most stressed about losing my email tracking for the next few weeks. Roadrunner itself (the provider we use) has a limited amount you can keep in your mailbox. I'll try to keep deleting the junk, but now all the emails I send (to schools, counselors, and friends) I won't have a record of unless I go in my RR account and if I have room. Normally I have everything on Outlook and I can easily have a record and go back and check something. Not to mention that RR is really hard to type in since if you take more than about 5 minutes it kicks you out. Guess I'll be typing and saving in Word and transfering. Just frustrating! And I don't know how much we lost. We backed up about 2 weeks ago, but who knows what's been done since then. And Royce isn't sure if the email that was on the computer will all transfer back. Sigh!

Well, the car's in the shop, so I'm off in Matt's car to go to the Y, and then pick him up and drive him to his college class. They have a really wacky day at school today (something like periods 2, 4, 8, then a pep assembly, then an early release), so he's not going back. So we'll go out to lunch to celebrate my birthday at least! Oh, and I guess that according to Matt I'm going to get gas in his car before I do anything if I want to make it anywhere! :sad2:

Have a good Friday everyone!

marci - there's a cupcake in each box;) couple fass passes too:goodvibes

If any of you are Brad Paisley fans he's from my original hometown. My nieces had his mom as a teacher--really nice family:)

Hmm. I wish this could be a happy post. Unfortunately, the car prognosis is not good. Needs (so far that they've told us) complete new rack and pinion (sp?) system ($900), new rear brakes and some kind of pump ($400), complete alignment after install rack and pinion ($100). This is in addition to just the general work fees. Yeah, we're at about $1500 total. :faint: :faint:

Guess we're going to forget about the dishwasher AND the hot water heater AND the possibility of a trip to WDW in August. :sad1:

Don't know what else to do. We need the car. If we buy a new one our payment would probably be at least $300 so we'd make it up in 5 months anyways. If we buy a used car, we'd still be out $6000 minimum, and then we still don't know what we're getting into as far as problems with that car.

But putting $1500 into a car with 165,000 miles on it...:confused3 Just don't know! Between this and the computer, I am NOT a happy camper right now!

And I'm typing this in Stephen's room which REEKS of Axe deoderant :crazy2: because evidently my genius boys decided it was a good idea to have a deoderant fight. My eyes are burning here, even though I have a fan on pointing out of the room near me.

Everyone else have a better Friday and thanks again for the b-day wishes!

HI homies-
Haven't been here in a couple of days. Need to read up and catch up a few pages :coffee:
Been busy. Wed was a half day of school, so kids drove me a little crazy on Wed.
Yesterday got busy and Matthew had a band concert last night. Had to make dinner beforehand and make sure Matthew's clothes were not wrinkly, etc. Found out yest afterschool that one of his boots was missing at school :sad2: He said he was getting his boots from right outside his classroom door when the bell rang and one of his boots was missing. Don't know if another kid took his boot as an accident or on purpose. He was really crying when he came outside the school. We went back in the school for a couple of minutes to look in his classroom. We didn't have time to check the school lost and found, as I needed to take him to band rehearsal. I'm hoping and praying his boot showed up miraculously today. If a kid took it on purpose, that is so cruel. Anyways, I just hope it shows up or we will have to buy him another set of boots.

Oh, I think I found my twin sister! We were having refreshments at the school cafeteria right after the band concert, and one of the moms of a boy that Matthew knows from boy scouts is also in band(which I didn't know until now). Anyways, I started talking to the mom and come to find out, she has the same first name as me! She is Rosemary and I'm Rosemarie. Anyways, found out we are both 100 percent Italian with extremely similar names! That is so wild! I don't have her phone number, but I can probably get it somehow. How cool is that! "It's a small world after all...."

HI to all :wave2:

Ouch. :grouphug:

That is so funny about the Axe--I just went into the bathroom the night before last and grabbed all the axe products and pitched them. I told him I would even let him buy some Abercrombie (I hate that stuff, too)over that stuff. Reminds me of this old greasy doctor that we could always smell three halls before you could see him.:crazy2:

:bday: :bday: party: party:
Happy Birthday, Marcie and Penny!!!

I couldn't transfer over my cake pic from photobucket using the built-in laptop mouse, too hard.

Marcie- so sorry about your car shop expenses. It really is a bummer, cost way to much $$$. BTDT way too many times :sad2:

marci, i feel your pain.

i would do a trade in or go new.
$300 a month is not bad for new car payments. it really isn't.

what we do is once our cars hits repair work for over $300 a month for 6 months, we do a trade in. we average it out over the year to see how much longer we keep the cars.
we have 2 cars with over 125,000 miles on them and 1 car that we let son use for work that has 80,000 miles on it.

do the basics on the car and then check out car max on line to see what they have. they do new and used autos.

we got our last 3 cars from them.
no haggling is necessary when working with them.

good luck on your decision. i know it is a difficult one.

we just dropped $1100 on the suv and don't expect anymore major work done for the next year on it.

you have to consider brake jobs are going to be routine.
when you have major engine issues, trade it off before it gets worse.

btw, did you get your birthday lunch?

Thanks for the support guys! Yeah, I just opened my doorwall in the 15 degree weather for a half hour to get rid of the Axe smell! :thumbsup2

Mac I guess we're doing this. I stepped out of the decision and let my husband decide what was best. Really I know we'd get nothing for the car. It's in really bad shape physically (beat up) as well, so it would end up being a "donate it to purple heart" thing. My guess on car payments is probably not realistic for a new car, just about what we paid for Royce's Civic, but we bought that back when I worked for Honda and got it at cost. I think right now neither of us are willing to go through the hassle of trying to pick out a new car. They did agree to do a total car inspection for us (which is how we found out about the pump and brakes - first problem was only the rack & pinion) and make sure it was worth doing. At least I have confidence in this shop; that they're not trying to rip us off or make a quick buck.

Since I haven't heard back from Royce or the car shop telling me to get the car, I'm guessing that means he told them to go ahead with all the work. I guess if we get 6 more months out of it we should be happy. If we can get through about 18 months, then Matt will be at college, and we really could go the next year or so without a car (although my other two boys might not agree!). By then we will have paid off the Odyssey, so maybe a new car would be a reasonable option at that point. Although with one kid in college and another on the way, maybe not!

Sigh. What can you do?

Matt and I had an elaborate lunch at Panera Bread, the ultimate in sophisticated birthday celebration! ;)

Royce and I are considering going out for a more exciting dinner. We'll see - I'll keep you updated (I know you're all holding your breaths! :rotfl: )
