Something About Nothing..........#6

Hi from Boston. Everyone else is still sleeping since we got to bed after midnight. Our high school bb team lost in overtime last night so they are all bummed out.

And I loved Land of the Lost, Metro - even though in retrospect it was an incredibly stupid show. Like Jurassic Park without the plot or special effects!

What a shame.
I`m forgetting about the clock shifts. Ours go forward an hour tonight! So losing an hour. Will be tired tomorrow as having a kind of late night tonight. We`ve got friends going to Orlando in a few weeks for the first time so they`re coming over for some tips and a look at pictures and stuff.
May have a glass of wine or two:thumbsup2

Just in case I confuse any British DISers, it`s next weekend our clocks go forward 1 hour :confused3 :confused3
Don`t know how I got that mixed up, think I must have got up too early this morning.
Have a good day everyone :)

Morning :goodvibes gosh you must be up early if my calculations are right. Must be about 6.10am over there!!
Are you having problems with fires then? Never seen anything about it. Hope it doesn`t get too bad for vulnerable people.

:welcome: :welcome:
back schumigirl/carole
you haven't been here in ages!

i knew you would return someday.......:goodvibes
it took metro and the fires to get you here...

i was just thinking, since you are over there and i am here, different time zones, i might have found a late night (for me) posting homie!!

the homies here crash earlier than i do

marci, i was still up but couldn't get the page to open here.
i couldn't get much of anything to open after midnight last night.
i couldn't get it to open until just a bit ago.

but, here now.
i'm sorry your team lost. especially in overtime, that has to be a heartbreaker for the boys.

land of the lost.
someone refresh my memory.
i just can't picture it at the moment.....

Morning all! :teeth:

I could really smell the smoke from the fires last night...I guess the wind was blowing just right.

Just a reminder...if you're coming down in the near future and have breathing problems, you might want to come prepared. We have had no rain in quite a few weeks now and everything is dry. Wild fires are breaking out all over again.

Metro, that is just awful about the fires!
what do people do that have pets that have to go outside?
or children that play outside?

does this happen during certain months down there due to the lack of rain?

hopefully, the wind will change directions and you won't have to be gagged with the burning smell this weekend.

:goodvibes Awwwwww gee thanks. I`ve popped on a couple of times, but until I actually had this years holiday booked I was avoiding all Disney/Universal sites as I didn`t want to get all excited............. only to be told by DH we wouldn`t be able to come this year.

But all booked up now and bursting to get over again, to what my lovely husband Tom calls my "spiritual home" :cloud9:

What time zone are you in mac, not quite sure, but if I see your little green light on I`m up for a chat:surfweb: I always seem to be popping in and out of here.... well it would be rude not to;)
Catch you later :)

Only 145 days to go :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yes looking forward to the extra daylight as our long dark winter seem to have gone on forever! It`s beautiful today but still very cold. Tom`s gone out to cut the grass and is nagging me to help:confused3 I`m quite busy on the puter:lmao:
Heading home to Scotland to see my mum in a couple of weeks so hoping the weather picks up by then.
Just dreaming of that orlando sunshine at the moment :goodvibes

Gosh your location really made me smile. I remember saying that when I was little, well to revert to my scottish accent "when ah wis a wee lassie"
Mum lives in stevenston in Ayrshire, right opposite the lovely Isle of Arran. Looking forward to it as I haven`t seen mum since xmas. And two brothers and a sister i`ve not seen since last Aug.
Yes hope the weather will be nice then, where are you from?

I only ever look to see if the green light beside the triangle is bright green or grey. I always assumed bright green means your online and grey you`re not or am I missing something else (probably am) :rotfl:

I just got home from work....glad to be home. We're going to Olive Garden for dinner tonite and shopping for a few things at Target and PetCo while in that area. Since adopting Max, seems like PetCo is a weekly stop :confused3

Anyhow...Happy Anniversary to avic...and welcome. All are welcome...leave politics and rudeness outside the door please :teeth: Other than that, we talk about everything and nothing!

and welcome back to schumgirl!!

Todd...I remember this is the dry season. FIL always tells us his lawn turns a lovely shade of brown in the spring...just before we get there in summer. By the time we arrive at his house, grass is always extremely GREEN! Tell him he's a liar  Hope those fires keep at bay and the wind starts blowin opposite direction for ya :thumbsup2

I just poking my nose in to say :wave2: so mac don't yell at me! :scared:

Have a good weekend everyone~ :goodvibes

It's usually only a problem in the spring since rainy season doesn't hit until summer. The fires aren't bad enough to keep pets and children inside (unless it's right in your area) but you can't leave your windows open when the wind is blowing. Many times I've had to use Visine after I get to work after walking from the parking garage to the office and if you have asthma...not a good thing.

youse right!!

green light means youse are on line.

red light means youse are signed off.

I thought the red light meant you were invisible and it's only seen by the poster. Your light is always gray...doesn't that mean you are off line? ;)

You beat me to the question Todd, I`ve never seen a red light:confused3 :confused3 Yes I can see a grey light on mac`s light. Mine is green as is yours Todd??? Doesn`t take much to confuse me though

Yes...I know green means online and you and I are both online!

Since I have a cable connection, I usually don't sign off so I always appear to be online. :rolleyes1
