Katie the dress is beautiful.

Lawrence I would say go the cheaper date too. It will give you more money to do a special dinner or two.

Barb & Tracie be careful going home after the ice storm today.

Macadamia the Great - Have a terrific trip! I can't believe it is finally time.

Have a great day everyone!

You know what really ticks me off sometimes about the DIS boards? I posted a reply to a question on the Disney side and suddenly everyone and their brother who DOESN'T live here knows more than me about the weather. I certainly don't claim to be an expert on our weather and I know it changes all the time but come on...do you think someone in IL or PA knows more about the local weather than I do? These posters need to be ***** slapped as a welcome to Orlando as they get off the plane at OIA.

Todd - Know It Alls kill me. Really they do. Why would a northerner know anything about the weather in FL?? I mean, you are the closest thing to an expert because you LIVE there and watch the news and walk outside of your house on a daily basis......don't let it get to you - you know you are MY favorite Orlando weatherman!!!!

Hey Homies, Just thought I'd drop in and say hi - and Happy New Year to you all!

Hope everyone is all good on the darkside of the boards :)

And Todd - You're definitely my favourite weatherman too :rotfl2:

Good morning homies
Want to get you homies thought on this and that is as you can see by my ticker I am planning a honeymoon trip in july(just me and dw this time) but been checking and with a tight budget like always
found it would be cheaper fo us to go in mid or late june or just stick to the original plan for july since or anniversary is on the july date when we planned to go.

St L., if it were me, i would go mid june since it is cheaper.
late june is another option if the money is still right for it.

one time only, i went to universal in later june, around 25-6-7, and found it too crowded for my tastes.
have also been mid june and it seemed more to my liking at that time.

no matter what time period you go in june, it will be cheaper than july.

think of it this way, you go before your anniversary to celebrate at UO, and then you get to do something else once you are back home on the anniversary.

2 fun dates are always better than 1......:goodvibes

and a big hello to all the homies this morning!!

Oh who knows...maybe they have relocation envy...they hate those of us who moved here because they can't. Thanks Tracie...that's sweet. Just be careful driving home today with all that ice and mess.

And Todd - You're definitely my favourite weatherman too :rotfl2:
Bloody hell....just kidding! Thanks Craig! :rotfl:

Todd, you know more about the weather and how quickly it can change more than any of us.
Hey, you live there!
You know the score on it all.

Just because someone from the north plans a trip, as they "know" how the weather will be in orlando, doesn't mean squat to the locals.

you can not get the florida/orlando daily weather on the radio or tv in chicagoland.

Hey Homies, Just thought I'd drop in and say hi - and Happy New Year to you all!

Hey there homie!

Hey all...just pokin my nose in...

Seems kinda quiet today :confused3

Lawrence...I'd go late June. Only because the last weekend of June is when the parks stay open till 10 instead of closing at 9  That way, you can ride outdoor stuff in the DARK...wicked :thumbsup2 (Or the end of June/beg of July....)

Going to get ice storm today...while I'm at work. :headache:

Should prove to be an interesting ride home.....

:wave2:

right there with ya homie :sad2:

Lawrence - stick with the budget and go the month before :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone thats what I was thinking and Mac thats what I told dw last night that we could always do something else here at home for anniversary plus the fact RPR's room rates are $158 a night in june versus $238 a night in july

Hey Mac, HHN was amazing, probs the best night of my life :) The night Em said yes was good, but it was no HHN :rotfl2:

We were lucky enough to have one of the premier HHN guides with us for the night - even if he did take a wrong turning and ended up behind the scenes in Scary Tales ;) - which added to the experience!

Next year is now going to be wedding year but we are definitely going to be coming back in 2010 for HHN XX and some Harry Potter action.

I'll just have to live vicarioulsy through you guys until then :)

i knew you were going to ask her for her hand in universal, that is why i said wife in small letters. didn't know when the wedding would be.

be sure to come back to hhn for the year following.

and, congratulations!

I paid my dues with over 40 years of cold and snow,I don't think I could go back now after 8 years

It went great!!:thumbsup2 Next Tuesday I have to take the apitude test-get a physical-grug test-finger printed-background check,all the good stuff..The only thing I'm worried about is the physical..I wish I quit smoking years ago!!But I'm still walking 5plus miles a day!!:thumbsup2

The only downfall, and he let me know,is the vets comming back from the middle east with MP training!!

