Ok im back.Yesterday my DD18 decided her 02 Escort could beat a 08 Caddy!! Well the caddy one of coarse..

She and everyone is fine. But her car is totaled..

When I got there she was shakend and told me the whole story,SHE WAS TEXT MESSAGING and did not see the car stop in front of her..

At that point I was mad,but I didnt show it,I was more concerned about her being allright..

But as of today that phone is no more unless she buys her own!!!!!!!

I swear it feels like one step forward two steps back!!:sad2:

:sad2: ... glad DD is OK

... I see so many people drive and talk on their cell phones or even texting while driving - I'm surprised many more people aren't in accidents :confused3

Sad news here, too. Not as sad as a wreck, but it has me really, really bummed. We won't be going to HHN this year.

I told DH how excited I was about our October trip and meeting everyone, and he got a little uncomfortable. He said with some of the things we need to do this year, he just didn't see how it would be feasible. We have a bunch of home maintainance that needs to be done (REALLY needs to be done - our house is 170+ years old). We also have tuition for his classes, and we've been wanting to get solar panels since we moved here. And a list of other things that escape my mind at the moment. We avoid debt like the plague, so we're not taking out loans or using credit cards for any of it. Puts a big dent in the vacation plans, but it'll be worth it. I'll get over the disappointment and I WILL meet my friends the HHN fans! Just not this year.... :sad1:
We know exactly how you feel ... we ended up canceling our January trip to Orlando because of expenses. Hopefully we'll get to meet in 2010.

Darn would too love to meet Ya'll.But I can see were your comming from.
We are the sameway. We do all repairs on our house out of pocket..Only way too go..I hate bills!!

Maybe in 2010,we can doo the Dis'er HHN VIP TOUR..:thumbsup2

Wait... we get a VIP tour???? :scratchin

Wait... we get a VIP tour???? :scratchin

The only way too do it..Its got its price, but you will not regret it!!

Mac is the MC on this!! If your seriose about it,then talk with her..

I promise this is the only way I'll do it fore evermore..:thumbsup2

Wait... we get a VIP tour???? :scratchin

We've been doing the RIP tour as a group for the past few years. It's a bit more expensive than a regular HHN ticket but you get guaranteed FOTL access to all the houses and shows in one evening.

The majority of us also attend more than one evening but do the RIP tour as a group on one night.

You can't beat being treated like a VIP and getting escorted to the front of the line while everyone else waits in line ;)

:hyper: OH OH OH!!!!! I want in!!!!!!!!! Where's Mac?!?!?! I want details!!!

I know we more than likely cannot this year. We have a house full of itchy wool carpet to yank up and replace and a yard to re-fence, but I can always start planning my little heart out for next year and setting dates aside NOW!

What were the dates again?

it's always a lot of

out for us as we don't know how to do the jobs.

do what i do taminator, go solo to the darkside and it's lots cheaper.......i work part time and save every penny of it for the trip costs.
:crazy2: ur on a bad roll with the home issues...look on the bright side, soon it'll all be brand new! still stinks, sorry

agree re AI @ MGM, remember the wapsdi competion & the idea i threw out?...how quickly it was shot down as stoopid:rolleyes: created a monster & cannot believe they r limiting Fantasmic because of it....actually, of course i can believe it-it has to be waaaaay cheaper to produce:sad2:

what little income i generate is ALL vacation designated too:goodvibes

donald - i cringed reading ur post, sorry to hear; not sure if daughter is lucky or not...think it should be nationwide law to ban cell phones in moving vehicles...honestly, how did we ever live without them in the dark ages

those brownies look good, i finished my holiday baking today:guilty: (better late than never, the sour cream & yeast were getting ready to expire:p ); made 3 large nut rolls, cinnamon rolls & some buns...yummy carbfest

anybody going to watch the hockey AS game tomorrow?

one of my sons was rear ended a month ago.
in fact, he was rear ended twice in a week.

both times he was at a stop light and the teen girl behind was texting as she was driving.

2nd time it happened, the sheriff was behind the texting teen girl.

buy bye drivers license both times to the 2 girls.

in illinois, you have an accident under the age of 20, you lose your license.

Luckily I've never had any major accidents. And I just got my first speeding ticket ever last June. Just popping in to say hi. Nothing new here.

It's a shame they don't so the same for those over the age of 60 :rolleyes1 Sorry... here we have some scary senior citizens drivers! and according to our papers which show the ages of the drivers as opposed to the names, 95% (or more) are over the age of 55. Slower reaction times can be a killer!

I can usually handle driving anywhere ... except as you get close to Miami - the drivers down there are suicidal and driving down there seriously scares the crap out of me. Next time we head to the Keys we're taking an alternate route around Miami!

I wish they did that down here...they don't even have a Driver's Ed class that's mandatory in school. These kids have no real training when getting their licenses.

BTW...Good morning!
:)

DD - sorry to hear about your daughter, but glad she is ok. texting while driving is one of the most dangerous things - EVER. Things on the road can change in a split second. I don't even like to answer the phone, but can't quite figure out the whole bluetooth thing. My ears must be weird or something.

Tam - I know the disappointment is weighing heavy right now, but who knows, like mac said maybe things will change. On the bright side, you are going to be working to make your home "fresh & new". I can do some things myself....just not the big heavy stuff and DH would rather pay someone to do improvement/repairs than to do it himself.

Sharky - mac and the gang are usually there over COlumbus Day weekend and do the VIP?RIP tour one night. There are comments about the group meet up somewhere on this forum.

One of these days , I will muster the courage and go....right now my 13 yo DD and DH would be the only two jazzed up about going. She is his clone....with estrogen.....has been riding all the big rides with him since she could pass the height requirements. They are intrigued with the new coaster HR3 and cannot wait to ride it!

Have a great Sunday all - I am off to tackle a mountain.

Of laundry.

Whoop-de-stinkin'-do :sad2:

Carrying wood inside to the basement...ahh what fun!! ;) Oh well the end product will be so worth it!! :thumbsup2

Both my DS's need to see their mommy bring in the wood, I am one tough lady, but I am a bit girly...LOL!! Don't mess with me kids pirate:

I hope everyone is having a good Sunday!!! Isn't this the day we try to get crap done that didn't get done during the week!!:scratchin

Happy Sunday all :wave2:

Happy Sunday all-

donaldduck-sorry to hear about your DD's accident :guilty: . Glad she is OK.
I wouldn't buy her a new cell phone, either, if I were you. It's a shame teens think they need/want to text or talk on the phone while driving. I am not at that point yet(teens driving) with my kids, not looking forward to it either.

Tamie- sorry to hear you have to cancel your trip to the darkside :guilty:
I know in my condo, we have some small repairs to do as well.
I got some plumbing repairs done about a couple of months ago. I found this handyman guy a neighbor referred me to, to do repairs around our condo. He is older but he keeps costs down, which is great for us! I know how it can be to fork out $$ for house repairs, etc. ::yes::

Glad you all love the brownies I made! :cool1:

Good news on my end, I got the restaurant gift certificate in the mail yest, that I won from our local radio station! :cool1: :cheer2:
The restaurant is a 35-45 min drive from my house. Unfortunately, can't use the gift cert on Saturdays, as it states on the cert. Can only be used Sundays- Fridays, no Sat :guilty: Oh well.

Thought I saw a friend at church last night that doesn't normally go to my church, but not sure :scratchin . The more the merrier! I do need to get newer contact lenses, as what I wear are so old and contacts blur out at times. Need to get an appt to the eye doc one of these days.

Church was very good last night :) Have all your backs.

Is the Superbowl next Sunday already? I think we will be home, making sweet and sour meatballs. Chrissy loves to watch the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet, it is cute!

Happy 100 pages!!

HI to all :wave2:

man, i usually don't go starting talking about HHN until at least end of march...

when sparks start flying on the csw boards, it makes me day dream for hhn and i can't hold my tongue...
that's when you'll hear me yap about the columbus day weekend event.

and Metro will be talking also about it, i just know that....;)

what i do is talk to some homies, set up tenative plans early. I call UO and get as much 411 as possible for the RIP tour for hhn.
last year it was $2000 for a 7 hour tour but very much worth it.

I work with each homie that wants in and figure out finances as we divide it up equally, I pass on the discount i get for the tour and it makes it very affordable for the entire group.
last year i think we paid about $10 more each doing the RIP exclusive tour rather than the nonexclusive 4 hour tour with strangers.

oh, good afternoon homies.....:smokin:

you changed your picture on the avatar again bonny.

i loved the past one you had but the one you have now is super kewl also.