Other then that I talked to a few friends of mine.If this dont fall thru I got options!!:thumbsup2
go for it! good luck, the 10 pt vet preference is an obstacle, know my DS is running into it...keep telling him he just has to aim higher...then i run;)
No no...Universal will still have HHN but the rumor is they will add a children's party on the IOA side to compete with MNSSHP. Nothing is happening to HHN.
i think it's a good marketing ploy to overcome the objects of families who have different interests/age groups...something for everybody:thumbsup2 ma & the youngins @ one party, the big boys/girls @ the other...win-win situation
Good morning homies

darn travel budget, we've all got them, stinks doesn't it? anyway, my thoughts...i'd go 1st or 2nd week of June. Most nothern districts still in skool, less traffic in parks. If staying onsite i wouldn't worry about the parks staying open late either as long as u 'stop spoonin';) & get to the parks early...leaves more time to have grown up fun @ Citiwalk:thumbsup2 .

plan the perfect trip for ur bride larry!:goodvibes

no, i don't; although i am the poster child for knowing it all:lmao:

no good deed goes unpunished todd, welcome to the jungle of ignorant tourists...sorry, sometimes i think we get over excited & all our good sense (& manners) get left @ home...still, no excuse to be so rude to you & other locals...it is your 'turf after all.

Afternoon everyone ...

Lawrence - I vote for the cheaper date too :thumbsup2

Todd - I think you'd know more about the weather than someone who doesn't live in Florida :confused3

but I've also learned there are some strange ducks on the other side of the board :rolleyes1

Its pretty warm here in central Florida today going out to get some sunshine
Bottle some of that warmness and send it to me please ....

Yeah we are planning on staying at RPR
but the only thing is I found a new airline that just started flying out of our area and the rates are like $59 each way but noticed they only go to sanford and have no idea about that since I have only have gone to MCO

Okay, I'm trying to catch up sporadically since I'll never do it all at once. I was AWOL for awhile because we went out to the Mall of America (in Minneapolis) for a few days. We enjoy the area and stayed at a really nice hotel. Love going to IKEA (since there are none around here) and got a nice bench for the front foyer to store all the shoes that pile up there (for just $40). The kids had a blast at the new Nickelodeon Universe inside the mall. Yes, it's geared towards younger kids, but they added 2 new coasters (real, not kiddie!) and still have my favorite ever coaster in the entire world (now called the "Fairly Odd Coaster". I rode it 5 times in a row, much to the amusement of the little kiddies I ended up with each time! :rotfl:

Anyways, funny story for you all! We went there Friday morning, and wanted to get in and get our wristbands before opening so we were ready to hit all the rides ahead of the crowds. DH dropped us off at the Sears' entrance and went to park, while we ran in about 5 minutes before opening. We get to the center of the mall (where the amusement park is located) and see a line of about 25 people - mostly families with younger kids. Obviously the line to buy tickets for Nick Universe, right?

Well, we stand there a couple minutes, and as I look into the park, it looks like to me that there's another place to buy tickets nearby and they're just opening the chain gate on it. I tell the boys to stay put and I run over to check it out. As I get there, the employee asks what I want. I tell her I need to buy wristbands and she tells me she can help me out. I turn back to the boys to signal to them to join me and realize what I couldn't see coming from the other direction.....they're standing in line to get into the newly-opened AMERICAN GIRL store! :rotfl2: Can't you just see everyone looking strangely at 3 teenage boys in line there alone?

Anyways, just to make you think I'm a bad parent as well, Eric had a great time at both the mall and the IKEA store since he got a pair of Heeley's for Christmas. :rolleyes1 He's old enough and coordinated enough to avoid people though, and smart enough so that anytime he saw any kind of security he would be walking before they could register that he was rolling a half second earlier! ;) He was only told once in all the time we were there not to use them. Not counting when I yelled at him as he came off a rollercoaster and went zooming down the off-ramp! :sad2: Now he probably won't have a chance to use them again before May or so, so I'm glad he had some fun with them. Yeah, I know, I'm a bad mom! :guilty:

More updates later!
Marcie, glad you all had a good time at MOA! We went up about 7yrs ago, for spring break(my kids were 4 then, turning 5). We had a good time there.
The only time I have been to MOA. The theme park was Camp Snoopy then. Got to meet Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy- after one of those Snoopy
shows. :thumbsup2 Also went to the Legoland store and something called "Adventure Cerealland" or something like that. That was fun!

You are not a bad mom. I would probably do the same thing and have the boys not wear the heelies.

Hi homies-
DH did get checked out by his eye specialist this morning. Everything looks good :thumbsup2 He has some kind of extra tissue near the retina that is causing him to see floaters. Dr. said this is common for people that had cataract surgery. The tissue is supposed to dissolve on it's own, so no need for drops, etc. He goes back for a follow up in about 6 weeks.

HI to all :wave2:

Howdy all!!!Hope everyone is having a great day..

How is it going Tom Terry-umm I mean Todd??:rotfl:
